New Alternity Group
Hierarchy Techno-Priest
When a group of humans crash-landed on a desolate planet, they found a primitive civilation whose god looked remarkably like them. Having seen these "god-like" beings fall from heaven in a device they had never seen before, the people belived that angels had come down to guide and dwell with them. Not wanting to ruin this chance, the humans were all to willing to play the role of God's messangers, and they have even gone so far as to make their own message for their own ends, in the words of the Geat God of course. These human men and women lord their technology over the illiterate public, forcing the people to slave and work and build for them, gaining insight from their lord and knowing that, should they please him, their lives will improve. To more adequately play the role, the humans disassembled and jury-rigged together various technologies they had, cannibalizing body tanks, star swords, and droids to build what was necessary to fufill the expectations the people had of them. To their credit, the humans are looking into technology to improve the climate, knowing that if nothing changes, either their ruse will be up or their followers will work themselves to death.
EQUIPMENT
Hierarchy Clerical Robes: The robes, more than almost anything else, make the priest. These appear as red robes with metal helmets worked into the top and red gloves with metal in places. While these appear to be made of ermine, and are actually very beautiful, they serve a much more imprtant role than that of looking good; they are protection. These robes are actually highly technological devices, with almost every inch having some gizmo or gadget worked into it. The robe itself id really an energy web-modified CF softsuit with an ablative harness belt. When the ablative harness is engaged, the steel halo above their heads glows with energy. The wiring and servoes inside the suit also count as Good-quality cyberlimbs, giving a +2 to Strength for both arms. Also, the robes can inflate when the need arrises to serve as a floatation device. Even the gloves, gauntlets actually, are modified. They begin as basic power cesti, but are thenretooled with remnant star sword technology, allowing the wearer to summon to his hands a shaft of purple energy that, in reality, contains white-hot plasma. This shaft works just like a star sword, except that the power supply and clips are worked into the gloves and circuitry of the robes. The final touch of the robe's technology is that of the gravity displacer. With this, the robes, and their wearer, can levitate meters off of the ground, and move at speeds of up to 15 kilometers per hour. While not nearly as fast as the Angel Squadron of overland body tanks, this does allow the priest to fly in view of the populace, seemingly under his own power through the will of the Great God, and more importantly allows a quick escape if need be.
