Warhammer 40K in the d20 System

Note: I actually happen to be a rather proficient individual in the finer nuances of English grammar and structure (I like to think). For people reading this segment of my website, please note that, in keeping with the Warhammer ideal, I am using choice bits of their European-flavored text, and it is not ignorance on my part. They just so happen to be overly liberal in their use of "u", "e", and a few other letters of the alphabet. Thanks much, and enjoy the war.

I happen to be a big fan of the d20 system, and play Star Wars Revised and 3rd Ed Dungeons & Dragons often, as well as a little Stargate SG-1. Warhammer 40,000 is a fun game, with an incredible amount of detail provided, but I have yet to see an RPG system I like for it. (Maybe someday, I'll look into Inquisitor.) So, I have decided to slightly alter the rules for revised Star Wars, being the closest in setting, to fit the Warhammer 40K universe. Most of this will only be based on Star Wars for rules-purposes. There are no Jedi in Warhammer, yet. The universe will consist, as best I understand it, from what books I have read on the setting. There will be playable races (Imperium, Chaos, Eldar, etc.) and there will be NPC-only (Nids, Necrons, and Orks, most likely), who are just a bit too difficult to play sufficiently, or who do not actually possess individual enough characters. Squad mentalilty is one thing, but most Necrons and Tyranids DO NOT possess free will and conscious thought at all. As for Orks, well, everybody would have to be one, and Imperial Guard just aren't cool enough, although it might be possible.

DETAILS
Certain things need to be taken into account for running the game. First,Warhammer focuses a good deal on slugthrower weapons. Most people have projectile weapons; even the highly advanced ones, like Eldar. Also, the setting of Warhammer makes use of some epic setting stuff. The greatest of the Space Marines are just that much better, and some people will just live that long. Hyperspace travel is replaced with warp travel, of a sort. The travel time will be about the same, usually (mwahahahaha!!!), and the ship will have a travel time based on the skill of the Navis Nobilite astropath that transmits it. Real Warhammer focuses on a squad-based army style, while RPG focuses more on individual actions. To comprimise, many characters who care to will be able to have a group they command (sort of a minions/followers thing), and those who do not have the rank, such as beginning anythings, will likely be assigned to a squad run by the GM. This will be especially efficient when multiple players are playing the same kind of character; a scenario that makes d20 Warhammer run a good deal more smoothly.
