Mr. Smith-That is pleasant to see my friend! I am happy that although I am Christian, and I knew only about Christian Spain, I am happy to learn more as you say insha'allaah, about Islamic Spain!
Sidi Gharsiyya-Ena'af yemki fel khair errih'lak feghudzuni kadhaa El Andalus el qdeem, 'nta hatete'allem 'anni mash gir Esbaanya Baiduniyya Islamiyya, lekin 'anni ennaas el Mudajjaan bwi khutna wi khuteena el Mawaarika jowwa el Esbaanya ah'san ektar!

Lesson 2
Lel Qalat el Ah'mar (At the Alhambra)
(Andalusian Arabic)
Sidi Gharsiyya wi Sidi Smith, ayqadhoo badree fessabah wi waçaloo fel khair, lel Qalat el Ah'mar fe Gharnatah. Maadhee, el manthar el asar el 'adheem kaan weh'du fee dhaayahi, el garez!
Mr. Gharsiyya and Mr. Smith, woke up early in the morning and arrived at last, at the Alhambra in Granada. Certainly, the view of the great monument by itself in itself, is of admiration!
Sidi Gharsiyya-Hekda, gool leyya Sidi Smith, en'ana enna 'nta fel khair hna, shlu tedhunn?
Mr. Gharsiyya-So, tell me Mr. Smith, now that you are here at last, what do you think?
Sidi Smith-Tesseh' Sidi Gharsiyya!
Mr. Smith-Truly Mr. Gharsiyya! To look at it in person is only, makes my imagination return to the past of Al Andalus. As a historian, this is of great importance!
Mr. Gharsiyya-Yes certainly Mr. Smith, in the whole of the province of Andalusia wherever one goes, one always speaks about the Alhambra. We the Andalusians know, that the Alhambra it is the foothold and the center of what was Al Andalus!
Sidi Smith-Ettarkeeb fee dhaayahi nhu 'ialaan el a'maal el artikisur el Belediyyun, wi yeddan alaam enna el Belediyyun kaanu naas ma'a hijayyah 'adheemah. Ana maççadaqsh nhu mubalaghah yegul deka Sidi Gharsiyya helaa?
Mr. Smith-The structure in person it is a manifestation of great arquitecturial work of the Moors, and also a sign that the Moors were people with great intelligence. I don't believe it is an exaggeration to say that Mr. Gharsiyya is it not?
Sidi Gharsiyya-Mkunsh kallaa, mudhu nhu el heqq! Bel eksi ana braa, 'indee iman haadha. Ghaiben wi 'ala alfaa'ini ana niftekr el asaatheer 'anni el Qalat el Ah'mar. Ka tefl wi shabb kuntu edaima adhinat lessidq, elladhi el khafi wi dasisah el Qalat el Ah'mar.
Mr. Gharsiyya-Not at all, since it is the truth! On the contrary I too, have this belief. From memory I remember the fables about the Alhambra. As as child and young man I was always attentative to the truthfulness, concerning the mystery and intrigue of the Alhambra.
Sidi Smith-'Nta gaalt enna eddawlah nwaas Nasridun, kunna eddawlah el akhaira yuskun feddahkhil el Qalat el Ah'mar. Gasr haadha sheeh', kaan murtras el majmua'a el Beiduniyya!
Mr. Smith-You said that the dynasty of the Nasrid, was the last dynasty to dwell within the Alhambra. This fortress truly, was a bulwark of Moorish society!
Sidi Gharsiyya-Na'am, el Qalat el Ah'mar kaan el jaah el 'adheemah lel Belediyyun. Muwassas enna el Qalat el Ah'mar bedun mua'alijaa, nhu el mafaazaa ekbarah el Andalus ao Esbaanya Islamiyya!
Mr. Gharsiyya-Yes, the Alhambra was of great dignity to the Moors. It is established that the Alhambra without dispute, it is the greatest achievement of Al Andalus of Islamic Spain!
Sidi Smith-Nhu jalil Sidi!
Mr. Smith-It is splendid Sir!
Sidi Gharsiyya-Ta'ala, ruh'oo qabl nhu wakhree!
Mr. Gharsiyya-Come on, let us go before it is late!
Sidi Smith-Na'am Sidi!
Mr. Smith-Yes Sir!
Once inside the Alhambra the realization of the monument immediately gave insight into what life was for the Moors to Mr. Smith.
Mr. Smith-No wonder Mr. Gharsiyya, this monument represents the essence of everything from what is of my understanding of the Moors. Comparable to other civilisations of Islam, it is henceforth of great prominence!
Sidi Gharsiyya-Ma'a dhaallaahi, ana nkun raajil eççelef! Haadha hayekun le Andalusee eshain, lekin nfeh'im h'isak!
Mr. Gharsiyya-God forbid, I am a man of boasting! This would be to an Andalusian a disgraceful thing, but I do understand your perception!
Mr. Smith-Sir, supposedly what is the possibility, that if the Moors or as you say in Classical Arabic El Magharabat were yet, the inheritor of Andalusia, that the monument of the Alhambra would be more than a mere treasure to a Caliph but instead, a threshhold and inspiration to every youth in Andalusia striving to have a connection with their past?
Mr. Gharsiyya-Honest to God, it would be of great dignity and importance to all. Behold, the Garden of the Architect praise be to Allah, we give thanks to Allah, that this garden you see, it is like a rainbow, very beautiful to see.
Mr. Smith-It is like you say Sir! Comparable to other cities in Spain, Granada was and is the heart of Al Andalus!
Sidi Gharsiyya-Lukan, ensha'allaah, gurrayib hayekun mumkin leyna nenshuf el madina el jameela el Maraabela!
Mr. Gharsiyya-If possible, God be willing, soon it will be possible for us to see the great city of Marbella!
Sidi Smith-Ana hanenkun ferh'aan yeshuf, madina jameela deki!
Mr. Smith-I will be happy to see, that beautiful city!
Sidi Gharsiyya-Matkheyyeqsh, hnaaka hwayej ektarah ba'ad hna yeshuf!
Mr. Gharsiyya-Don't worry, there are still many things to see here!
