Shooting, Hunting & Fishing

I have my (New Zealand) firearms licence so I am able to go out shooting alone and no longer do I have to drag my father or older friends out so I can shoot. In actual fact I can now take a friend shooting. Since I have had my licence I have only been out shooting a few times. Yes I know you are now frowning upon me already.
Most of my shooting experience has been between I was 5 and 13. I slowed my shooting career when I started high school due to the extra workload. I have used a vast array of firearms (I would say weapons but now I am a responsible licence holder thus I no longer have psycho thoughts). I have used Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns & also a military AK-47 (semi-auto). I was given my first gun when I was 5 & it was an air rifle, which many kids learn with. I shot all kinds of things with it. I was always allowed to use the .22 of dad's except he had to be with me. I lived with these types of firearms until I was 11 when I started into ducks & I wanted a shotgun. 12 Gauges proved to be a little to powerful for my stature at this age so my dad bought me a .410 shotgun which also had a separate barrel which was a scoped .22 hornet. I eliminated many a rabbit with the .410 and the odd bit of aerial vermin e.g. sparrows.
I was lucky enough to be offered a wallaby safari so we set off in a land rover with the .22 hornet. That night wasn't the best with only 1 wallaby being spotted but this one I bagged with a single shot to the base of the neck, this wallaby's skin is now a mat in my room. The next wallaby trip we got 58 in this same Land Drover. As the addiction to ducks increased greatly I left the .410 in the locker & borrowed my G/dad's 12 gauge. He has 3 beautiful shotguns which are barely used an very well maintained. My Grandad has helped me with shooting all my life especially when I was old enough to do small bore rifle shooting. He introduced me to this and also to clay bird shooting. He has given me vast amounts of equipment to help me with my shooting & fishing.
Meanwhile in the gap between 10-14 I did a lot of possum & rabbit shooting mainly spot-lighting with my dad & a mate. On one night we could usually expect around 10 rabbits & depending on the season up to 10 possums as well. Now I am still borrowing my g/dad's gun for ducks and now I have: 2 BB guns, a.22 bolt action with scope, a .223 ex-armed offender's rifle, a .410/.22 hornet inter-changeable barrel & a 12g Pump-Action shotgun which I have just had sold.
I will continue Shooting for as long as my body allows me.
