EL ASBIYYAH

Allahu ekbar wel Andalus el ekbar edaima fel khair!
The Alhambra.

(In English)

El Qal'at el Hambra "The Red Fort," was first built by the Caliph Ibn el Ahmar of Granada! It was regarded as one of the most beautiful arquitectural wonders, ever built by the Moors during their nearly 800 years reign! It's splendid garden was known in Arabic, as "Jennat el-Arif", meaning "Garden of the Architect!" For hundreds of years it has remained upto this day, as a vibrant reminder of what was once Al Andalus!

In late 1491, Ferdinand and Isabel had arrived at the last stronghold of Moorish Al Andalus in Granada, the last emir Boabdil ('Abu 'Abd Allah Muh'ammad ibn Ali), was defeated. By the 2 of January in 1492, the capture of the sole remaining stronghold of Moorish Spain, was complete! As the cross and banners of Castile casted their first Christian shadows across the 9th century Alcazaba, Boabdil and his followers retired to the Alpujarras mountains. As he turned for a final look at the once prominent glory of Granada, it is said that he lamented that of which he could not defend the last vestige, of Moorish Al Andalus! In the years to come under Christian rule, Granada would be reduced to a neglected once glorious ancient city by the Christian kingdom. It would take many years, before it would be restored, to it's rightful place of prominence!

Brothers and sisters though it has been 510 yrs, that the Moors (Al Baladiyyun), were driven out of Spain in 1492, the Moorish legacy still continues in Al Andalus in the form of the Mudéjares and Moriscos of today in or out of Spain. We are 510 yrs behind the Islamic world in Islam, the Qura'an, and our Islamic roots. Therefore alhamdulillaah, that as proud descendants of the Moors, we the Mudéjares and Moriscos aside of Spain, are once again eager to build new madrasas and mosques, in what was known as Al Andalus! It is said after Boabdil handed the keys of the last Moorish kindgom of Al Andalus to Ferdinand and Isabel, and as his men galloped out of Granada and headed for the mountains of the Alpujarras, thus so did the history of the Moors finally come to an end with them! Now 510 yrs afterwards the sounds of the Moorish horses can be heard anew, and the shout of "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar," by Tarik ibn Ziyad and the men that rode into Spain with him are being heard again, in Al Andalus. For it resides in the hearts of all Mudéjares and Moriscos. And today alhamdulillaah the history of the Moors and Al Andalus is being taught to the generations of Moriscos and Mudéjares of today. The once glorious past of Al Andalus. Oh Al Andalus, you are always in our hearts forever!

"Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar! Yaa al Andalus, 'nta tkun bel qulubna edaima!"

"Allahu Akbar!"

"RABBANA AATHINAA MILLADUNKA RAH'MATAN WA H'AYYI' LANAA MIN AMRINAA RASHADA!"

"MY LORD! OH MAKE ME TO ENTER A GOODLY ENTERING, AND CAUSE ME TO GO FORTH A GOODLY GOING FORTH, AND GRANT ME FROM NEAR THEE A POWER TO ASSIST ME!"

"Allahu akbar!"
