While pondering the imponderables of Life I have come upon deeper expressions of being. I have looked into the face of God and shuddered at my own reflection. For to truly know the Maker is to truly understand yourself, and all your hidden ways. Few care to delve that deeply. Even more remain uncurious. Such a world of sheep, and yet so few with the desire, or virtue, to become shepards. So what does that leave? Goats, and unemployed leaders. Amazingly, when we think we have finally found a place alone, away from all humanity, a wilderness, of sorts, that is when the Creator saddles us with tending sheep. Just ask Moses and David.
My quote for today, as posted, reads, "True enlightenment brings the realization of need"
What that means to me is that when we get to the place where we think we no longer need people, no longer need the comforts of Life, no longer need God; then we have not found enlightenment, but rather the nature of want. True enlightenment requires that we accept our needs and assimilate them into our being. Only then can the Universe meet these needs and fulfill our destiny.
So, my word for you today is that you must take care of the comforts of Life, the luxuries, and the needs will take care of themselves. Besides, what is wealth good for unless it is shared. So bless another with a word, a smile, a million dollars (crossing my fingers), whatever you have. In so doing, watch as your needs dwindle and your desire to share them grows. For as we integrate the understanding that we must need, especially need the light of the Divine, then we can grow from being needy into the giver of gifts. Which is a truly enlightened state.
