-Goku:
A saiyan who was sent to earth to destroy it's inhabitants(before frieza destroyed planet vegeta). He fell down a small cliff and hit his head while he was trying to do this (as a baby), which caused him to forget about his saiyan roots, and destroying earth. After the fall he became good and protected earth. He has a child named Gohan, and a wife named Chichi. Eventually he has another son named Goten, and a Granddaughter named pan. He sacrificed his life to save his son from His evil brother Radditz, but got wished back with the dragon balls.
-Gohan:
Goku's son. He used to be a mere frightened child, but he now is a strong fighter, due to Piccolo's traning, and being a saiyan, and he eventually becomes a great fighter with mysterious powers that come out when he is angry. As he grows up he marries Mr.Sattan's daughter Videl, and has a daughter named Pan.
-Goten:
Goku's other son after Gohan, a child who is a fighter. His stregth is not too powerful but increases. He has trouble pronouncing "Kamehameha". Fuzes with chibi trunks to become gotenks later on.
-Piccolo:
A Namek person who is the counter part of Earth's gaurdian Kami. Though he once was evil, he joined forces with Goku to destroy Radditz, and has been with him ever since. he eventually becomes one of the strongest people in the universe.
-Raditz:
Goku's evil saiyan brother. He was sent to earth to see how Kakarot (Goku) was doing in his mission. When he discovered what had happened he kiddnapped Gohan to make them chase him so Goku would become a "true saiyan" again. Piccolo managed to destroy him, and Goku With him.
-Chow Su:
a small little z fighter. He destroyed himself in an attemp at a kamikazi attack on nappa. which failed. He is left behind when the others go to fight Cell.
-Tien:
A big bald powerful Z fighter. He's very persistent and tough. He has 3 eyes.
-Yamcha:
The Z fighter who loves a good challenge. he was killed by one of Nappas Saibamen. and plays baseball down on earth when not training or battling.
-Krillin:
An ex monk who was befriended by Goku as a boy. He is Goku's best friend and helped him kill many powerful enimies like frieza etc., and has been in the other dimension, but was wished back. He has now been killed and is in the other dimension, but is wished back, and marries an android.
-Nappa:
An elite sayain who came to earth with Vegeta to find the dragonballs. When goku was wished back, Nappa was defeated, and sent to the next dimension by vegeta.
-Vegeta:
A saiyan prince who came to earth in search of the dragonballs after his planet was destroyed. He found more than that, he found his match, his rival. He has been with Goku since Goku landed on Namek, although he is still evil. He wanted to become a super saiyan, but was sent to the next dimension. He tells Goku of how he was kidnapped and turned into one of frieza's lackys. He is wished back and is telepotrted to earth.He eventually has a son named Trunks with bulma. He also becomes a super saiyan.
-Trunks:
Trunks first appears as an teenager, for he came back in time to warn the z fighters about the androids 3 years in advance so they would have a chance to train. Later He will leave, and Trunks will be born normally. He is a great fighter, and is the one who kills frieza for good, then kills his father King kold. He wields a sword, and is killed by Cell.
-Bulma:
a cowardly young woman who eventually marries Vegita and gives birth to trunks. Although she is a coward, she is a mechanical genious, and a good friend to Goku, Gohan, and Krillin.
-Kami:
The Namek that Piccolo was created from, He had to because he had to rid the evil of him to become the guardian of earth, so piccalo was formed. Then Piccolo became strong by himself. So when they fuse they become the "Super Namek". He becomes the guardian of the earth, and he is the one who created the earth's Dragon shen Long, and the Dragon Balls on Earth.
-Frieza:
An extremely powerful alien, in search of the dragonballs. He can transform to 3 other stages each stronger then the other, and his name rings fear in even the ears of king Kai. He seems indestructable and is such a freaking moron! even when he has one arm and upper body, and begs goku for help, goku helps him and Frieza attacks him! however that didn't last long. However he is rebuilt as a cyborg and is killed by trunks.
-Zarbon:
The cocky alien who worked for frieza, until he fought Vegita for the second time. Even in his transformed state, he couldn't win.
-Dodoria:
The pink pink warrior of Frieza. He was quite a bully to the nameks. Until Vegeta came along. Dodoria was forced to tell Vegeta the secret of his planets destruction, and then was killed.
-Guldo:
A weak member of the ginyu force. He can freeze time and people, but was killed by Vegeta(he was pathetic)
-Jeice:
a cowardly pretty boy on the ginyu force. He is also killed by vegeta.
-Recoome:
a HUGE ginyu member who is seemingly indestructible. until Goku came, and destroyed him with ease.
-Burter:
A big blue Ginyu member. He may be one of the fastest beings in the galaxy. He sounds like a snake, and is killed by Goku.
-Captain Ginyu:
The powerful leader of the Ginyu force. He has much "style".He has the power to swith bodies. He is a frog at one point. He tries to switch out of it into Bulma but in the long run he was still the frog. He was teleported to earth and makes camio appearances.
-Android16:
16 is the most powerful android, excluding Cell, but he is very dense. He was programmed not to know, or respond to anything, unless it had something to do with Goku. He was created just to serve Dr. Gero, and to kill Goku.
-Android 17:
Android 17 is a great fighter with a lot of attitude. He has a very cold personality, but is quite cunning. Has unlimited energy reserves, cannot become tired.
-Android 18:
The beautiful amazingly dangerous twin sister of 17. Although she looks harmless, she is not. She resembles and has the almost the same power as her brother, yet she seems to be a better fighter. She is underestimated by Vegeta, and as a result, she kicks his arse! Cannot become tired, She has unlimited energy reserves.
-Android 19:
He is the strange loyal minion to Gero. He beats Goku, but that is mainly because of Goku's disease. Unlike 17 and 18, he is of the energy absorbing model of an android. These androids are easier to control. However, their energy reserves need to be replenished, either by abosring someone else's energy, or by abosrbing an attack (through there hands) he is killed by vegeta.
-Dr.Gero:
He is the creator of the androids and wants to kill goku for defeating his first army(the Red Ribbon Army). He is turned into android 20 who is a energy absorbing model. All of the androids power level cannot be sensed, so it gives them an advantage to take cover anywhere, for if they cannot be seen, they cannot be sensed.
-Cell:
The Android created by the cells left over from the Z fighters, he kills Trunks, then goes back in time. He also holds a fighting tournament known as the Cell game. He has the power to absorb things through his tail and changes his sate with the more power he absorbes. He self destructs on king Kai's planet but he regenerates himself. He absorbs 17 and 18 to reach a level of perfection.
-Gotenks:
The small but powerful warrior fused by child trunks and child goten.
-Kamiccolo:
A fusion between Kami and Piccolo Piccolo is the base of the hyper powered Kamiccolo. Formes the "Super Namek" (as powerful as android 17)
-Vegetto, and Gogeta: The powerful fused cocky forms of Vegeta and Goku. Vegetto is more poweful and was created by the Porta earrings, while Gogeta was created by the dance. When the porta earrings are used they cannot be unfused, however Vegetto was eaten by Buu, and Goku and Vegeta split up somehow while being digested, and escaped through one of Buu's pores.
-Buu:
The evil Pink wizard with copies of himself. His final stage (true buu) is the highest power level in all of Dragon ball Z. His good side fights the Z fighters but only because he is obeying Babidi. (Babidi is not really introduced in DBZ)
-Mr. Sataan:
the mysterious fighter. At one time he was known as the strongest man alive. He never was. he is just a liar.
-Dabura:
one of buu's hencheman.
-Garlic Jr:
he is the son of Garlic and appears to cause havoc from time to time. He demonizes Piccolo and Krillin
-King Yamma:
The master of the other dimension
-King Kai:
A blue martial arts master who trains people in the other dimesnsion, at the end of snake way on a small planet.
-Nail:
A brave namekian fighter, eventually he merges with piccolo for mutual advantage in the frieza saga.
-Guru:
The elderly gaurdian of Namek, he is very wise and dies in peace.
-Dende:
The helpful namek that eventually becomes the guardian of the earth, he has the power to heal people.
-Broli:
Broli is an extremely powerful super saiyan. Despite popular belief, He was the first one to reach SS. level since the last one 3000 years ago.
-Tapion:
Tapion is the brave waarioir from planet Konack. He and his brother defeated a horrible monster named Hildegard by absorbing him in their bodies and locking themselves in an oracle box.
-Hoi:
An evil magician who kills Tapion's brother with Half of hildegard, and gets the other half when he awakens tapion from the oracle.
-Gohan's girlfriend.
In the buu saga, they become crimefighters together.
