Part 457
Making his way off-stage, Howie was anxious to find Sarah. Flirting with her had left him painfully hard and now he needed relief. As usual though, when he was in a hurry, everyone else was taking their time. With the incident at the end of the show, there was MORE than enough conversation, all giving their take and complimenting him on salvaging the song.
Sarah was just as eager for Howie to get off stage. Dancing from foot to foot and standing on her tiptoes to see past everyone, she waited impatiently. She hadn’t been but a couple minutes ahead of him. She was looking forward to the down time they had and wanted to get started on their trip to Denver.
Becca laughed softly as she watched her best friend doing everything BUT go to the ‘underworld’ looking for Howie. "Sarah, calm down. You know how slow Howie can be after a show."
"I know. It’s just that I want to hurry up and get out of here."
"You two haven’t had much time alone lately, have you?"
"No!" pouted Sarah.
"Are you SURE you really want Nick and me tagging along?"
"Well, yeah…of course. We’ll have time apart. I mostly want you to go with me for the doctor’s appointment."
Becca saw that she needed to distract Sarah. "Do you know what Kevin has planned for tonight?"
It worked. Sarah turned her attention to Becca now and smiled. She and Howie had just talked to Kevin over dinner about this very topic. "Romance! While Krystal was doing her set, he ordered flowers to be delivered to their suite along with champagne and strawberries. He’s also gonna tell her everything about us."
Horrified, Becca asked, "WHY?"
"Because Lynne already suspects something and it’s really not a good idea to start a relationship off with a lie. What we had is over and it will always be special but he can’t let that get in the way. Lynne seems comfortable with our relationship so it just makes sense to tell her."
"I’m glad he realizes that," sighed Becca with relief.
"Howie convinced him, after Boise."
"I convinced who of what?" asked Howie putting his arms around Sarah’s waist from behind.
Startled somewhat, Sarah jumped. "Don’t DO that, Howie!"
Howie laughed, "I’m sorry, ‘Angel’. Let’s go. I need to get a shower before we hit the road."
"We’ll see you in a few, Bec," said Sarah knowing exactly why Howie was in a rush to get to the dressing room.
Howie started to lead Sarah away but they were stopped. "YO! ‘D’! Where are you two in such a hurry?" called AJ.
Howie groaned in exasperation and Sarah laughed knowing AJ was doing this on purpose. If they didn’t stop, he’d be at the door banging until they opened it.
Sarah nudged Howie in the ribs, "You might as well answer him."
Frustration laced his voice as Howie said, "I’m going to get a shower, ‘Bone’."
"Leave ‘Tigger’ with us then, so we can say good-bye."
Howie looked at Sarah and she said, "I need one too. We won’t be long."
"Uh huh! Sarah, those showers aren’t big enough for both of you," teased AJ. "Better wait here."
"’Bone’…. BITE ME!"
"Nah, I’ll let ‘D’ handle that."
"Then STOP holding us up so I can go bite her," said Howie as he pushed Sarah to the dressing room.
Everyone laughed as the couple disappeared into the dressing room.
With the door closed, Sarah turned and ran her fingers through Howie’s damp curls. "You were SOOOO mean teasing me all night."
"But I aim to please," purred Howie as he pulled her as close as her stomach would allow. "I want you so bad!"
Howie leaned to kiss her, his lips parting as he claimed her mouth in a passionate kiss. As their tongues danced erotically, their hands worked frantically to get the clothes off. Breaking apart only to get their shirts off, the two rejoined their passion a raging inferno.
The water to put out their fire was the ringing of Howie’s cell phone. Against his lips, Sarah begged, "Let them leave a message on your voice mail."
"I can’t, Angel. I’m expecting a call about the hotel deal in Alabama." Howie held on to Sarah as he reached for the phone.
As Howie talked on the phone, Sarah ran her fingers along his back as she placed tiny, wet kisses every where her fingers touched. She could hear in his voice his struggle to maintain control as he talked to Steve. Slowly she worked her way to the waistband of his jeans. God, she loved the white jeans but they were hard to get off.
As she fumbled with the button, his hand covered hers stopping her. She looked up at him and he pointed to his shirt. She could tell by the look on his face that he no longer had passion on his mind. Business had been pushed to the forefront with this one call. Knowing better than to protest, Sarah backed away and handed him his shirt.
Hanging up, Sarah asked, "What’s up?"
"I need to talk to Kevin. We’re gonna have to go to Huntsville after the
tour."
Sarah groaned, "Before Japan?"
Howie pulled his shirt on. "Uh huh. What’s wrong with that?"
"I really wanted to head back to Orlando and spend time with Jesse. Take her Trick or Treating and spend a day with her at school before we head to Japan."
Howie smiled, "Don’t worry. This will only take a day. You could go on ahead without me but we will have plenty of time with her before we leave the country. I’ll be back in a minute."
"Are you gonna get a shower before we leave?"
"No. I’ll get one on the bus. Go ahead and gather our stuff."
Howie gave her a kiss and headed to find Kevin. He wasn’t gone long before he returned.
"What’s wrong?"
"Kevin’s already gone. Come on. Nick and Becca are gonna follow on their bus and we’re gonna meet up in Denver in the morning for breakfast at the hotel. What time is your doctor’s appointment?"
"Eleven," answered Sarah as she handed their bag to Howie.
The two made their way out towards the bus followed by Tommy and Raoul. There were still a handful of fans waiting to catch a glimpse of the Boys and Howie stopped to sign autographs.
