You start off going to a festival, and meet a young energetic girl named "Marie." You two go to your friends place named "Lucca," and visit her latest invention. Teleporting. Sure you try it out, but the girl tries it, but she suddenly travels back in time because of her pendent she was wearing. I know it sounds weird, but it gets alot better than this. You have to save her, but then you have to end up to save the queen where you meet a knight named "Frog." He's cool, but once you save the queen, he leaves your party. Your two friends go back into modern time. Marie tells you that she is the princess and you take her home to the castle. When arriving, you are captured saying you "kidnapped the princess." So it's off to court to settle this. No matter what, you are guilty, and taken to jail. You escape, and one of your friends help you out. Suddenly, the princess helps you out, and the guards are trying to capture you. At the end of the forest, you end up into a portal and you go threw time. You are now end up in the future. Here you meet starving and sick people, many have died, and you travel threw the cities and go into a race with someone. You go to an old building, where you found out, where the other portal to get back to your time, accedently you pres a button, and shows you how the people of the future died of "Lavos," who came out of the ground and destorying everything. You travel to the other building and see a robot, but not alive. Your scientific friend Lucca rebuilds him and you meet "Robo." He help you to get the back door, which you must go to the factory and open it from there. After about your mission from the facotry, Robo's robot friends beat him up calling him a failure and hanging with humans. You have to beat them, and then save Robo. You drag him back to the building and all four of you go in the portal. Somewhere you end of at a strang place, known as "the end of time." You can only take two others wiht you in a portal, so that means only one will remain there, but don't worry, you can always go back and change players and visit.

I'm not going to tell you the rest, well, because it is alot longer. This is only the taste of it. You meet more characters. You do get Frog in your team when you have to go back in time and battle a name called "Magus." You travel back in prehistoric age, and, meet a strong cave women names "Ayla." You can also get "Magus" in your team as long as if you choose not to fight him with one on one with Frog vs. Magus. You must save the world from "Lavos" who sucks the energy out of the earth. Only you and your party can stop him.
