Magick and Religion
The common approach
to magick and its associated elements remains skepticism and
disbelief. So strong became the Church during medieval times,
that it destroyed the most basic faith in the unseen. Else, it
was glossed over with deep religious rhetoric that the casual
observer was left diminished and without power. Demonstrative
of this truth remand the performance of Holy Mass in Latin, the
language of the religious elite. The exclusion of the common
person from the Holy texts assured the religious hierarchy to
maintain a chokehold around the religiously mundane. One would
think that in today's age of technology and information that
such a fear would not pervade the thoughts of the upper religious
echelons.
Yet, the leaders of modern religious thought remain afraid of
unseen powers, especially powers they have no control over. For
if, it cannot be derived from a singular source of knowledge,
or even a solitary book, then it must be the "devil's"
work. Remarkable how little we have traveled from the Salem witch
trials and the fires of the Inquisition. What most folk taken
with religion, while missing a true spiritual journey, fail to
realize is that the "devil" can be nothing more than
the evil, fear, and ignorance present in the heart of Man. It
is a projected thought-form with only the power that we give
it.
It is our responsibility as light-bringers to share the flame
of our understanding. We must educate ourselves beyond prejudice
releasing our fears. Overcoming means acceptance of power. Not
merely power over fear, but Creation Power to accept fear as
a part of strength; we are created as beings of magick. This
Universal Law has been so watered down that most fail to realize
their true potential. For most of our conjuring is so sublime,
we fail to notice their potency. A glance, a wish, and a word
half-spoken: all eventually form into incantation draw us energy
and power. As we gain focus, we hone these abilities into proper
use. So, use your truth to show others the way to their magickal
destiny. For in you lies the heart of power.
