Learning The Spirit: Part Four Of The Vixen Chronicles
Two years had past since Vixen had first left the lives of the Z Senshi. It is true, they could have found her had they wanted to, but somehow it never seemed right. Now Vixen sat, late at night, holding a small figure in her arms. It was her son, Raditz’s son, his final gift to her. She smiled as she looked down at the small figure. He looked a lot like his father. True, he had her eyes and her pale skin, but he had Raditz’s Saiyan muscles, hair and tail. He snored very slightly in her arms. He was only two years old, but like most Zorroxians, matured fast. She stroked his hair, before laying him down on a small patch of grass, slightly damp from already settling dew and covering him with a small blanket. She smiled upon him, before laying down next to him. The moon didn’t shine on them, as it had been destroyed a while ago and the sky was almost hidden by tall, sheltering branches of willow trees, but an eerie, yet mystical glow basked both their faces. Raditz’s sullen figure also watched over them, a spirit lurking briefly in this dimension. He couldn’t believe it. He had a son, a rare and beautiful gem that was a gift to him , something that couldn’t be taken away, not now anyway. Even though he was in hell, Raditz believed he had found happiness, in fact, he had given happiness to the one person who ever loved him. He floated down to the ground, and knelt next to Vixen. His spirit lips touched hers briefly.
"Goodnight my precious." He whispered. He kissed his son on the forehead too, before floating back into the air, preparing to exit this dimension back into the next, an easy thing to do once you had mastered the spirit world. Vixen turned over in her sleep.
"Goodnight Raditz." She whispered back, subconsciously perhaps, but meaning every word all the same. Raditz smiled, and left them in peace. But as the two alien figures slept, a figure, not of this world but at least in their dimension, also floated above them, watching them with great interest. He felt their spirit, their mind, their very soul, searching for something. He found it, it’s presence causing him to smile. He turned his back to them. and as he transported himself away, he looked for his next destination.
"Prince Vegeta." He said out loud "I realised there were remaining Saiyan’s on this planet, but the prince I would not of believed. Nor would I have believed you if you had told me about the other species living here. What rare treats we have, to feed on, to infest." He smiled maliciously. "Sleep tight now, for soon you will realise that you had never truly opened your eyes." Were his last words, before he disappeared into the night air, a veil of darkness cloaking any previous signs of his presence.
Chapter One
Vegeta rose from his slumber, training being his first thought in the morning. He pulled on some clothing, and made his way out the house, thoughts of waking his son entered his mind, but he dismissed them. The boy could have rose earlier had he wanted to train too. ‘Maybe I’ll go to Kakarot’s’ he thought to himself, continuing his way down the path. ‘Yes, I could train with him briefly. And then I will come back here for breakfast’ He started to float up into the air, in a slightly absent minded manner, before a sudden pain in is head caused him to fall back down. He looked up from the place where he had landed, to see a cloaked figure standing above him.
"Who are you?" he demanded, as he realised the pain in his head had been caused by the mysterious strangers curled up fist.
"It is not who I am that should be bothering you, Prince Vegeta, but why I am? Why was I created, and why had I searched out you?" Vegeta pulled an expression similar to the one you would give a clinically insane person. The strange man continued "Tell me, how many creatures on this planet have Saiyan blood." Now this question Vegeta could answer.
"There is I, my son Trunks, Kakarot and Kakarot’s two sons Gohan and Goten. And what has made you so interested to know?"
"Probably the fact that you were wrong." Vegeta shot a glare at the man.
"Wrong? How can I be wrong. Are you telling me that someone I mentioned is no longer on the list." Vegeta started to narrow his eyes, believing this to be the mans way of telling him he had slain a noble Saiyan. But the man shook his head.
"On the contrary, it is the fact that you have missed out one half Saiyan." Vegeta gasped. That was impossible! There were no other Saiyans alive, and as far as he knew there was no chance that any other humans had been with any of the full blooded Saiyans . The man seemed to read his mind. "I never said it was also half human. It’s amazing, but I never knew about Zorroxian life on this planet." Vegeta’s mind started to work fast. Was this man suggesting what he thought he was. But that too was impossible! "I’ll return when you are more educated, loyal prince." And with that the man disappeared from Vegeta’s sight. Vegeta also curled his fist into a ball, realising that he had been denied information. Well, he would just have to find out for himself. He would find out if it was true, and then find out how it was true ‘if’ that was so. He stormed back into his house, unsure of how to go about the deed he had set himself. Bulma watched as he paced up and down impatiently.
"I don’t believe this!" he exclaimed. "For two years, two whole years, there has been another member of our race among us, and I did not know! Me, the Saiyan prince was not aware: This is an outrage!!" Bulma soothed him.
"What’s wrong Vegeta? What are you talking about?" Vegeta stopped briefly to glare at his wife.
"Somebody has told me that Vixen has a child, a Saiyan child, and I was not informed. But that’s impossible!" He started pacing again. Bulma looked thoughtful for a moment.
"No, it’s not entirely impossible." Vegeta once again looked up at his wife. "Remember when she reincarnated Raditz, and then disappeared for that week with him. We didn’t see her that whole time. She could of, well, you know, while they were gone." Vegeta thought again.
"Of course! I never thought of Raditz! Damn her!! And she didn’t tell me? Well, I am going to go pay her a visit."
"Can I come?" Bulma asked "I would so love to see Vixens child. He’d be two years old by now, bless him!" Vegeta glared at his wife.
"No! You are staying here." Bulma pouted.
"Vegeta! Come on! Please?" He gave no reaction. "Please??" still nothing "PLEEEEAAAASSSEEE??"
"Oh Alright!" he yelled. He hated when his wife played dirty tricks like that on him, her infernal begging seemed to split his head in two. He swooped her up into his arms, before exiting the house and taking up into the air. For the first five minutes, the prince’s wife was taut in his arms, but Bulma relaxed a little as they stayed at a steady altitude. She trusted her husband perfectly when it came to flying, it was everything else she was wary of.
Vixen held her sword in her hand, so that it was upright in front of her son.
"Now, take hold of it." She instructed. He automatically reached out a hand. "No, no, no, not with your hand, with your mind. Just visualise it floating, and hold it there, and command it to stay like that." She held it in her hand still, before feeling just the slightest weight change in the sword. She let go, and watched proudly as her son’s eyes widened in shock as he realised he was holding it by himself.
"Mum, mum! I’m doing it! I’m doing it!" He shouted proudly.
"Yep, do you know what that technique is called?" he shook his head, a long mane of hair, identical to that if his fathers, shaking behind him. "That is called telekinesis." She informed him. The small boy mouthed the word.
"What does it mean?" he asked. Vixen paused.
"It’s what you call being able to move objects with your mind."
"Can I move anything? I mean anything at all?".
"When you get stronger, yes, but some things might be too difficult right now."
"Oh" Vixen watched as her son still held the sword in mid air.
"Try moving it around." She suggested. A look of deep concentration came over the boys face, and he bit his lip, before successfully moving it to the left by a few inches. "Well done!" Vixen almost clapped. The little Saiyan/Zorroxian started moving it around in all directions, mesmerised by this new found ability. A sudden thump came from behind them.
"I KNEW IT!" Vegeta’s voice boomed out. The sword clattered to the ground as the two year olds shock registered in his mind. Another voice? He hadn’t met anyone else. He didn’t know about anyone else. He looked up to see a not particularly tall man, with upright spiky hair, similar to his own in colour, storm over to his mother. He protectively ran forward, but stopped as he became distracted by another being. This being reminded him of his mother, because of her more feminine physique, and voice. She had pretty turquoise hair, much shorter than his mom’s. He walked over to her, curious. This must be a girl, like his mum. And that, he looked back at the other character he had just met, must be a boy like him.
"You have a son! How can you not tell me you have a son?! He is a Saiyan, probably being deprived of training for that matter." Vixen sighed as she prepared for an argument with Vegeta (she had forgotten about his naturally bad tempered nature) but before anything else was said, the two became distracted by a conversation going on behind them.
Bulma knelt down so that she was level with the small child.
"Hello there. My name is Bulma. What is yours?" She held out a hand. The boy smiled shyly.
"My mom calls me Bardock." He moved his tail from around his waist and rested it in Bulma’s hand. Vegeta looked up at Vixen.
"You called him Bardock?"
"After his grandfather, yes." Bulma and Bardock (JR’s) conversation continued.
"That’s a really nice name." Bulma smiled. Bardock grinned back at her.
"My mom says it is after my grandfather. She says he is a Saiyan, like my dad."
"Do you know your dad?" Bulma asked. Bardock shook his head.
"I never met him, because he died before I was born. But I know he is a Saiyan, and that his name is Raditz and my mommy says he is the most wonderful person in the world and was a strong fighter. She says I look like him too. Did you know him?" Bulma nodded as she recalled the last time she had seen him. "Do I look like him?" She analysed the boy.
"Yeah kid. You look a lot like your dad. You look like your mom too." He smiled again, something he seemed prone to doing.
"My mom is a Zorroxian. Are you a Zorroxian? You don’t look like one, or a Saiyan." Bulma shook her head.
"No, I am a human." Bardock tried out the word on his lips. "That" Bulma pointed to Vegeta "is a Saiyan." Bardock looked at Vegeta.
"He has funny hair." Bardock started to giggle, before he ran over, and floated up next to Vegeta, so that he was level with his face.
"What do you want, brat?" Vegeta asked. Bardock let out a devilish grin, before yanking Vegeta’s hair.
"You have funny hair." He said one more time, before floating up into his mothers arms. Bulma walked over.
"You can’t stay out here Vixen." She said, concern in her voice. "You have a child now, you need a proper place to live." Vixen sighed.
"We are fine. It’s not like we have anywhere else to go."
"Come live with us." Bulma said shortly.
"What!?" Vegeta yelled.
"I insist on it." Bulma said. Vixen looked around her.
"Are you sure you have enough room?"
"Yeah, I could always just add an extension if I wanted one." Vixen sighed.
"Well, maybe."
"That’s a yes. Come on." Bulma pulled Vixen along. Vegeta scowled. Great, he thought he wouldn’t have to worry about lodgers again for a long while, but as usual was mistaken. He looked up into the sky. Maybe he should have told Vixen about the strange guy he met, who knew about her and Bardock. But no, he wouldn’t do that. Not until he knew there was a threat.
Chapter Two
Vegeta tossed and turned in his sleep. Bad dreams were haunting him, hurting him. The laughing face of that mysterious stranger, who had told him about Vixen’s child, Bardock. Though not only the strangers face was in his dreams, but Bardock’s too (the child, not the warrior). That child’s innocence seemed to be mocking him, warning him perhaps. Vegeta wiped away beads of sweat on his forehead as the dream continued. He felt like screaming, but that was not a reaction he was prone to making. Instead he lay still, letting the dream swirl round him in a breeze of malice. A sudden weight hit his chest, causing him to jolt back into reality. Vixen was sitting on top off him, tipping her head slightly to one side as she watched him yell in shock.
"Why the hell are you sitting on me?? Get off!!" he yelled, pushing Vixen onto the floor. She rubbed her back.
"Hey, Bulma sent me to wake you up, and you were having a bad dream, so I woke you. What were you dreaming about anyway?" Vegeta scowled. He didn’t like being sat on, especially when he was asleep.
"None of your business." He shortly replied. He sat upright on the sofa he had dozed of on before addressing a more important issue "Has Bulma got food ready?" he asked, but Vixen had already walked off, skittish now that she was in an enclosed space, and taking advantage of the fact she could freely explore his household.
Meanwhile, Bardock sat upstairs in Trunks bedroom. Trunks was out at the moment, but he and Bardock had been introduced. Bardock was feeling slightly lonely. His mom had been going around trying to catch up with old friends, and he had been left trying to make new ones, and if the honest truth were told he wasn’t very good at it. Bulma walked into the room and sat down next to him. Young Bardock smiled. He liked Bulma, she was nice to him.
"Hi kid, how you doing?" she asked. He grinned at her.
"I am ok. How are you?" she smiled back. He was very polite for a Saiyan.
"Not so bad. Would you like to come down and say hi to your uncle?"
"My uncle?" Bardock asked.
"Your dads brother, Goku." She explained.
"I thought my dads brother was called Kakarot." Bulma shook her head.
"That’s his Saiyan name. Most people call him Goku."
"Ok." Bardock said. Bulma took his hand and led him down the stairs "Bulma?"
"Yes?"
"Do I have another name?" Bulma resisted laughing at the young child.
"Probably not." She walked him into the living room, where Goku was sitting on the couch, Trunks was with him, but Goten was at home with Chichi, having been grounded for some miscellaneous bad deed.
"Woah!" Goku exclaimed upon the sight of Bardock. "You look a lot like my brother, only shorter, plus you don’t have a scouter." Bardock scratched his head in confusion. He considered asking what a scouter was, but decided to save that for another time.
"Hi Uncle Kakarot." He said quietly. Goku placed a hand on his head and ruffled his hair.
"Isn’t he adorable!!" Bulma said, clasping her hands together for the effect. Goku smiled at Bulma’s still maternal attitude. Vixen held out a hand to her son, who ran over to her, jumping up onto her lap in a clingy manner.
"Is he being trained?" Goku asked.
"Sort off. He has been taught a few psychic attacks for the Zorroxian part of him, but I am useless at ki attacks, they just aren’t in my blood." She replied. "Maybe you could teach him a few things, Goku." She suggested. "I am definitely not letting my son go through the sadistic ritual Vegeta calls training." The two laughed, as did Trunks, who was fully aware of just how bad his father could be.
"Well it did you the world of good!" Vegeta growled from the corner of the room he was hiding in. "You were useless before I helped train you."
"You nearly killed me through starvation and cremation!" she exclaimed loudly.
"Hush woman!" Vegeta scowled some more. "You discovered your wings didn’t you."
"Only because you drove me to suicide." The rest of the room had grown silent now as the two argued with one another. Bardock and Trunks looked at each other, realising the deep rooted friendship the fighting pair had in their miniature arguments. Bulma and Goku just exchanged knowing glances. They had seen this happen quite a few times before, mainly when Vixen was living with the Brief family. Bulma sighed. ‘Perhaps I should have remembered those arguments when I invited Vixen to live here.’
Raditz hung in the air outside his princes household. He didn’t feel comfortable entering there, although he supposed he had best get used to it fast if Vixen were to be staying inside that household. He listened to Vegeta and Vixen arguing, fearing that a proper fight would break out. As he listened to the slightly echoing voices, he became aware of another presence. He made sure he was totally invisible, before turning around to see what had caught his attention. A strange cloaked figure floated in the air, one he had seen before. He watched as the figure circled the house in front of him, smelling the air, talking out loud to himself.
"Ah, so many spirits, all so young, all so strong." For a moment he turned to face Raditz. "Another spirit?" he questioned out loud. "Don’t get distracted Tetsuo" he said to himself. "Now, to expose their body’s so I can claim their souls." He held his hands up in the air. Raditz’s eyes widened as he realised a ki attack was being formed in between the mans palms, getting increasingly larger. He had to warn them.
‘VIXEN!’ a voice shot through the tall females mind.
"OW!" she placed a hand to her head, and leant forward as a thick fog seemed to fill her thoughts.
"Are you alright?" Goku asked, but got no response as Vixen seemed distracted by something else
"Raditz?" she said. ‘Yes it is me. Listen, I can’t talk for long. I am warning you, you are in grave danger, protect yourself, and everyone else in the house now.’
"What?" she said out loud ‘Don’t question me, just do it!’ the urgency in his voice made her listen. The head ache disappeared and Vixen found herself in reality.
"Are you alright?" Bulma asked. Vixen shook her head. She stretched her palms in the air, her eyes starting to go murky. She took a deep breath
"What is she doing?" Bardock asked. Everyone else sat in silence, asking the same question in their mind.
"Black deflection shield!" she cried, and a flash seemed to go through the house as everyone found themselves swamped by a black mist, blinding them from their surroundings. And just at that moment Tetsuo released his ki blast, exploding the house into smithereens, replacing the walls and interior with nothing but charred ashes.
Raditz watched as the house crumbled before his eyes, revealing the crouched figures that were inside. He watched an invisible mist cleared around everyone and let out a deep sigh of relief. Everything was ok, nobody was hurt and Vixen’s shield had worked. Everyone looked around them in awe, except Vixen, who had finally let her hands drop, and was panting, slightly out of breath from the surprise attack.
"How did you do that!?" came a voice. Everyone turned up to be faced with Tetsuo. "Was it you Prince Vegeta? Did you know about my attack." Vegeta stared open mouthed. Was it that same man he had met before who had caused this destruction. Maybe he should have told everyone about this strange man after all.
"No, it was I." Vixen stood upright. "And who are you, and what, might I ask, do you think you are doing here?" Tetsuo laughed at her boldness.
"Oh sweet Vixen." He continued laughing, causing Raditz to narrow his eyes defensively. "My name is Tetsuo, but my name is not of matter. It is my aim that should matter." Vixen raised an eyebrow as he continued. "I am known as the spirit catcher, as that is what I do. I catch your spirits, your souls, your very lifelines for my personal collection. Rare beauty is obvious around here, and how I long to lay my hands on it all." Goku pulled himself up from the ground.
"So why are you here? And why did you destroy their home." He gestured towards most of the company around him.
"Ah, Kakarot, a rare full blooded Saiyan without a Saiyan mind." He smiled "As my name would imply, I came to collect your souls before they reached the other dimension, by separating them from their bodies."
"You wanted to kill us!" Goku gasped.
"I suppose you could say that, but it appears something stopped me." He turned round to look straight at Vixen. "Well then, I suppose I will just have to think of another way." He grinned evilly "He lifted his cloak up to cover his face and started whispering to himself, the words inaudible to everyone else. Most people looked around at each other confused, before Vegeta jumped into the air.
"Big Bang Attack!" he yelled, sending the attack straight for Tetsuo. The man glanced up and watched as the attack hurtled towards him, before a few feet in front of him, it disintegrated into mere energy particles.
"Foolish prince." He said "Attacks are useless on a being of my kind" He continued whispering to himself, before ripping the cloak from his back and throwing it into the air. It floated high, before seeming to explode into a million particles, knocking everyone onto the ground.
"I’ll come back to claim my catch later." He laughed, before disappearing into what was now dusk.
As smoke filled the area, Vixen looked up. Something was wrong, she felt light headed, and could see everything around her in a birds eye view, including herself. She coughed some more, before drifting into a deep but pained sleep.
Vixen woke abruptly. She felt different somehow, but now that she looked around her everything seemed alright. She wasn’t light headed anymore at least. ‘My son!’ she suddenly thought, panic seeming to catch her breath. She spotted Bardock’s body lying on the ground, and ran over as fast as possible. She pulled him towards her.
"Are you alright?" she asked, fighting back tears of worry.
"Yeah, I am fine Vegeta." Her son replied. ‘What?’ Vixen looked down at where she was gripping her son’s shoulder. She let out a gasp of shock as it came to her realisation that her hands were now gloved in white leather, and a lot more muscular.
"What the…." She slowly turned round to see a figure, herself, her own body staring back at her. She immediately felt woozy, and sat down, at which point she realised the fact that everything was on a different scale, a slightly smaller one.
"Who are you?" she pointed to herself, and then, as she looked around, she realised the confused look on everyone’s faces.
Raditz looked around him. He was no longer floating in the air, but was sitting on the ground. ‘Strange?’ he thought to himself. And then something caught his attention. ‘Wait a minute, I can feel a heart beat, and breath.’ He stopped to look up. Something was very wrong here. He looked as he saw Vixen and Vegeta stand up to look at one another.
"Who are you?" They simultaneously asked. Raditz shook his head in confusion, disturbed not to feel the familiar weight of hair underneath it. ‘what is going on here?’
Chapter Three
"Who are you?" Vixen wobbled slightly on her feet as she looked at her own body, pointing at her, accusing her. How could this be. That was her. She was talking to herself. But if that was her, than who was she? She looked down to the ground. White boots, tight blue material, muscles, but she seemed shorter than usual.
"Oh my God, I’m Vegeta!" she yelled, quite scared not to hear her own voice, but that of an extremely unhappy Saiyan Prince. Then she heard her own voice sound somewhere in front of her.
"What? This is impossible! How am I in Vixens body!?" Then, a look of realisation came across his (or more correctly Vixens face). "Tetsuo…." He curled her hands into fists. "YOU BASTARD!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Vixen (in Vegeta’s body) slumped to the floor.
"I can’t believe this. This just isn’t fair." She sighed loudly "I’M SHORT!!" Vegeta, seeming a little off balance in his new body, stormed over to where she was sitting on the floor.
"Hey! I am not too happy with this new arrangement either you know. I’m female!! I’m not even a Saiyan any more!" The two arguing suddenly became aware of a pained moaning sound coming from someone near them.
"Bardock?" Vixen asked. Vegeta narrowed his (her) eyes.
"No. That’s not Bardock, that’s….."
"It’s Bulma!" came the small child’s voice, but tinged with an attitude that could only mean the feisty female.
"Then where’s my son?" Vixen asked, feeling extremely irritated at being in this new body.
"Mom?" came a small voice. The three revived turned round to face a now sitting up Trunks. "Who am I mom? And which one of you are my mom?" Vixen let out a sigh of relief, which sounded more like one of annoyance in the Saiyans body.
"My God, this is confusing." The now young and Saiyan Bulma said.
Meanwhile, Goku floated in the air as a spirit. "What has just happened?" he rubbed his eyes. "Wait a minute? I’m dead!" he had been listening to most of Vixen, Bardock, Vegeta and Bulma’s conversation, and was extremely confused. Now that Goku was in spirit form, he could see everything as it truly was. When he looked at Vegeta, although he could see the Saiyan’s body, he could see an almost transparent image of Vixen when he looked close enough, surrounding the Saiyan like an aura of past dreams. And then, when he looked at Vixen, he could see the extremely irritated looking Saiyan Prince. "But if I’m here." He spoke out loud, despite the fact that nobody could here him. "Then who’s in my body?" he squinted at himself, still lying half dazed on the floor. "Trunks!?" he exclaimed. "Oh man! Maybe I should try and sort this out first. Now lets see: Bulma is in Bardock’s body" he squinted his eyes as he looked around the assorted spirits and bodies, listing on his fingers. "Vegeta is in Vixens body, Vixen’s in Vegeta’s. Trunks is in mine, Bardock is in Trunks’, but then, why haven’t I swapped bodies?" he suddenly noticed an extremely confused looking Bulma sitting up in the corner. But wait, that wasn’t Bulma "Raditz?" Goku started to laugh. "OH MAN, this is so, so funny! My brother is in Bulma’s body." Goku suddenly realised that his brother was looking straight at him, most likely only just realising what was going on.
"Kakarot!" Bulma’s body raised a hand and pointed at Goku’s spirit, apparently still being able to see spirits despite his new physical form. "What is going on here?"
"Kakarot!" Vixen, Vegeta and Bulma stopped trying to explain to a very confused Bardock why he was in Trunks body and why his mum was now Vegeta to look at Bulma’s body.
"Now who are you?" Vegeta asked from inside Vixen’s body.
"Why are you in my body??" Bulma yelled, stamping her foot, almost treading on her newly acquired floor length hair.
"What the…." Raditz looked down, only to realise that not only was he not wearing Saiyan armour (in fact he was wearing something much more revealing) but also…. "Oh my God I have women’s….." he trailed off, suddenly blushing at the realisation of what he had "things."
"And you better keep your hands off those things!" Bulma yelled, taking full advantage of the threat a Saiyan can get in their voice.
"Just tell us who you are?" An exasperated Vegeta yelled, getting pretty tired of being so confused and also sick of hearing his voice half an octave higher.
"I’m Raditz!!" and then Vixen (in Vegeta’s body) passed out. Vegeta scratched his head, before realising he had got a long nail caught in his hair
"DAMNIT! This is why Saiyan’s have their hair spiked out the way they do!" he walked over and, even though it was thoroughly traumatising for him out do so, picked his body from the ground. He carried himself indoors, into a small training room located nearby. Bulma shrugged her Saiyan shoulders, before beckoning Bardock (in Trunks body) to follow her as she followed her husband in doors. She suddenly stopped as she glanced over to where her own body was still sitting up right, looking extremely intrigued.
"STOP LOOKING AT MYSELF!!" she yelled, before walking inside. Goku still floated in the air, watching the charade with great discomfort. "Great." He sighed. "We better find a way to sort this out soon."
Inside the building, everyone who had just been involve in ‘the incident’ sat around, including Goku, who was sitting on the floor, being watched painfully closely by Raditz, the only one aware of his presence, having just emerged from that state himself.
"This is really creepy." Bulma said. Everyone in the room now fully understood what was going on and who each person really was. The attitude, although very confused and slightly worried, was a lot more relaxed than before.
"So why did this happen in the first place?" Vegeta asked. Vixen glowered at him.
"I don’t like your body you know." She said, ignoring his question. "I feel so short, and my hair is weird, and why do you have so much energy? I just feel like bouncing off the walls. This is so frustrating." She banged her fist against the ground, before jumping back as it shook beneath her. "See what I mean!!" Vegeta narrowed his eyes at her.
"You should be honoured of where you are at the moment. I am the one who has to live with the disgust of vermin such as yourself being even vaguely near me, let alone in the position we are now in. And where the hell are your power levels? I feel so weak in this body."
"I think I am getting the worst deal here!" Bulma chimed in. "I went from being a fully grown, gorgeous woman to being a two year old child with a tail. You two don’t have room to complain."
"What’s wrong with my tail. My mom says it is perfectly natural to have a tail if I am part Saiyan." Bardock said from chibi-Trunks body.
"Well I am fine with my body at the moment." Said Trunks, "Kakarot has such an amazing power level, although it is strange not to be in my own. I think if anyone got the worst it was Raditz." Trunks started to laugh, as did Vegeta, Vixen and (even though only Raditz could hear him) Goku. Bulma and Raditz glowered.
"It’s not funny! How dare you all laugh at a Saiyan warrior!" Raditz failed to sound in the least bit scary with Bulma’s voice, causing even more hysterics to erupt throughout the room.
"Hey! There is nothing wrong with my body!" yelled Bulma.
"If anyone got the worst deal it is my brother. He is stuck in the non existent form I was once in." Everyone suddenly became aware of the fact that Goku had not been involved in anything of the past few minutes.
"Where is Kakarot?" Vegeta announced.
"Had I not made it clear, prince." Raditz sighed "He is a spirit, without a body, just floating, almost non-existent to any of us."
"You mean he is dead." Vegeta said, no emotion coming out in his voice.
"No, I mean he has no place to go, so he just floats here as a vagrant spirit. He is sitting among us right now, listening to your foolish conversations on such trivial matters, when really we should be concerned with why this Tetsuo guy did this to us, how it gained him in any way. Heh, I suppose you all think you the answer is obvious, but I believe I have worked it out, and we are all in deep trouble. Well, I am not going to complain. I am enjoying being able to breathe for a few moments longer, heh, heh." Vixen looked at Raditz in a loving way, ignoring the fact that he was in her friends body, but staring at his eyes, the only part of them that seemed to change. She noticed that even while he was talking, his eyes kept travelling between his sons body and his sons soul, not knowing which one to stare at.
Goku sighed as his brother finally told everyone what was going on, and told them where he was. He had to admit, he was slightly annoyed that they hadn’t noticed his absence until now, but his concerns were slightly different now, as he noticed a small, black feathered, but almost falcon shaped bird had landed on the window ledge. It fluttered to the floor, still unnoticed by the group. As he stared longer at, he suddenly realised why this bird concerned him so. It was Tetsuo! ‘Oh my God.." Goku though. ‘what can I do, what can I do!’
"Raditz!" he yelled out, to find himself being ignored by his brother, too busy considering something in his own mind. "Raditz, will you listen to me!" he tried again, with no such luck. "For god’s sake Raditz, Tetsuo is in the room right now and you guys aren’t even aware! Listen to me, tell the others, because I can’t myself!!" Raditz suddenly clicked back into the real world.
"What did you say Kakarot?" But too late. Before Goku had a chance to retell his story, The bird transformed into the tall, dark figure of Tetsuo.
"Freeze." He said, clicking his fingers to, and ironically enough, everyone in the room did so, even Goku in his spirit form. "Foolish people, you should of known better than to sit around. I thought the answer to why I did this was obvious, but apparently none of you were smart enough to work it out. Well, Raditz certainly was, he has seen such occurrences in the after-world before, but was obviously a bit too selfish to share it, not even with his own love, or son." Vixen growled under her breath. She hated not being in her own body, as had she been so, she was sure she could have found a way to fight out of this simple freeze. It wasn’t even as strong as the hold she had used on Kakarot during that battle they had waged.
‘Vixen.’ A voice cut through her mind.
‘Vegeta!?’ she replied silently, recognising his harsh voice immediately. ‘I see you have learned how to use your mind for once.’
‘Stop talking woman! I have seen you do things like this before, now tell me how to get out of it.’
Tetsuo continued talking, unaware of the instructions Vixen was now passing to Vegeta telepathically.
"Now, just for a brief explanation. I believe I already told you that I wished to collect your spirits, and also I told you that they couldn’t be attached to your own body. Well, guess what? They are no longer attached to your own bodies. And are simply mine for the taking." He started to laugh as the realisation dawned on everyone. "Now, now!" he continued laughing "It won’t take that long, and won’t hurt a bit!" he raised a hand, revealing a small bottle in his hand, tiny and ornate, seemingly moulded from crystal.
"Now, I command your spirits, I ask the Shingami to forgive me for cheating him out of your souls, but this is a bargain I really couldn’t resist." He pulled the lid of the bottle, and stepped slowly towards Goku’s body.
"A mixed race, half Saiyan, half human I sense. Quite unusual, well, not a pure being, but still a good soul, very powerful, very honoured." He beckoned with his hands, and for a split second a grey form was seen emerging from the man’s body, only to be pulled into the bottle. Goku’s body slumped to the floor. He moved onto another person, this time Bulma’s body. He looked closely, before screwing his eyes up in annoyance.
"You… Raditz, I forgot! You of course are already dead, already taken to the other dimension before I could catch you. Pity. Still, might as well send you back now." He summoned the spirit in a similar way to how he had caught Trunks’, but this time the spirit took Raditz spirit form and floated up next to Goku’s.
"Hey bro." He said casually, despite the dire event going on around them. Goku looked away. He hadn’t spoken to his so called brother in a long time, and didn’t like his non apathetic attitude. Raditz nudged him in the ribs, and pointed towards the place where Vegeta and Vixen sat, talking telepathically. "Listen to the plan." And Goku, despite earlier anger, did so.
‘For god’s sake stop moaning and try it.’ Vixen almost yelled.
‘This isn’t easy woman!’ he snarled back at her.
‘Just command yourself to do it, and it will happen, make it happen, just command it to do so. You are a prince, you’d have thought that would of made you more powerful.’ Vegeta growled.
‘Fine then. I will prove to you I can do this.’ He slowly, and without Tetsuo noticing, stood up. Vixen smiled. She knew very well that the only way to get Vegeta to do something was insult him.
"I command all spirits to return to their correct positions!" he yelled. For a split second there was silence, before a rush of energy engulfed the room.
"You fool!!" yelled Tetsuo, as he desperately tried to catch a few of the escaping spirits. And then everything was quiet again. Tetsuo dropped his eyes into slits.
"Oh sure, you think you have saved a few of them, but I will only return." Tetsuo vanished, most likely travelling to a far away destination.
Vegeta sat up. He was in his own body again! Oh how good it felt, that familiarity, although he had kind of liked being tall. He realised that many people had been captured, and that his own son was among them. He knew he needed to get them back. He had to, as a father and as a husband who could be in harm of being hurt if he didn’t.
"Now, we need to follow that man, and free the captured." He said, trying to sound as caring and noble as possible. "Now, who do we have left?" Vixen sat up, as did Bulma. Vegeta looked around desperately. "That can’t be all." He muttered.
"Well, Raditz’s spirit is here too." Vixen added, in the hope of adding some optimism to the situation. Vegeta sighed. ‘My army consists of myself, a human shaped fox who uses her mind to do so called attacks, my wife who doesn’t fight and a Saiyan warrior whose power level has probably not improved in the slightest since we last met, not that it would matter anyway, because he is dead.’ Vegeta looked up once more.
"Shit!"
Chapter Four
Vegeta tapped his foot impatiently, as he waited for his wife and Vixen to get ready.
"How long can it take to get ready?" he yelled "When I was still working for Frieza, if we were given a mission we could go straight out to work, no need to fuss around like you two are!!" A slight scuffling noise could be heard from behind the door, before Bulma shouted back at him.
"I refuse to go without some general supplies!! I am not having a repeat of the trip to Namek!"
"And I need to gather my weapons." Vixen added. Vegeta grumbled and turned his back to the house. He looked out over the horizon, trying to locate Tetsuo’s power level. Raditz appeared next to him.
"Don’t worry prince, I know where his castle is located. I will be able to take us there ." Vegeta looked up in shock.
"What… but Raditz, you’re just a spirit. I didn’t think anyone could hear or see you." Raditz let out a grin.
"Well, one of the more intelligent demons in Hell were kind enough to give me a little tip on showing myself to mortals. Then again, I did have my katana at his throat…" Raditz went of into a thought. Vegeta raised an eyebrow.
"Can you fight?" Raditz sighed dejectedly.
"Unfortunately not in this plane. I can fight spirits and many demons, but I am still a mere ghost in this realm. Sorry." Vegeta shook his head. Raditz was unsure as to whether this was a way of saying it didn’t matter, or bitterly concealed disappointment.
"OH MY GOD!!" Bulma’s voice rang out. The two Saiyan’s turned round to see Bulma standing in the door frame, a rucksack balanced on her hips as she paused in pulling it over her shoulder. "Raditz is.. is.. is.." she stuttered
"Still dead" the long haired warrior sighed, feeling only slightly insulted by the woman’s obvious relief. "And I will most likely stay that way for a very long time." Vixen walked out, her knife lodged back into the top of her jeans, and her sword hanging in it’s case around her back.
"Ok I’m ready." She smiled at Vegeta. She turned round to talk to Bulma, only to come face to face with Raditz.
"Raditz…." She whispered. "Are you.." she started. He shook his head.
"I am just visible. A small skill picked up earlier. Thought it could come in handy." She held out a hand, and he placed his palm in hers.
"I can’t even feel you…." She looked to the ground. "This is torture, having you so close." She looked up into his eyes. He shook his head.
"It isn’t torture…. You can still feel me." She closed her eyes, and Raditz leant forward to kiss her. Vixen let out a small gasp as she felt his lips touch hers. Tears started to well up in her eyes as she remembered how long it had been since she had last felt his touch.
Bulma and Vegeta stood watching the two.
"Oh my gosh! This is so romantic!" Bulma said dreamily "It is like some bizarre soap opera." Vegeta glanced at his wife.
"Can we hurry this up please!" he said loudly, causing Raditz and Vixen to stop what they were doing. "In case you have forgotten, there are quite a few lives at stake here, not to mention this affectionate display is making me quite ill." Vixen growled at Vegeta, and Raditz turned away as he blushed slightly. "Right. Good" Vegeta said. "Now Raditz, take us to Tetsuo’s home." Raditz nodded, and lifted up into the air. Vixen knelt down slightly, and stared at the ground, concentrating on one spot. She bit her lip as wings slowly sprouted from her back. Within 15 seconds, she was able to stretch her black and silver feathers. She shrugged her shoulders slightly before lifting into the air. Vegeta was soon up next to her, with Bulma in his arms.
"Ooh, this is fun!" Bulma exclaimed. Vegeta ignored his wife, choosing instead to address Raditz
"Right, lead the way."
Vegeta was the first to land, Bulma still holding onto him tightly, balanced in his arms. He landed quite elegantly, the sound of his boots echoing around the empty courtyard, and he let his wife stand on her own feet. Vixen and Raditz landed together. She shrugged her shoulders slightly, her wings feeling tired from the long flight.
"From here we can follow that passageway into the display rooms. I can feel the ki level of many sprits, still living, down there." Raditz pointed to a small tunnel leading out of the courtyard. Vegeta nodded, and walked down, the others following.
The passageway was decorated in a more than elegant manner, but it seemed time had taken its toll on the delicate satin wall hangings and marble floors, as the corridor was dark and very slightly dank, the occasional candle dimly lighting their route. In what seemed hours in the repetitive maze, the group reached a small room. At first it seemed empty, apart from some shelves with paper work of some sort, balancing uncertainly above a small workbench/table. Bulma immediately walked over, and picked up some files.
"You guys, it’s a listing off all Tetsuo has captured. He wasn’t kidding about collecting them, they are all catalogued here." She frowned as the other seemed to ignore her. "Goku’s in here! And so is Trunks… they’re all in here you guys." She looked up. The three fighters had disappeared.
"Oh great." She frowned. "I suppose I’ll just wait for them here." Bulma pulled out a stool from the bench and sat down, starting to flick through some more files.
The trio walked into the adjoining room, having been instructed to do so by Raditz. A shocking sight met their eyes. It appeared they were in a glass tunnel, but around them, behind the transparent walls were spirits, and so many. There were so many different races, from the now well known humans, Saiyans, Namekians to strange beings that didn’t even seem to have any form. Vixen leant against the glass, only to leap back as it sparked against the pressure. Raditz analysed it.
"This wall has to be broken to free them."
"They’re in there?" Vegeta asked. Raditz nodded.
"Look." He pointed to Vixen, who now once again was resting her hand lightly against the material, but this time matching it up with that of her sons.
"Bardock." She whispered.
"Mom!" he mouthed back. "Have you and Vegeta come to rescue us?" she nodded. "But mommy, who is he?" He gestured to Raditz, who was staring at him with amazed eyes.
"He’s your daddy." Bardock opened his mouth to say something, but seemed to taken aback. "And he’s here to rescue you too." Bardock’s tail swung erratically behind him. Vixen suddenly tore her eyes away from her open mouthed son as she felt a significant energy level coming from yet another adjoining room. Vegeta tensed up and turned to run through, but Vixen ran up to him and put a hand against his chest, stopping him.
"I’ll go Vegeta." She said "You and Raditz work out how to free our friends. I can handle whatever’s there." Vegeta looked at her doubtingly, but the sight of his own young son caused him to turn away. Vixen ran through.
"How can we do this?" he asked Raditz.
"This shell that’s trapping them can’t be broken from where we are, it has to be broken from their side."
"Can’t we just get one of them to fire a ki blast?" Vegeta asked impatiently. Raditz shook his head.
"Nope, it can only be broken by a change of form." Vegeta raised an eyebrow "once a spirit is trapped in a container such as this, it’s form cannot change, or it will cause an imbalance in the program made to hold it, breaking the seal." Vegeta looked quizzically at Raditz.
"Where do you learn all this?"
"the same way I learn everything now. Hell is boring Vegeta, and harassing demons for information is a hobby of mine now." Vegeta shook his head. After hearing that fact he kind of hoped he had done enough good deeds in his life to balance out the bad and not get him sent to Hell. He didn’t like the idea of his social life deteriorating to that level.
"So. How do we intend to do that?"
Vixen ran into a large room. It was apparently made of a white, marble like material, with many steps running up to a throne of some sort. And standing near the top was Tetsuo.
"You came?" he asked. Vixen narrowed her eyes slightly, but smiled back all the same.
"How could I resist the opportunity to kill some low life scum like you." He simply laughed.
"What makes you hate me so much? I am merely a collector." Vixen just stared at him, her black eyes seeming vacant for a moment from lack of care. "Let me put it this way. I am a hunter. Do you remember how your race used to be? Full of hunters like myself. Bloodthirsty, ravenous beasts." The void in her eyes turned into that of hatred.
"My race was never warriors and never compare me to you. We will never be the same." She pulled her sword out its case and held it in front of her, so that the light reflected off its blade into his face. He took a few steps forward, avoiding the glare.
"But we already have so much in common. Our races are linked in more ways than one. I would firstly like to show you what powers you might of possessed, had you had been trained properly." He raised his hands into the air, a sphere forming in-between his palms. Vixen stared at him. A ki blast? But she rarely fought with ki blasts. Never in fact. She stood staring at him in thought. It didn’t feel like a ki blast, it felt of pure psychic energy.
"And may all your old wounds be re-opened" he smirked, before throwing the ball at her. Vixens reactions, although quick, couldn’t avoid the energy, which sent her reeling. Her body went flying back, and she landed hard on her face. ‘It didn’t hurt like a ki blast either….but it still hurts’ Vixen thought as she attempted to pull herself up.
Vegeta and Raditz stood thinking.
"Nobody in there can change forms though." Raditz scowled.
"Kakarot can turn into a Super Saiyan." Vegeta suggested. Raditz shook his head.
"I’m not sure Goku would be able to power up at the moment. We need something that can happen spontaneously, without too much effort." Vegeta growled at his suggestion being shot down. He looked up to see Bardock still staring at Raditz. Vegeta stared harder at him, before noticing something the he and his father had in common.
"Your boy has a tail." Vegeta stated. Raditz looked at the prince.
"So?"
"So maybe he can change forms." A grin slowly crossed Raditz’s face as he caught on.
"Do you want to do the honours." Raditz still grinned.
"Well I suppose I will have to. You can’t look at it, I don’t think this castle could even hold two Oozarus." Raditz knelt to the ground, dropping his eyes onto the floor.
"Fine, just don’t make this last too long." Vegeta nodded.
"Sure. Hey Bardock!" The small boy turned to look at Vegeta, who was now producing a small glowing orb of light in his palm. "Keep your eyes on this!"
Vixen knelt on the ground, breathing heavily. That blow had taken a lot out of her, and she could feel it’s pain racking through her body. She gingerly raised a hand to brush some long scarlet hair out her face, only to pause as she felt a thick residue on her hand. She pulled her hand back, to see crimson blood sparkling on her pale fingers. She brought her hand back to her face and traced her fingers along her scar, to discover the wound reopened and fresh blood seeping. She stared at it for a moment, in disbelief. ‘I never even felt his blow.’ She whispered in her mind, as she continued to look at her stained fingers. As she realised the significance, of old wounds being re-opened, her hand curled into a fist, blood mingling on the delicate lines of her palm.
"You will pay for what you have done!!" she yelled. "You will pay for those who have suffered, and you will pay for the imprisonment of innocent souls not ready to leave this earth." Tetsuo only smirked.
"Well if I am going to die so soon." He mocked "then I might as well get one more for my collection." He beckoned with his fingers, causing Bulma’s unconscious body to appear in front of him.
"You… wouldn’t…" Vixen whispered.
"Shall I do it now, or wait for her to wake up?" He slung her body to the ground behind him. "And now as you fight me." He stared right into Vixens eyes. "You will remember just how high the stakes are for you." Vixen gripped her sword tighter, and her wings fluttered slightly behind her.
"I am ready for you!" she yelled. Tetsuo still laughed at her.
"You can only hope so."
Chapter Five
Bardock stared at Vegeta, unable to figure out what he was doing. Bardock shivered, as he felt an odd sensation, starting at his tail, go through his body in a wave. His eyes started to go silver, just as his mothers did when she was fighting.
"Well Raditz, it’s the moment of truth." Vegeta grinned, as he flung the orb into the sky. "Can your son transform even with Zorroxian blood in his veins?" Raditz smiled proudly.
"He is my son isn’t he?" the pride coming through in his voice. Vegeta turned away, feeling slightly disappointed as he remembered the fun of transforming himself. He didn’t miss it that much, he hated having to look so ugly, but he had always liked having the option.
"Vegeta…." Raditz said, catching the princes attention "I know I can only see his feet, and I haven’t transformed for a while, but does that look right to you?" Vegeta looked up at the now half transformed Bardock.
"Oh…… shit."
"What?"
"It seems the boy’s mothers genes are making a play in this too…. This could be interesting"
"I will defeat you!!" Vixen yelled, as she started to run up the steps, towards Tetsuo. He watched her carefully, anticipating her arrival. She got a few feet in front of him, and he swung his sword down at her, having materialised it a few seconds earlier, only to feel nothing but air underneath it’s blade.
"Huh?" he yelled,. As Vixen materialised behind him.
"I guess my alternative training earned me some tricks you weren’t ready for. She pulled out her sword and swung it down at his shoulder. Tetsuo spun round, stopping it but a few inches with his own.
"Nice try, Vixen, but don’t use weapons you can’t handle" he flicked his wrist, causing her sword to fly back in the air, Vixen spun round and caught it, allowing it to slide effortlessly into it’s case on her back. Instead she pulled out her knife.
"You are right, I don’t often use my sword" she smiled "but this knife I have owned since I was a child. My talent with this exceeds by far that of which I used before" she smirked. She tossed it in the air, before stopping it in mid air, holding out 1 finger. It floated delicately in the air. Vixen smiled as her eyes started to glow in a silver tone, and as her eyes changed, so did the eyes of the carved dragon, it’s ruby pupils burning brightly. She clasped her hands together, before throwing then apart, causing the knife to split, multiplying itself by two. She beckoned, and caught a knife in each hand.
"I am ready for you now, Tetsuo."
Bulma slowly regained consciousness, and the scene in front of her came into focus. She could see Vixen standing with two knives, and Tetsuo standing just in front of her. She looked around her, noting the different surroundings. ‘I wonder what happened, and for that matter what is happening. And where are Raditz and Vegeta?’
Vegeta swallowed slightly as a gigantic fox, with silver glowing eyes, large fangs and near black fur shattered through the glass. The whole room seemed to explode, and the sound of terrified screams filled the room, as people found themselves in a dark void, and very close to being squashed by a Zorroxian style Oozaru. A hand was placed on Vegeta’s shoulder.
"Young prince, I thank you for freeing not just I, but all who were trapped for not just hours like your friends, but centuries like my own. I will save you a hassle."
"How so old man." Vegeta asked, as he sensed the creatures wizening power level.
"I will send everyone in this room back to where they belong." Vegeta looked away, into the moonlight.
"Will their life be restored?" Vegeta asked.
"Those who are dead, no. Those who are already living, have no need for me to do so. If you mean will they be returned to their non-astral body’s, then the answer is yes." Vegeta smiled.
"Do your spell old man. It will be appreciated."
"It already is."
Vixen charged towards Tetsuo, one knife in her teeth, the other in her waistband once more. She leapt up at him, aiming her booted foot for his face. The blow landed, knocking him to the ground, but he recovered soon, flipping himself up onto his feet. Before he had a chance to draw breath, Vixen lunged at him again. He was ready though, and twirled round her, catching her round the neck, holding her against his chest. She gasped for breath as his grip tightened, her knife clattering to the ground.
"You aren’t as quick as you think you are." He coughed violently as Vixen hit him round the face with one of her wings. "These seem to be getting in the way." He almost laughed, as he drew his sword. "Let me fix that for you"
"AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!" Vixen screamed out in pain, as effortlessly sliced through the feather, stopping only briefly to allow Vixen to hear her own bones snap. "You.. bastard" she whispered. Tetsuo chuckled
"Can you feel my blade inside you?" he asked. Vixen pulled her remaining knife out her waistband, and thrust it into his stomach.
"Can you?" she asked. He threw her to the ground, and watched as Vixen fell into her own blood stained feathers. He pulled at the knife imbedded in his skin, only to shout out as it’s blade burnt his hair. Vixen felt tears well up in her eyes as she could still move part of her remaining wing bones. The pain, it hurt so much. She only hoped Vegeta and Raditz had already saved the others. She glanced up at Bulma. She had more important things to think about then the pain shooting through her back.
"You bitch!" he cried as he forced himself to telekinetically withdraw the knife from his stomach. "Nobody has ever hurt me in this way, and you will pay." He stormed over to her, and kicked her in the stomach. She groaned and doubled over in pain. "You think that hurts, just wait for what I’ve got next." Vixen rolled away from him and pulled herself up from the floor. Her eyes were still silver, and power was surging through her body. She threw some balls of psychic energy at him, most of which were deflected, a few making impact. He jumped out the way, vanishing in the air, only to appear next to Bulma. He picked her up by her hair.
"NOOOO!!" Vixen screamed. "Don’t do this!! This is between you and I!! What would hurting her prove?? You know you are stronger than her!! Why are you doing this??" Tetsuo let out an evil cackle.
"I would do anything to cause you pain." He raised a hand to Bulma’s chest, as the woman struggled in his grasp, and without even touching her skin, caused Bulma to scream out in pain. He threw Bulma to the ground, and Vixen could see a small patch of blood forming on Bulma’s top, gradually expanding.
Vixens breathing became erratic as anger bubbled up inside her. Tetsuo suddenly stopped laughing as a change of atmosphere disturbed the balance in the room. The sky, which could be seen through the glass roof, turned completely black, and lightening flashed across. The whole room began to shake, and the ground was cracking slightly beneath his feet.
"What the…" he murmured, before looking up and jumping back in shock as Vixen was face to face with him.
"Stay!" she commanded, grabbing his shoulders, her talon like nails breaking his skin. His hand shot forward and grabbed Vixens sword from over her shoulder. She grabbed his wrist in mid air.
"Never, EVER, touch my sword" she yelled. Vixen twisted his wrist back and kneed him in the stomach, before kicking him across the room. He landed hard against the throne at the top of the wall, and slumped to the ground. He couldn’t even move, as Vixen stood in front of him.
"How… could… you. You can’t defeat me. I have superior psychic strength. Your powers are useless." Vixen blinked, her expression unchanging.
"Maybe your psychic powers are stronger than mine, but in my training sessions, I learnt something you’ll never learn."
"And what might that be." An evil glint shone out in Vixens eyes, causing Tetsuo to shrink back. She raised her palm out so it was in front of her. She grinned evilly, her fangs showing, causing him to shrink back more.
"Big Bang Attack!!" she laughed.
"No!! It cannot be!!" He yelled, as the ki blast encased him. Vixen waved slightly with her extended palm. His power-level had disappeared. Tetsuo was dead.
Vegeta looked around him. They were back at his own home. Raditz’s spirit was standing next to him, looking distant with concern showing in his face. ‘Are they all here?’ Vegeta thought. He counted out, before narrowing his eyes as he realised two female characters were missing.
"That man cheated me…" he muttered, before a voice reminded him of the mans offer. "I will send everyone in this room back to where they belong." Vegeta dictated out loud. "Damn it! Vixen and Bulma weren’t in the room." He suddenly shuddered, as concern went through his mind.
"Bulma…" he whispered…
"Bulma? Bulma!" Vixen knelt next to the woman’s body, shaking her slightly. "please Bulma, don’t be gone. We need you. Vegeta needs you…" she grabbed Bulma’s now cold wrist and felt desperately for a pulse. Nothing registered.
"no…" Vixen whispered. She picked the woman up in her arms, and got ready to lift up into the air, before catching sight of her bloodied wings on the ground. Vixen sighed as realisation came into her mind. The only evidence of Tetsuo’s presence was his sword, which lay on the ground next to her own weapons. The blood shed had been minimal, but still, too many lives were lost. She slid her sword back into place, doing the same with her knife, and carried Bulma out the room, out the castle, and slowly started walking back to her home. She knew the Dragonball’s would immediately be used to bring Bulma back to life, but somehow she also knew that she had to let Vegeta see his wife one last time. Even if that meant days of walking to reach him, she knew he had to say goodbye.
The End
