Lost Friendship

Betrayal
Alanna and Raditz walked together. Raditz was in severe pain, caused by a beating he had taken earlier. Alanna was also in severe pain, but not the physical kind. Hers was much further down in her soul. She sighed deeply.
"Why?" she finally said. Raditz glanced up.
"Why?" he repeated, questioning the word as if it were in a foreign language.
"Why did you do it again. You knew you couldn't win. And now you have isolated both of us." Raditz looked up at the sky. The stars were slowly forming in the infinite navy sea above them, serving him only a reminder of his lost home, and his lost family.
"I just never realised how quick Kakarot was. My skill has improved. I can reach two Super Saiyan levels now. I just never knew, never knew how strong he had become. Nor did I know about how many people would be supporting him." Alanna looked away as he continued. "Everyone was on his side, even my prince. Well, everyone, except you." Alanna sighed once again.
"I believed in you. I thought you weren't going to go through with it. I thought you would realise defeat."
"I thought I was alone." Raditz said again, ignoring the girls words. When he had come back to this planet, although he had not expected support, he had expected a lot less opposition. He had never bargained on all he was against. In that whole time, the only person not participating in the battle against him, was the girl walking beside him. She had tried to help him many times. She had saved his life, stopping Vegeta from taking that final blow. He glanced down at her face, dejected, cold and miserable.
"We can sleep here tonight." he pointed out a tiny clearing in the forest they had been ambling through. He made a small ki blast between his fingers and lit a fire. He sat down in front of it. Alanna stared at him, before also kneeling on the ground, sitting at the opposite side of the flames. He watched the girl, with a look of both apprehension and curiosity on his face. He didn't understand this human. She had attempted to save his life. She had left the battle scene with him, with only a moments hesitation, and yet, she was so sad looking. He continued to stare at her. Her skin was so pale, white in comparison to his tanned, slightly worn skin. Her hair was a shade close to the golden colour of a Super Saiyans, but hung loose around her face. Her body, although not petite, was delicate and more feminine in comparison to that of even the female Saiyans he had known. Finally there were her eyes, large, with long dark lashes framing them. a deep green colour inside, speckled with hints of brown, unnoticeable in daylight, but obvious in front of the fire they were sitting by. He continued to observe her, choosing to ignore the tears slowly falling from those two large eyes. He was confused by this girl and her strange actions. She would be an interesting travelling partner.

Alanna sat in front of the fire. What a day it had been. She had lost all the friends she had earned in her life, to have them replaced by the vagrant she had observed, and longed for from afar. The day had started off so calmly, she and her friend Natasha talking to Goku and Vegeta. And then the noise had been heard. Through some turn of events, Raditz had found a loophole from the other dimension, that had led him here. He was seeking revenge on Kakarot, not only for holding him so he could be killed, but for getting back to this world without him. His motive seemed vague to Alanna, but clear to him. She had remembered laying eyes on him, her heart skipping a beat, unbelieving of what stood in front of her. Oh how she had wanted to run up to him, to find him in her arms, but somehow couldn't. And then the fight erupted. She saw him go Super Saiyan, the first time she saw that golden aura around him, his eyes matching Goku's. Then followed the intense battle, the many lives lost. Everyone had become involved. Even Natasha stood on the sidelines. Alanna had stood next to her, but her eyes never lost sight of Raditz. A couple of times, there intense stares met, but nothing was ever said. Finally Raditz was down on the ground, Vegeta ready to finish him off. Everyone staring open mouthed in anticipation, and then their eyes met again. The stare was more than intense, it was intimate, he begged for her help. So Alanna did. She was the one who delivered that cheap shot, distracting Vegeta for the split second needed for Raditz to escape. He stood behind Alanna, before grabbing her roughly and holding her before him, as a shield.
"Why Alanna..." Natasha had whispered, as she realised what her friend had done. Alanna didn't struggle to escape from the Saiyan's grip, nor to explain to her friends. She had allowed herself to be taken away, the consequences she suffered, were choices she had made herself. Everyone in front of her had a look of disgust, of deep rooted betrayal as she left. She had lost them all, and gained new enemies. Even her best friend just shook her head. And now Alanna was alone, alone with only one person for company. She had thought she had wanted him so bad. But was only now aware of mistakes she had made. ‘Still..’ she thought, still unaware of his steady gaze on her. ‘Maybe my dreams will come true…’
