Stedding are small, unique places in which channelers cannot sense, touch, or use the One Power. These places are well hidden, and inside are peaceful and restful places with unnaturally virile plant growth. Ogier must spend one week for every year within a stedding or they become sick from “the Longing” and can eventually die if they do not return soon.
Ogier Society
Due to their long life spans, Ogier are careful and deliberate in their actions. They enjoy fine, heavily embroidered clothing with the intricacy of embroidery indicating their social status. They are lead by a council of Elders, dominated by the oldest, wisest Ogier. Women dominate their culture, arranging their sons’ marriages without any consultation on his part.
