Vixen's Past: Part One Of The Vixen Chronicles

Chapter One
The planet of Thorro had always been peaceful. The people who lived there, although skilled fighters and high on weapon technology, had always loved their planet too much to bother travelling to other distant worlds. What would have been the point when they had paradise right here? The people here, unaware to them now, were created millions of years ago on another planet, made to be the perfect race. Although this isn’t true now either. Perhaps many of the people were born perfect, but even perfection can be corrupted, and the people here soon fought their way out of the planet they were imprisoned on, to become a race, not an experiment. That was over 500 years ago though, and now their world was thriving.
"Hey mom, can you see that star over there?" A tall, scarlet haired Zorroxian called her mother loudly. She was beautiful, although not a typical model teenager, with porcelain skin and large black eyes. She didn’t have a tail, unlike the male of the species, but she was still obviously inhuman, despite many of the characteristics embodied by Zorroxians. Her mother turned to look up at the sky. There was definitely a bright light moving through the sky.
"Why Vixen dear, it might not be a star, but a comet." Her mother commented, noticing how fast it was moving. She hushed her daughter inside, dinner having been made ready earlier. Unknown to them, and the rest of the residents on the planet, this was not a star or a comet, but a Saiyan battle ship, already descending on their planet, many others following. The family sat down to eat dinner, talking of minor events that had occurred during the day, unaware of impending doom hurtling towards them.
When the Saiyans landed on the planet, Vixen was in her room, getting changed. She was trying on various items of clothing, getting ready to go out with friends. She pulled on a tight pair of leather jeans, to match the lace up bodice she was already wearing. The items complimented her naturally curvy figure wonderfully. She was in the process of pulling on her favourite ankle boots when she heard the explosion. Screams coming from the room where she had just been eating. A cold sweat ran through her body, as she realised the screams had stopped, and fire could be heard licking the immaculately painted walls of her house. She grabbed a rucksack and her knife. She started to make a run for the door, to check on her family, when she found the room filling with smoke. She had no alternative but to climb out the window in her room.

As she leapt from her house and hid in some shrubbery by her window, nothing could of prepared her for the destruction she witnessed in those next few minutes. It was such a short period of time, but the damage had been done. The death around her made her heart ache and her head spin. She couldn’t believe what she was witnessing. The beautiful land she lived in was now a mass of destruction. The dead and the injured everywhere, buildings crumbling, scenic views being ripped apart by unknown sources of energy. Then there were the creatures all around. They were large and muscular, with long thin tails, and dark unruly hair. She found something about them so alluring, perhaps caused by the animal instinct that existed in Zorroxians, but had been almost demolished by the modernisation of time. She shook her head as she realised what they were doing. They were destroying her planet. No emotion showed in their eyes, no care for what they were doing, no sympathy for the beings in front of them begging for their lives. She saw some females being dragged away. She didn’t know then what was going to happen to them, and perhaps still doesn’t know now, but she didn’t want to be a part of it. She had to run before she was found. But where? Suddenly she spotted the craft. A large space craft, that could of carried hundreds, but probably carried allot less. She skimmed through the bushes, light on her feet, weighed down only by the bag on her back and the knife in the waist of her jeans which dug into her hips slightly as she crouched as low as possible. Perhaps they wouldn’t notice her? She thought. Quietly, she crept along the path, before finally making a run for the foolishly unguarded space ship. Then again, nobody else could be seen getting anywhere near the craft, slain before they could even consider where they were going. It was sheer luck Vixen had made it there unharmed. She found the cargo floor, where boxes of snatched items from previous battles were stored. She crouched among miscellaneous items and listened to the sound of destruction. Just listened and although still in disbelief, praying for it to end.

Chapter Two
Vixen didn’t know how long she had been hiding among the cargo, but she must of dozed off or blacked out at some point, as now she felt the whole ship rumbling below her as it travelled through space. She rubbed her eyes. What was she going to do? She was all alone on the craft of some violent aliens, and she had no idea where she was heading. She fought back tears as images of her now deceased family floated through her mind. How could this have happened to her? She hugged her knees, pushing them against her chest, for both warmth and comfort in the lonely room. She listened to the silence, attempting to let it calm her. Without warning she heard some voices echoing through the darkness.
"Did you say you left some food in here Raditz, I’m starving." A gruff voice sounded.
"Just hurry up and put the boxes down. We have more planets to get to, more money to be made, Nappa" came a less rough, but still sinister voice.
"What’s made you so commanding all of a sudden." Nappa (or at least that was Vixens conclusion of his name) replied, a subtle threat to Raditz that went over Vixen’s head.
"Just put the boxes over there. I’ll be back in a minute, just have to find out if Vegeta needs anything while we are here." Vixen closed her eyes waiting for the voices to go away. Luck was not with her anymore though, as footsteps echoed towards her hiding place.
"Hello then, what have we got here. A stow away from that rat planet we invaded earlier" the evil laugh of Nappa echoed loudly through the room. Vixen opened her eyes to see a large, ugly Saiyan standing over her, an evil smirk on his face. She noticed that he did not have the same thick hair as most of the Saiyans. In fact he didn’t have any. This was not her concern though, as he took a out sword from behind his back. Vixen cowered, toying with the idea of pulling out her knife, but after taking one look at the figure in front of her, realised it would be wasted effort. "Well! Stand up then!" He made a grab for her arm, aiming to pull her out from hiding. He managed to pull her up by her arm, but Vixens reaction was to defend herself, so she did, by elbowing Nappa sharply in the face. Nappa lifted an arm to his face, to find his eye sore and tender. "You bitch!" His Saiyan temper took the better of him and he swung the sword. The odd thing about what happened next was that Vixen didn’t feel any pain at the time. She certainly felt the sword hit her face and exit from her skin, but she only felt pain when she glanced down and saw blood seeping out from under her top and across her neck. She could also see blood out the corner of her eye, and felt it running down her face. It was then she cried out, from shock more than pain. Shock at the sight of her own blood, a crimson contrast to the paleness of her once pure skin.
Raditz wandered in, no extra orders making him slightly more cheerful than usual. He glanced around the room, trying to locate Nappa. He spotted him, standing in a corner with his sword out.
"Nappa, what are you doing over there?" He asked. Nappa looked up. He was about to swing the sword again at Vixen, but became distracted by Raditz’s presence.
"Come and take a look at this." Nappa called. Raditz wandered over, considering the possibilities. He was slightly shocked to see a tall, young female from the planet which they had just destroyed standing in front of them, blood running down her face.
"Why’d you do that?" Raditz asked. Nappa turned to look at Raditz, who stifled a laugh at the sight of a black eye. He was about to comment, when he decided against it, seeing as Nappa was quite a bit stronger than himself.
"I’m going to kill the rodent" Nappa yelled, raising the sword above his head. Raditz considered the options.
"Wait" he said, stopping Nappa from killing the girl. "Just leave her here, she has nowhere to go." He pulled Nappa away, explaining to him the possibility of selling the female at another planet. Nappa, much against his own will, agreed, the idea of money more appealing to his greedy nature than that of revenge (not that he didn’t enjoy revenge mind). Vixen didn’t see this though. What she saw was that Raditz had saved her from some apparent death. She felt a feeling of not just appreciation, but almost love for the raven haired creature that had just saved her life. Vixen put her hand up to her face, only to pull it away sharply at the feeling of congealing blood. She glanced around her. As much as she would of loved to stay here and find the dark angel that had just saved her, she also felt a great urgency to get as far away from this ship as possible. A plan started to hatch in her mind. It was risky, but she decided that she had no other option.

Chapter Three
Vixen sat in the small pod, unsure of how the controls worked, or where she was now heading. In the past few hours she had managed to creep out and steal a ship. Not as hard a task as you would of first thought, as the cargo bay was practically next door to the room with many small crafts, normally reserved for solo journeys by some of the stronger Saiyans (or weaker planets). Using the knife she had brought with her, she managed to make it past two Saiyan guards, who were allot weaker than those she had met previously. She toyed with the knife in her hand, admiring the art work on the blade. It was made from pure sliver, with a dragon carved along the handle and part of the blade. There were also a couple of ruby’s imbedded in the metal, forming the eyes of the dragon. She was considering the significance of this, when she felt the small pod shake around her. She looked outside, to see a storm of meteorites swarming past. She felt them crash against the side of the pod, causing it to shake more violently than before. Oh how Vixen wished she knew how to work this thing. She had been travelling for at least 5 hours now at such a fast speed. She had no idea where she was heading, but knew that she would soon find her way to another planet, and hoped that the craft would automatically head towards it. But now she was stuck, she had no idea what to do. She felt the quakes run through the whole area as she collided with more rocks. Suddenly, her head hit the wall violently. Already weakened from loss of blood in her earlier fight (not that it was actually a fight) she became instantly dizzy, a black nauseating feeling sweeping over her. She watched as yet another meteorite came directly towards her before passing out, never feeling its impact.
Vixen opened her eyes, only to be blinded by a large light in the sky above her. She glanced up quickly, to realise it was an overly large star, close to wherever she was now. Thorro had never really had a day as bright as this. In fact, to us at least, it was pretty dark on Thorro. You see, there was no nearby sun to her home planet, so day light was like dusk to her. This bright sunny day was amazingly painful to her. She suddenly became fully aware of the fact that she was no longer moving and was now on some planet. She shook her head and pushed herself out of the craft. Weakened, she pulled her way over to a tree, where she found blissful shade. For a small while, she just lay there, letting the cooling shadow calm her sore skin. She needed to get out of this bright light. Finally, she took a look at her surroundings. The grass here was an unusual bright green colour in Vixens eyes, and the sky was so unnaturally blue. She looked at a river nearby. She pulled herself over and gasped in shock at the sight which met her eyes. Blood was thick on her face, body and clothes, and her skin was starting to turn slightly pink from the exposure to the sun. Without thinking, she leapt into the water, her reflection shattering into a thousand broken pieces. She pulled herself up from the water, feeling slightly refreshed. She put her hand once again to her face. The scab had gone, but she could still feel an imprint. She pulled herself out and lay against the tree, allowing the her hair and clothing to dry, even though she was in the shade.
After a brief rest, she decided to explore. As she wandered through the grassy hills, she became increasingly aware of the lack of life. Perhaps she was alone here? An isolated planet? Or maybe she was just in empty part of town. She laughed softly to herself. The sun above her seemed to be causing a large thumping migraine in the back of her mind. ‘How could anyone put up with this weather?’ she thought to herself, unaware of the fact that this wouldn’t even be considered a warm day to most people. Soon, she found herself on the edge of a town. She was about to walk in, when she felt a wave of self consciousness sweep over her. She was still damp from her earlier voyage in the river, and must have looked terrible. She did notice a man hole though, and made a run for it. She slid down into the kool darkness. She felt much more comfortable in here. She decided then and there that this would become her hiding place during these hot hours, knowing that most planets with suns like this usually had a night fall too. Yes, she considered, this is perfect. I can spend my sleeping time in here, and my waking hours in darkness up there. She smiled contentedly, she could get used to this quite fast. The only question that still bugged her was ‘Are there any good places to hunt around here.’ As she started to doze off, after her long day, she considered. ‘I suppose I will find out. I am going to have to start a new life here, so I guess I’ll learn something new everyday." She turned over as both the playful and morbid thoughts that were dancing around in her head started to calm down. Sleep would help her. And soon she would learn something new.

Chapter Four
It had been about a month since Vixen had first arrived in this strange planet. She found her new timetable unbalanced, but in the end it worked (although not necessarily to her advantage). She spent most of her day underground, sleeping, eating and passing the time in other ways. She had even started training with small fighting techniques due to her boredom. The night time was what she longed for though. Then, she could go out, unwounded by the Earth’s piercing sun. She loved it out there. Everything seemed more alive at night. People acted like themselves, people showed themselves. Well, those who dared. The so called freaks came out at night. Imaginary evil lurked on every corner, and she was becoming part of that group to the locals. No worry’s though. She knew that it was their decision to stay away from her. She had no reason to care about them. She just got on with her life.
One night though, she was roaming through a field, hunting for tomorrows meal, when she noticed a space pod similar to the one she had stolen from the Saiyan space craft. She walked over to it. Suddenly, she read an inscription along the side of it, stating who it had last been used by. Her heart skipped a beat as she read the name out loud to herself. "R-A-D-I-T-Z. Raditz" She unknowingly grinned as she recalled the name. It belonged to the ‘kind’ Saiyan who had saved her life. She felt a great love inside her. She was not aware of the fact that he had only stopped her death at the thought of more money, and did not care for her in anyway. She wouldn’t of cared either. She followed a trail, passing a dead farmer, until she came to the edge of town again. She looked for any sign of him. With no luck she asked a nearby shop keeper.
"Tall, with long hair you say? Sounds like a guy who passed through here earlier. Looking for someone named Kakarot, his brother apparently." She thanked the man for his information and continued along her journey, asking any strangers she met along the way. A few recognised who she was talking about, but none could give her any new information. Satisfied for the night, she caught a small animal to eat for later and went back to her underground lair. Light would be coming soon, and she did not want to be caught out there.
The next night, she did the same, asking different people for new information. This night came with more satisfactory answers, from a young boy.
"Oh, you mean that tall guy with the odd glasses. Oh I saw him. He was talking to Goku, said he was his brother!" Vixen made a mental note that these earthlings used a different name from the one that Raditz used for his brother) "Someone told me they are having a really big argument, and apparently they are going to have a fight and everything." Vixen nodded and was going to say thank you, when the boy continued. "You’re that strange girl everyone talks about. Why do you only come out at night, and what’s that large, ugly mark on your face?" Vixen felt an anger sweep over her. She hadn’t looked at her reflection properly for a while. A low growling noise emitted from her throat, causing the boy to become more anxious. She growled at him fully, revealing a set of fangs that were otherwise unnoticeable. The boy ran in horror, screaming his fathers name in fear. Vixen also ran, amazed at what she had just done. She just ran and ran, until she reached the river which she had discovered when first arriving on this planet. She lay down on the ground, waiting to pant, but found she wasn’t out of breath. Slowly she pulled herself over to the river and peered in at the face staring back at her. She let out a gasp as she saw the strange mark the boy had meant. It seemed that although the wound from Nappa’s sword had fully healed, she had been left with a scar. She pulled herself further forward. It ran all the way down her face, from the corner of her left eye, until it reached about halfway down the side of her chest. She let out a sigh of defeat. Her skin was otherwise perfect. She watched her reflection closely, until noticing a fish swimming through her face. With one agile swoop, she lifted the fish out of the water. It wriggled in her hand, until she pulled out her knife and stabbed it. The fish became limp and motionless and she carried it back to her home. She had found out where she could find Raditz and was waiting till tomorrow to find him. Then she could say thank you, and after that she would proclaim her love for him. She sighed as she slid back down the manhole. She couldn’t wait until the next night.

It soon arrived. The time when she could find Raditz. She had been waiting for so long, even just to say thank you. She trotted along the path, almost skipping, thoughts of her love swirling around in her mind. She noticed a strange sight: a Namek flying through the sky with what looked like a small child in his arms. The child was sleeping? Or perhaps knocked out. It looked pretty beaten up. As she looked closer, she could of sworn she saw a resemblance in the child, of a Saiyan. She shook her head. Impossible. She continued along her way, skimming the fields around her. Suddenly she was there. She could see his space pod again. She ran over. That must of been where he had been staying these past few days. Soon she reached the pod, but saw nothing. It was quite damaged, as if something had flown out of it, or burst it at the side somehow. That didn’t keep her attention for long though, as soon she saw a sight that made her heart stop with fear. Nearby lay a dead motionless body. She ran over. It couldn’t be. She had waited so long. So very long. But it was. In front of her lay the cold, dead body of her Saiyan love. She knelt over him, wishing it not to be true. His armour had been damaged, and dried blood had seeped through the cracks and holes. She looked at his motionless face. His scouter (the strange glasses the small boy had been talking about earlier) had been removed. She ran a hand through his hair. It was allot softer than it looked, and although thick and often unruly, felt quite silky in her hands. She kissed him on the forehead, wondering if he was aware of her in the after life. She lay down, half draping herself over his lifeless body. Her love had been murdered. ‘But by who? His own brother! Surely not?’ but that was the only conclusion she could come to. She felt a deep hatred for the Saiyans now. They destroyed her planet, and everything she loved, they had scarred her for life, and most disturbingly of all, they would kill their own brother. She lay with Raditz till sunrise, before giving him one final goodbye kiss, and then leaving him. As she walked back to her underground life, she swore vengeance. Vengeance on those who had mocked her. Vengeance on the Saiyans, and most of all, Vengeance on Kakarot, for killing the only thing she had felt love for. Now everything was gone.
