A
Stone Throw
I dropped
a stone into the water
and
watched it gently sink
as it
fell towards the bottom
I found
a moment to think.
In contemplating
each wave it left
reflecting
the open sky
I saw
clouds and birds and things
and
watched them float on by.
But
then I felt a teardrop
that
otherwise would have been lost
it spawned
a thoughtful memory
as I
wagered out the cost.
I've
often stopped to wonder
at times
to reason why
but
I can't seem to shake the feeling
that
you were the tear I cried.
