Raiders Launch Children's Web Site

Taking their commitment to children to the Internet, The Oakland Raiders have launched a new web site for children. The new site is entitled Raiders4Kids. The Raiders have partnered with The Children's Internet, an Oakland-based educational technology company, to provide an immersive educational and entertaining online experience for children of all ages.

Raiders fullback Jon Ritchie, a Stanford University graduate with an active interest in the Internet and the children's community, will act as official spokesperson for Raiders4Kids.

Raiders4Kids will feature news, games, surveys, information and educational content, along with team information and statistics. It will also feature a special "Ask Jon Ritchie" section where visitors can e-mail questions to be answered and posted on the site by Ritchie. New features and content will be added on a regular basis.

"It is important the Raiders acknowledge the fantastic opportunities the World Wide Web allows us. It's almost a magical phenomenon that I click into for hours at a time," says Ritchie. "Its incredible to me that young folks know more about current computer technology than I do. It's not always accompanied by a sense of purpose. I would rather reach out to them and put an educational spin on having fun. Not all kids are as fortunate to have the opportunity to pattern themselves after a role model as I was able to. Now I'm able to return positivity, integrity and character to the kids."

"It's tremendous to work with The Oakland Raiders - our home team - who share our commitment to providing fun, entertaining and educational experiences to children," says Nasser Hamedani, CEO of The Children's Internet. "We are looking forward to bringing a new standard of excellence to young Raiders fans online."

The Children's Internet is a division of Two Dog Net, Inc., a software security company that has created a technology to allow users live, unrestricted access to pre-selected learning and entertainment sites on the World Wide Web within a secure, unbreakable safety application. The company is privately held and headquartered in Oakland, Calif.
