The Virgo is the first
pure mobile doll, a computer-controlled war machine designed without
a cockpit for a human pilot. Developed at OZ's lunar base, it's
based on test data gathered from the experimental mobile suits
Mercurius and Vayeate and incorporates the destructive self-powering
beam cannon design from the OZ-13MSX1 Vayeate and the planet defenser
system from the OZ-13MSX2 Mercurius. Fighting in mass numbers
or in teams of three, they can combine their planet defensors
to form an impenetrable defensive barrier.
When the Romefeller
Foundation-controlled OZ carries out Operation Nova, dropping
hundreds of Virgos to Earth to wipe out terrestrial opposition,
the conventional mobile suit forces of its opponents are literally
powerless to resist. Romefeller's new ideal was centered around
the mobile doll, in their vain attempt to bring "peace"
and "order" to Earth without a high cost in human lives.
Though the Virgo isn't as fast or agile as its predecessor, the
Taurus, its firepower and defensive abilities more than make up
for the performance gap. The Virgo was named after the sixth sign
of the Zodiac, meaning "virgin", an appropriate name
considering that it doesn't need a human inside it to function.
However, the advanced weapons of the Gundams are still effective
against these killer robots.
