Getting mIRC DCC to work with a Linksys Home Router 1. Start IE and go to your router's webpage (usually http://192.168.1.1) 2. Login then click on "advanced" tab, then "forwarding" tab (default login password is admin, no username) 3. If there are any service port ranges that include port 4970-5000, delete them (unless they are used by other programs) by typing 0 in all boxes if you made changes, click apply, you may get disconnect 4. click on "Port Triggering" button (If it's missing you need to upgrade your router's firmware) 5. Enter the following Info: Application Name: DCC Trigger Port Range 6667-6670 Incoming Port Range: 4970-5000 Check only TCP protocol Check the Enable box (may be missing on some firmware versions) Click apply 6. Next configure MIRC, click file, options, connect, local Info: set your hostname and ip of the outside of your router, uncheck all boxes except "normal" lookup method To get the ip of the outside of your router, go to your router's web page and select the status tab To get the hostname associated with that ip, open a dos window and enter: tracert x.x.x.x (where x.x.x.x is the ip of the outside of your router) 7. Next (still in mIRC options) go to DCC, options, In the DCC Ports boxes enter First: 4970 and Last: 5000 and change Max. remotely requested DCC Sends to 30 I also uncheck the top "beep" options, and check to close Send and Get Windows on completion. You might also want to uncheck "Show DCC Send Warning" 8. Click OK, Close Mirc and reconnect. You're done Note: For other routers, forward 4970-5000 ports to the ip address of the computer running mIRC
