| Nadesico Summary |
| The TV series of Nadesico begins in the year 2195, when Earth is expanding its exploration of the universe, and has colonized the Moon and Mars. As the Earth makes plans to establish hold over both Venus and Jupiter, the colonies on Mars are attacked by a group of invaders from Jupiter that are eventually given the name Jupiter Lizards or Jovian Lizards. Being as the invaders' technology is far more advanced than that of the Earth, a corporation called NEGRAL takes charge of the Earth's defense forces and builds a prototype for a battleship called the Nadesico. Through the use of, technology, NEGRAL has managed to make Nadesico the fastest and, most powerful ship ever built on Earth.
But this new ship has lots of problems. Originally, the Nadesico would be under the command of Nergal and would be used to protect Nergal's interests both on Earth and in space. They would operate in cooperation with the military but would be a fully independent force. Upon seeing the true power of the Nadesico, however, the military attempts to strong arm Nergal into handing it over, saying that such a powerful weapon should be utilized by the military to help defeat the enemy. The Nadesico and her crew find themselves in the odd position of being hunted by both the Earth military and the Jovian Lizards. And you just know that Nergal has their own secret agenda. And those are just the immediate political and military problems.
