Goku

Goku is the main character of Dragonball Z. He is a Saiyan which is a race who's desire is only to conquer the universe. He was sent to earth as a babyto destroy it, but he had an accident and was dropped on his head. This turned him into a loving person. Throughtout DBZ Goku is getting into trouble but always seems to be the one whose power overwhelms everyone elses. Goku is very kind-hearted and makes bad choices during battles and lets the enemy live, which usually results in either his friends or family getting hurt or that enemy causing a disaster.

Piccolo

Piccolo was at first created by Kame who had to remove all evil from him which turned out to be Piccolo. He is a namek who starts off the series as Goku's rival and hates Goku's guts, but then when Raditz shows up the two must team up to defeat Raditz and save the world, along with Goku's son. Piccolo after a while of training Gohan(Goku's son) becomes kind hearted and fights with the Z-team to protect his home.

Gohan

Gohan is Goku's son, who wants to turn out to be just like his dad. He wants to train to become strong but all his mom will let him do is study. Gohan tends to get in trouble considering he sneaks out of the house when he is suppose to be studying, so that he can train with his dad. During the Cell saga Gohan goes ssj2 and becomes the strongest fighter on the show.

Krillin

Krillin is a human from earth who was trained by Master Roshi to become able to use energy. He is Goku's best friend, and is at first pretty brave in battle. Then later in the series Toriyama changed his personality to a frady cat babe magnet. He falls in love with Android 18 duringthe Android Saga.

Vegeta

Vegeta is also a Saiyan. He is actually the Prince of all Saiyans. And as you might guess his main desire is to become the most powerful in the universe. Vegeta is trying to keep pace with Goku throughout DBZ. He is always fighting or training to become stronger than Goku

Miara Trunks

Miara Trunks comes from the future, and is Vegeta's son. He has only a few episodes that he appears in. He first appears in The Trunks Saga(of course)when he kills Fruiza and his father King Cold. He also gives Goku an antidote for his heart virus that he gets in the future. His main reason in coming is to tell Goku about the androids that will show up in the future, and to change the fate of the people that get killed in the future by the androids. He then leaves the series. He comes back later during the Android Saga to check out everything. He then stays and helps fight the androids and Cell. Then he once again returns to the future to destroy the Androids the brought destruction to the Future.
