GURDWARA PICTURES

Sikhs entering the gurdwara are accustomed to a sight like this. They must not wear shoes and must cover their head before bowing in front of the Guru Granth Sahib and offering money, flowers or milk
The worshippers then take there place sitting facing the Guru Granth Sahib. There is a division between the men and women attending, everyone is offered karah-prasad (sacred food) while they listen to recitals or hymns |
Afterwards everyone attends the langar (free kitchen) where they eat a meal that has been prepared by volunteers. The langar is available to anyone regardless of religion or caste |
