Nightmare News

9/12/05 Naming this section "Nightmare News" was brilliant. Because keep up on it is a nightmare. I couldn't believe that it had been over a year since my last installment. In review: This year we found our favorite place to play is The Hillbilly Hellhole. I don't know how long it will last, but I can't wait to play there again. We have played with some great bands off the top of my head and in no particular order are my favorites we have played with this past year: ELCTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, PINK SWORDS, HONKY, DRY COUNTY CROOKS, THE ALTARBOYS, PORNSTOR JANITOR, THE GUILTY HEARTS, MOTORAMA (BC), LOPEZ, HANDSOM ROB AND THE HALFRACKS, SHOTGUN SODOMY, TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROM, 8 FOOT TENDER, 800 OCTANE, BLOODY HOLLIES, PRETTY MONSTER, KLEVELAND, DEAD MAN'S HAND, THE FALCON, BORN LOSERS, THE PUNK GROUP, DIRT-FIST-FEET, THE GALLOWS (PDX)...I'm sure there are more that, but I can't think of them right now. I've left no one out intentionally. We are trying to write some more songs and after we get back from our Southwest tour, we will reall try to buckle down, so we can record again by the end of the year. Speaking of the tour...Liable is not able to go on tour with us this time out (not because Dirty didn't try to kill him in the soapbox derby), but our very own 5th member CHRIS "MOTHERFUCKIN" PETERSON or as we like to call him Shed will be warming Liable's stool for the tour. Come flog our Albino! In other news Dirty and K have opened up a new guitar shop called CENTAUR GUITAR. We now get our strings at cost. It is on NE 28th and Sandy here in Portland, come on in and hang out. In the same space is our Roadie, Conor's, record store called Infringement Records. Until next time...Bunty

8/23/04 I decided that this time I would let Liable comment on how the summer tour went, so without further ado: That's correct, folks. MRNB has just returned from a two week tour of these great United States. We hauled ourselves from Portland, Oregon to NYC and back, playin' rock for the masses in many great towns. You doubters and naysayers can just fuck right the hell off, because MRNB was able to complete this third tour without getting arrested, going to the hospital, or spending any time with a mechanic. I believe we can chalk this one up as a success!

Yeah... you heard it right, MRNB has finally released a full length CD, Who Will Be...The Lucky Pierre? This little shiney gem contains 13 anthems of rock, suicide, drinkin', monsters, and heartache. In addition, we also have our new 7 inch vinyl record Too Fat For Love, available for you to purchase. And if you're one of those neo-rockers who don't know what a record is, let alone own a turn table, then we've got the same 3 ass kickin' rock songs from the 7 inch available on a CD Single.

Thanks Liable,

also Thanks to Chris "Mutha Fuckin'" Peterson and Kevin Nettelingham for helping us get the CD out in record time. Kick-Ass! I also want to acknowledge all of the cool people that helped us out on our tour: Jim and everyone at the BLUE MULE in Denver, Colorado BELFAST CARBOMB, RENO DIVORCE, Anne and all the kids in Cedar Rapids, SHARING MASS GRAVES, Brad and Jessica at The Beegle in Frostburg, Maryland (in my top 10 coolest bars ever), Mary Hendrickx & Pete Quilla, Mary's Mom Peggy, Gailin and everyone at the Vaggy Beach House, BENT OUTA SHAPE, STFU, GUADALUPE, The URT in Joplin, Missouri, BRUTALLY FRANK, RAY BERRY & THE HOOKERS, VAGINAL DISCHARGE (Greatest Band Ever), Crazy Darren in Nebraska, The Starlight in Fort Collins, Colorado, AXES OF EVIL. These were all the cool and great people and places we met and hung out with along the way. There were others but not worth mentioning, or giving space to. until next time...

6/25/04 We are trying to book the summer tour and so much has happened and I have been failing miserably at keeping this updated. The Record is still coming out, it should be here any day, the first 300 are on swamp green vinyl. We are also making a cd version too. We have finished recording the full lengthe as well it will be called Lucky Pierre with any luck it will be ready for tour also. We recorded it with Chris Peterson from HUSSY/TINA. It sounds pretty damn good considering who he has to work with. During the last few months we have played some fun shows. We did two show in one day with our awsome friends from Vancouver B.C. MOTORAMA. We played a cool punk house called the Bothell Hell House early in the evening and then went and played at the Lobo in Seattle both shows were fun, and a good time was had by all, even if the Maple Leafs lost the playoffs.

Another great show of note was with our friends CART!. It was an allages show here in Portland, truly our first one in our own home town. It went over excellent. The kids were great, we sold merch, the club, Disjecta, was great, they were super to us. I can't say enough nice things about the show. Oh, and we also played that show with a young band called I.B.S. who need a bass player, and it will get so much better.

We also should mention that we had a pseodo-record release party at The Twilight Cafe' which if anyone ever reads this thing knows that I usually love that place. We found out a week before that our records were not going to make it before the show, so we did not advertise it as a record release party. We did say when we booked the show that it was going to be our record release. Make sense? Well to help promote the show, the club put on two bands, one called AKIMBO and the other BIG BUSINESS (which has Jared from TIGHT BROS in it) We were kind of excited. Well we got cut off early; we have never play over 35 minutes. AKIMBO was up next, and they played over an hour. I thought that it was great that Dave brought in some larger bands to help us to have a larger audience, but we didn't see a dime, and the other bands were kind of standoffish assholes. I think they are from Olympia. Have I mentioned that Olympia sucks ass from everything I can tell. Until next time - Bunty

3/20/04 OK, so we have been playing a ton, and the idea was that we would make a little money to help out with the expenses of recording the full length CD that we are practicing for. Here are a few of the hightlights of the last month and a half....We played with THE IOTOLAS, from Tacoma. They kicked ass. On that bill was also THE VON CURSES who we thought were great Garage rock from Seattle, and also on that bill was a band called ZERO DOWN. They were technically great, and had one of my favorite singers from my hardcore days Hawk on vocals. He is truly one of the big men of rock and roll, plus they played songs by ACCEPT and GRIM REAPER. I must say though that MRNB totally rocked that night. I will post the awsome poster that was made by Justin Hampton for the show, totally amazing, I love that guy. THE VON CURSES kept buying us shots of whisky and our friend Rose said she could see us getting drunker and drunker, which translates into stupider and stupider as our 30 minute set rolled along. Even if we sucked, we had that crowd eating out of the palm of our hands ha ha ha...We also played with the Freddy and Christine of PINK CHIHUAHUA fame's new band THE HOLY NAME DROPOUTS. They were a lot of fun, we also played with MOTORMOUTH and they reminded me of COOKIE with out the hooks, but given some time, may be on their way to being one of the rockingingest bands in Seattle. On the real stupidity side of things as K, Dirty J, and I (Bunty) got MRNB tatoos from Marcus MOTORAMA's sister Serena. She is at Gallery F in Seattle. We are so fuckin' dumb. Justin Hampton came down for the show, and I want to give him the congrat's right here, I know he is excited about being a new papa. That is so cool, and as I always say....Better you than me.

A couple of weeks ago we played at the CHEMAWA INDIAN SCHOOL. We were asked to do this by ETHOS, INC. a non-profit music education place. It was really a strange experience. I don't know what the kids really thought of us. We had to play at from 6 pm to 7 pm. We had to watch our cursing and that was about it. I thought heck, we would have a great time even if it was not the kind of music they were into. I did't realize that it was a bording school for Native American kids and they had to sit while we played. We gave away a bunch of shirts though and afterwards kids with good grades were allowed to come up and hang out with us. Most of the kids were pretty nice, but I kind of felt sorry for them too. I couldn't imagine being in that sort of environment all school year. I guess they bring in different kinds of bands every Wednesday during the school year to expose the kids to different kinds of music.

We played our worst show in awhile with THE DOLLAR STORE COWBOYS at the DV8. Those guys are fuckin' cool, good songs in the cowpunk vein. The best part is that they had to beat it back to Tacoma, but wanted to see us play. We got on stage and sucked like nobody's business. I blame Dirty. TROPHYWIFE played that night too, and goddamn if it wasn't one of the best shows I had seen them play in awhile, I think having Eddie on second guitar really frees Dan up to kick some ass. By the way did tackle Dan on stage that night. I love those guys. There was this other band too from San Francisco, who sucked ass worse than us, soooo...I'll leave it at that.

We also played at Porky's again on Valentines day. The lovely TROPHYWIFE played with us, and then Big Scotty Kellogg (That's SK of SK and the PUNK ASS BITCHES for those not in the know) shows up with none other than Pat Fuckin' Schmick from Spokane. I haven't seen Pat in a long time, but it was really good to see him. Also being Porky's and all we did way to many jello shots, we giggled like little sorority girls. Scooter came out too. For those of you who don't know Scooter, he was in the old Portland band Jr. Samples which of course had me, Lyle, and K in the band. Hell it was the only band I was ever in that made money. Weird huh?

Seeing as how I am going on and on...We finally played at Dante's with none other than HONKY which if you don't know is Jeff Pinkus from the BUTTHOLE SURFERS band. They were awsome, the CD does not do them justice. They also invited us to come to Austin and play with them sometime. Son-of-a-Bitch! Ditchliquor also played and they are some very cool cats as well. We also played with MOTORAMA from Vancouver, BC recently. I guess we have just really lucked out, cause for suckin as bad as we do we get to hang out with some really rad people. MOTORAMA, are some of those people. Loud, noisey, lots O' energy. MOTORAMA is most people I know's cup of tea, or pint of beer whatever you prefer. I do want to put one fuck you to the FE FI FO FUMS. I liked their band, but they were far to cool to even try to check us out. Fuckin' Assbiters!

2/3/04 we are playing a shitload of shows this month and going into March. Played a totally kickass show at the Twilight the other night, surprised the hell out of us since it was the first show of the new year. SADO-NATION has Steve Casmano filling back in on bass 'til they get someone new. It was good to see one of the classic lineups. We are going to be playing with some kickass bands and good friends so even if you are sick of seeing us, come on out to one of our shows with HONKY, DITCHLIQUOR, THE ALTARBOYS, THE NEINS, THE BUTTFRENCHERS, DOLLAR STORE COWBOYS, TROPHYWIFE, THE BONONBO PROJECT, MOTORAMA, and that is just a few...

As you may have read before, The 7" should be out anytime. It was sent to Jack Endino for mastering now we are just waiting for the press and getting the printing done. I will show us at our fastest that is for sure. As fast as the steamroller of rock can move anyway. That is it for now until next time...

OK, so I've been back from vacation for a couple of months, I guess I've just been lazy. We played Lloyd Lee's birthday party at the Twilight and that was good. Played with THE ALTARBOYS, SIRIUS (from Bend, OR, they were rotten and pretentious) and PUZZLED PANTHER. It was cool. For their first show they sure had a great crowd really rocking out. It is ex-members of WITCH THROTTLEGUSH, and a few other local rockers. Heavy shit dude. The recordings for the 7" are done and we have one song left to mix. It is called TO FAT FOR LOVE and will also be availble as a CD single, for those of you who don't have a record player. It will be on the awsome INFRINGEMENT RECORDS we will now join the kick ass roster with 800 OCTANE, LOPEZ, THE AUTOMATICS, THE RC5, THE PEABODYS and MOTORHOME. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we did play our first local all ages show at the Vertigo Gallery over in Vancover, WA. It was pretty good actually. I didn't like any of the bands we played with, so I don't remember their names. You wouldn't want to see them anyway. We are going to try and play a few more all ages shows and see how we do. That show did generate one fan, and we do appreciate them. We also played recently with THE DEL TOROS and THE BONOBO PROJECT at Porky's Pub here in town. Surprisingly it was great show. We had a good time considering we went to it with a really crappy attitude. I think we will play there again too. Did a show at the DV8 with THE CIVIES who were fun, and a band from Seattle called GUILTY AS HELL, who were some cool fuckin' guys playing good ol' rock and roll. 'til next time...(11/16/03)

sooo many things to talk about...I'm going on vacation will write when I get back...-Bunty 9/10/03

We had a great show with DEAD MOON. The OBLIVIAN SEEKERS played their last show with Tina singing. That is a shame. I guess she is moving away. The cover art for the 7" is almost done. Anyone with a sense of humor will probably enjoy it. Played a great show over in Bend with with THE GINAS. An almost all moms band, but hey they still looked good and wrote some fun songs. The opener was a new band called NO COMPLY, also pretty dang good for one of their first shows. Lets see what else has been going on...The annual PDX ADULT SOAPBOX DERBY is happening Sunday August 24th. Bring Beer! It is the most fun you can have on a Sunday, and you don't even have to have to be racing. Played a last minute show too, over at The DV8 again (every other week for two months, at least they pay) worst we have played in awhile, but still had a good time. Played with HUSSY, THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY, AND THE DEL TOROS. All local bands enjoying each others company. It seems more people are starting to go to that place, but maybe we have just been lucky lately. Until next time...Brent.

OK, we have recorded a few songs. One for a new comp, called DAMNED FOR ALL TIME, VOLUME 4. This will be featuring many local rock and punk acts from around Portland. It is on National Dust Records. The song we gave them is called, "Big Men of Rock And Roll". We also recorded three songs for a seven inch called, "To Fat for Love" coming out on INFRINGEMENT RECORDS. The songs are "The Ass You Kiss May Be Your God", "Super Bario Gomez", and "1313 Mockingbird Lane" All of which rock of course. We have played some great shows lately especially with THE STRAP-ONS from Norfolk, Virginia also on the bill were CHIX PACK from San Francisco, THE GO-DOWNS, and THE MONEYCHANGERS. We played six songs, the set only lasted about 15 minutes. It was one of the most fun shows I had played in town in a long time; it was at the TWILIGHT of course. THE MONEYCHANGERS were really cool, and invited us to play another bill with them at KELLY'S OLYMPIAN. Now this is one of the oldest bars in Portland. I played there 5 years or so ago, but it has really undergone a transformation. It is not so much old man chic, but now has vintage motorcycles hanging from the ceiling, and a more of a rock vibe. THE MONEYCHANGERS were great, it seems that some bands get better if they drink to much. Their keyboard player Ann scares the hell out of me. COOTIE PLATOON started off the evening and got people out of their seats and up to the front to shake a little booty. Until next time...

Well, well, well...this is the first installment since the west coast tour at the end of March. Does anybody really ever read this thing? It was fun, now if only we can stay out of medical centers, and repair shops we may have close to a perfect trip someday. Along for the ride was INFRINGEMENT RECORDS head honcho Conor Ferguson. It was his first time going on the road. He was quickly dubbed Roadie, I think the name may have stuck forever. We started having band problems the day we left. The van had been in the shop for two weeks to be prepared fo the trip. We thought the transmission was going. We put some tranny fluid in and things seemed OK. Realizing along the way that the tranny was not the problem, but something more devious. We got to our show in Blue Lake, CA and had a good show in a Bowling Ally where our buddies from home, THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY, kick J and K's asses in a game of bowling. Of course we kicked their asses when it came to rocking. The next day we went to have the van repaired in Arcata, CA. The mechanic was so cool he only charged us $20 bucks for several hours work stopped an oil leak, and figured out we were having an electrical problem, not a tranny problem. We thought it was licked.

Halfway to San Francisco it acted up again. We limped it to the show at the Curve Bar where again we were with THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY, and an excellent band called MOTORHOME. We will both be putting out stuff on INFRIGEMENT RECORDS by the way. We are treated excellent all night and the next day by the booker Nick Nava also of the JACK SAINTS, his roommates and Sam of the SCURVY DOGS, who managed to get shitfaced in the park with us...and 100 proof peppermint schnaps. During this time Dirty J is being carried by K and stomps on his foot while falling down. We get Dirty into the van to pass out and head back to Nicks place Dirty pisses himself and passes out later he is hauled out by the cops, 'cause someone called him in Dead.

Since the van had been acting up we decide to head to Hollywood in the middle of the night, and stay with our friend, comedian DOUG SAVERCOOL. He gives us a place to crash. We get up the next day and look at K's foot. It is really, really swollen. We take him to the hobo hospital and he gets outfitted in a cast and crutches. No more hauling gear the rest of the trip for him.

We get to our show in San Diego at Scolaris Office, hung over as hell and see an old friend Kim Wallace. That was really cool seeing old friends in new places. The show is a really great bill I can't remember the bands names though, I get hammered, on accident and K and Dirty are far to hung to be very exciting. We played an extremley lack luster show, but were treated very well by booker Jack and got to witness the power that was KOLAB. In San Diego the next day we take the van in for a new alternater.

Things seem good on our way back up to Downey, and then the van acts up again. I should explain when it acts up it seems to run OK but only in 2nd gear. We can only drive 50 miles an hour. We get to the Anarchy Library in Downey, CA and are treated so well it is amazing. Man, I wish I could remember the owners name, but he was awsome. All bands should play this place. Great people. I want to thank Sick Rick from the DISFUNCTIONALS, for setting the show up, and we got to see his girlfriends boobs too, Wahoo!

We spent 2 nights in Las Vegas, we were again so hung over when we got there from the show the night before, which ended with Liable, and Roadie vomiting all over Dirty and then both passing out. The van never smelled better. Anyway, our show in Palm Springs had been cancelled but we were to tired to have much fun in Las Vegas the first night, but were sure looking forward to the show the next night. We played at the Cooler Lounge to about 7 people and I think only one was there to see music. We did meet the awsome TINKLEPOTTY from Hawaii. That almost made it worth it. A good night of drinking was had and our hostess Chris MacDonald was awsome and took us all around the seedier sides of L.V. and we drank.

The next night was in Anaheim, I should have known not to go behind the Orange Curtain. They do not like dirty rock and roll in Orange County!!! We played at a Bikini Bar, called Sugars. The bartender was in a bikini, we wished she wasn't. Everyone wished she wasn't. We played OK but they looked scared. DICFOR whom we met throught the United Punk network were cool and they had set the show up. They were more pop/punk and what the crowd wanted.

Then the last night we played in Redding one of our favorite places at the Red, White and Brew, not as good as shows we've had there in the past, but still fun. There again are just the highlights of the trip. Believe me it could be much worse.

Since getting back we have recorded the songs for our upcoming 7" tentatively titled "To Fat For Love" that will be on INFRINGEMENT RECORDS, and a song called "The Big Men of Rock and Roll" for the upcoming DAMNED FOR ALL TIME #4 coming out on NATIONAL DUST records. That's enough for now 5/20/03

Some weekends just hurt. My ears are still ringing. Last friday after a long day at work, we were back at Shityricon. I told myself I would never play here again. Then they get the nice booker, who is hard to say no to. Well...We went and kicked some ass. Followed by the amazing 8Foot Tender (ex-Humpers)and now on Long Beach Records and good friends who helped us with our recording (damn! if that ain't a name dropping plug!) They were great and the audience was totally hyped by them. Then the big names of the night the D4 from New Zealand. Were they good? yeah. Did they live up to all of the hype by the radio? nah. Did they have a nicer tour bus than DIO? yep. I don't know about these guys...good musicians, dress all hip and cute sound kinda like the HIVES maybe a little TURBONEGRO. Smells of "Next big thing". Finally up was COBRA DENIM. I admit they are gear heads, their music sounds a bit dated (late 70's early 80's)metal. After all the big hype of the D4 who played lack luster to a fairly full room, and these guys played to far less. They put on twice the show. They played like they were playing to 10,000 instead of 10. I loved 'em. Saturday Night! after another long day at work, Cheerist! I drag my sorry ass to the Ash Street Opening slot again, but our 3rd time with DEAD MOON! Hell, This is the first time We've played with the FIRBALLS OF FREEDOM since our very first show. Hell, not only was it kinda full, it sold the fuck out! We coulda played a little better, but we kept the insults and energy level high. This was almost as much fun as the GLORYHOLES show. I can't wait for next weekend!

A quick note: Why do Japanese bands come over and kick my ass everytime. I know there have got be some shitty bands in Japan. PEELANDER-Z are from Japan, now residing in New York. Amazing freakin' band. Funny and tight go see them, nuff said. Of course, we had to play after them. I just felt like a dumbass. Who can follow that shit. We also played with JIMMY FLAME & THE SEXXY BOYS who were just alright, and made me feel better about myself. They sounded like a cheap SOCIAL DISTORTION. Rounding out this night was TOUGH LOVE. This was the best I have ever seen them. I didn't think it would be as fun now that they are without the backup singers The Bella Nasti, but hell it was great. A fun night in a new club (DV8) and we even got paid.

Ok, so in December we ended the year with a fantastic show at Zak's in Seattle. I apparently broke a womans toe. I also apparently have torn the minescus in my right knee, a good thing since my insurance ran out in October...doh! We started off the show by setting the rock bar and watching great bands, try but not quite attain the our level of rockdom. THE AUTHORITIES, tried to use their full throttle blast of punk, and THE TRIGGERS did their best, but looking like 1980 ain't gonna put you over the top when it comes to rock laid down by the MRNB. Lo an behold!! then came out the fuckin' GLORYHOLES. That was a sight to see. They packed the house and had all of us old fuckers dancing aound like little kids in a sandbox filled with sugar. Consequently their were injuries...I can't wait to play with them again on Feb. 1

I know I haven't done an update here in awhile, but there has been a reason. Dirty J was going to write up the horrible attempt we made at tour. I will do my best to summerize it. We played August 1st in town at the Blackbird with our friends TROPHYWIFE and a great bluegrass sorta band from Austin, TX called THE MEAT PURVEYORS. A great show and a good time was had by all. The next night in Seattle was kinda crappy, but our friend Connor from insurrection records showed up and was just shy of his 21st Birthday, but they let him hang out anyway. The next day we played in Missoula with SHARK PANTS and SASSHOLE. Stu and Brian from MIDNIGHT THUNDER EXPRESS showed up and they seem to have a way of getting people really amped up. One of the best shows I've ever played in Missoula. Well, the next day we drove to Billings, and when we got there it was supposed to be a party, the guy who booked it had not done anything and on top of that was out of town. Whatever, we decided we would just drive for awhile stop and have dinner and be that much closer to Rapid City, our next show. We hit a dog and a field mouse and went through golf ball sized hail, something I didn't believe really existed. We stay in rest stop in Sheridan, Wyoming. The next morning we are on our way we notice the van starts to make some funny sounds. We decide when we get to Rapid City that we had better check it out. We are only about 30 miles outside of Sheridan when the van finally overheats and dies. We call AAA and wait. We get it, and the U-haul we are towing, towed back to a small town called Buffalo. We are given the, "It must be rough being city boys stuck way out here" speech from the owner of the tow place and shop we are taken to. We decide to have the van taken back to Sheridan. We rent a car and call 4U Store in Rapid City and cancel. They then tell us that if we get the van fixed we can play the next night. We decide that we will either get the van fixed or if it is going to be awhile we will rent or buy something to get us continuing on the trip. The next morning we decide to buy a cheap van or car to tow the trailer and we start looking. In the mean time Lyle starts to not feel so well. He in fact asks to go to the hospital. We drop him off thinking he is just constipated or something. We end up buying a 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis for $800.00. We then have a trailer hitch put on and it pull the trailer better than the van. We get the van to a shop to what we then found out was to get new engine. We go to pick up Lyle. He had been admitted and was getting his appendix out that evening. That pretty much ruins any chance of salvaging the tour. We call and cancel all of the shows. The next morning we visit Lyle in the hospital and he is going to be there at least 2 more days. We decide to go sight seeing since we are stuck there. The Sturgis rally was happening so we decide to check that out and then go camp in the Badlands national park. Sturgis was great, we get some souveniers and check out the grotesque amount of motorcycles. We then head out we are about 20 miles east of Rapid City when the new car starts making the same sound as the van. We limp it down to a truck stop in New Underwood, SD. We try to fix it, but it is to far gone. Some nice folks who worked at the mini-mart let us stay on the floor of their apt. They next day they drove us back to Rapid City where we rented a van to haul all of our crap back to Sheridan. We get there and in the mean time someone back home had been searching for a U-Haul or Ryder truck for us to get home with. She finally found one. We ended up getting a truck and a trailer large enough to carry the van. Special K and Dirty J take the van back to Rapid City and catch a Greyhound back to Portland, Lyle and I take take the Ryder and head back. So here we are about $4500.00 in the hole. Funny thing though, no one got really pissed or anything. We actually all got along great. Other than that...We have played in Seattle for Freddy of PINK CHIHUAHUA fame's birthday. It was awsome. COOTIE PLATOON and the DIE JOBS played too. We are writing some new songs so we will be quiet for awhile. The van has a brand new motor and are looking to tour for a week in the spring.

7/28/02 - OK, I find it interesting that we can play a local show (7/20/02)and actually have people getting really excited. It's been almost two years since I got this going and even our friends have shown up occasionally, only out of courtesy. We finally get on a good bill in town (at least since our first show with Fireballs of Freedom)and people really seemed to enjoy us. I don't know if they were just drunk(our usual fans)or still excited by COOKIE's exceptional performance or what. I mean it was a killer bill, SK AND THE PUNK ASS BITCHES (who doesn't love Scotty), TROPHYWIFE and COOKIE, but only out of town have people really enjoyed us before. Maybe there is hope in Portlands hipster rock scene for fat, old, mean, drunks like us...hmmmmmm.

The night before we went on down to Redding, CA. Now most people wonder what the hell there is to do in Redding except sweat. I'll tell you what...THE KANSAS CITY STARS. Good honest rock and roll with a little pop so the ladies can shake their asses. There may have been men shaking their asses too, but I wasn't payin any attention to them. Shaun can drink like nobody's business, he was the last man standing that evening. He books a fun club called the Red, White and Brew. Free beer and an eclectic crowd. Everybody had a great time, I think and I'm looking forward to going back. Watch for the KANSAS CITY STARS doing their west coast tour the begining of August.

7/12/02 - Well a couple of things are going on in the swamp. The CD will not make it out before tour. We will have short demo versions available but that is the best we can do. The machine at the studio we recorded at has broken and the shop say's they don't know when or if they can fix it. Other than that. The tour is pulling together. Did I even mention that we are going on tour. Come on down and challenge us to a drinking contest.

We played at Satyricon last night 7/11/02 and well I just don't know how often we can play off nights here in Portland without having large drawing bands on the bill. We had a good time none the less. It was the sloppiest we have been in a long time. We played with two frightening metal bands, VEGAN KILLING MACHINE and KILLINGSWORTH. Both local bands. BACKWASH from Bend, OR cancelled wich is just as well, we got home at a reasonable hour.

6/28/02 - Last weekend we played in Richland, Washington, the Tri-Cities area, and Missoula, Montana. Liable had his debut and with only a few minor errors we were our usual suave and drunken selves.

In Richland we played at The Frontier Tavern, with TROPHYWIFE, who had us haul up there guitars and they decided to cruise up to the show on motorcycles. They showed up really late and just in time to play. Joe’s bike is probably still on the side of the road near Boardman if anyone wants a free broken motorcycle. They played great for having to jump right on stage and go. We played our short but sweet set, and then a funny thing happened. People then started to show up. The bartender and booker, The Lovely Debbie, said to play again. TROPHYIFE and THE MUDDY RIVER NIGHTMARE BAND both obliged. Between us a band from Seattle called THE WRECK (formerly LOS CHINGOLOS) who had shown up. We got them to play a couple of songs too. They had played an all ages show down at Atomic Records.

There was an after hours party at the record store but being old and already drunk and stumbling distance from the hotel…well, lets just say I didn’t have as much fun as Special K and Dirty J did trying to find the record store drunkenly in the middle of the night. They did not have any luck.

The coolest thing in Richland was the big giant hot rod show that was in town and there were more fuckin’ cool cars than you can imagine, just cruisin’ around.

The next day we were in Missoula. We did stop on the way for free sandwiches and fresh from the oven homemade cookies at my girlfriends grandmothers house in Alberton. Thanks Grandma Patch! Anyway…we were met by the most excellent Dave Parsons (SASSHOLE, DISGRUNTLED NATION) and Jen (SASSHOLE) and Brent (DISGRUNTLED NATION, ASS END OFFEND). We had a great time got to play with THE WRECK, only this time we got to see there whole set, and a local streetpunk band called THE REPTILE DYSFUNCTION. Jay’s Upstairs is one of the most fun places to play. People in Missoula seem to have more fun than people in other places and I don’t know why. Unfortunately Brent was drunk and left us and we didn’t know how to get to the place where we were supposed to stay. We found a cheap motel and snuck everyone into the room. It was fine. See them all again soon. Other news: I am still needing any help I can get booking our tour for the beginning of August. Please contact me bcarnage@earthlink.net if you can help at all.

5/24/02 - Well this week was kind of sad in that we had to say goodbye to Bobo. Bobo had some interests that were on another musical path, and we wish him good luck. We did have to cancel our Memorial day show at Satyricon due to lack of drummer. I also would like to thank Melissa from Cootie Platoon, Dylan from Trophywife, Louie from Oblivian Seekers, Greg from 8 Foot Tender/The Gays and Colin from The Speds/Warriors of Ghengis Kahn for all offering to help us until we could get someone permenant. As luck would have it who calls but Liablemorethanlikeable from our old BOMF!/Jr. Samples days. He is looking for a band and would love to drum for us. So we will be able to continue with our shows in June, July and tour in August. The CD will be mastered soon, and then we will get it out. It is called Attack of the Crocodile Men. Thanks to Charlie Babbage for the cool artwork.

4/27/02 - OK we are up and going on the web, we had a fun show last night at Conans here in Portland. The Die Jobs, The High & The Mighty and Hussy were all great. New CD will be done soon. Of course we'll keep ya updated. Bobo has not been consistantly wearing his mask. Last night the ladies got to see why we keep him undercover.
