(2) DM: last weeks game: The part descend into the cellar.
To find a corpse of a adventurer warrior in gleming plate mail. When Donavan tries to examine the body he is attacked by rot grubs feasting on the body. The party manage to kill all the grubs. Then while searching the room Vadim find more grubs, one of which burrows into his skin. Vadim bravely stabs himself in order to kill the creature as it move about under his skin.
Discovering a concealed door. vadim opens it to reveal the living quarters for a group of men, completly at odds with the rest of the house. One of the men is present ,and after hearing Sparrow and Donavan demand his surrender he bolts for the exit. The party pursue, but lose him at the bottom of the stairs in the dark caverns underneth

(9) Hador: hello - i'm back (sorry aboout that)
(1) Vadim: ((By the way, next time, shoot first -- that way if they decide to run, you might get lucky and hit them in the leg))
(5) Sparrow: ((sparrow would never shoot and than ask))
** (1) Vadim bounds back up the steps to the bunk room. His expression is terse and his brow knotted. **
(1) Vadim: "He's gone," he says. "Vanished into some caves."
whispering to Vincent Voss, any questions about what happened last week?
** (8) Vincent Voss moves to the cellar stairs and looks down "Is everyone ok" **
(8) Vincent Voss (whispering): No I think you covered it thanks
(1) Vadim: ((You came down with us Vincent -- while you were gone))
** (5) Sparrow who didnt even pursue the man is now sitting on the table he is keeping his crossbow ready **
(8) Vincent Voss: ((Ok I didn't no thanks))
(8) Vincent Voss: "What were those men doing down here...?"
(5) Sparrow: "So what happened down there?"
** (8) Vincent Voss keeps alert for those nasty worm creatures **
(2) DM: Cellar: You have entered a room that is so unlike anything else you have seen in the House that for a moment you pause, somewhat taken aback. The illumination here is good since several lighted torches are held in shoulder-high brackets around the walls. This was obviously a cellar, but equally obviously it is now used for an entirely different purpose; your first impression is that it is the living quarters for about ten people.

Ten single beds (crude affairs - little more than thin mattresses on boards) stand with heads to the south wall, each with a small wooden locker at its foot. In the centre of the flagged floor is a long wooden trestle table on which there is a variety of cheap metal cutlery and earthenware crockery together with a large jug about half full of a light brown liquid. There are a dozen wooden stools round the table. Against the north wall are two casks, one larger than the other and both broached. The larger one is nearly full of a clear liquid, the smaller one about half full of a light brown liquid. A metal dipper hangs on the outside of the rim of the larger cask.

Next to the casks is a large wooden bin. Above it, hanging on hooks on the wall, are a large ham, a long string of sausages and a small side of meat. Next to the bin is what appears to be a crude, metal wood-fired stove standing in a fireplace. Above the stove, on a shelf, are some iron and earthenware cooking utensils, while next to it is a small pile of logs.

The room is 75' by 30' with a 10' wide 15' long corridor in the south east corner. Two doors lead off the corridor, one north and one to the east.

Near the foot of the stairs are two small, unbroached casks; next to them is a bolt of cloth.

(2) DM: ((cellar description again))
(2) DM: Eastern Door: The door to the east has a strong wooden bar across it, carried in brackets on the frame and the door itself. On the door has been written the single word 'DANGER' in the common tongue; this has been inscribed in large letters using chalk.

** (9) Hador retreats back into the cellar and shrugs his shoulders **
(9) Hador: "Methinks he wasn't expecting guests"
(5) Sparrow: "Well i say we post a guard at the door that leads downstairs. And explore this place for some clues?"
(2) Donavan Perrow: "I'll stand guard, if you wish"
** (8) Vincent Voss Nods but they will be expecting us now **
(1) Vadim: "My guess is there are at least nine of his friends around somewhere," Vadim says, noting the number of bed. "Perhaps more."
(1) Vadim: "Shall we try one of these doors? How about the one marked danger?"
** (5) Sparrow goes to the door (i will mark my possition with orange x) and carefully examines it. **
(8) Vincent Voss: *Checks under the beds and looks for any moving panels /compartments in the floor or walls
(8) Vincent Voss: "Maybe we can find some clues
(8) Vincent Voss (whispering): Could you roll a check for me
(5) Sparrow: Search Skill Check: [1d20+7] -> [1,7] = (8)
(1) Vadim: ((What is that thing in the room that looks like a staircase?))
whispering to Vincent Voss, you find no more secret doors or compartments
(2) DM: ((a staircase going up))
(1) Vadim: ((Where to?))
whispering to Sparrow, you find nothing out of the orinary on the door
(8) Vincent Voss: Lets head west through that door
(2) DM: (a trap door in the ceiling)
(1) Vadim: ((Ah, thanks))
** (2) Donavan Perrow goes towards the western door to stand guard, in case the human comes back **
** (5) Sparrow now examines the other door **
(5) Sparrow: Search Skill Check: [1d20+7] -> [2,7] = (9)
whispering to Sparrow, it has a strong bar accros it, and written in common is the word DANGER
** (1) Vadim walks over to east and stands next to Sparrow. "The west door leads down into caverns. We shall need more light to explore, and besides we have not yet found the Shakeshaft fellow." **
** (8) Vincent Voss waits bringing out his bow **
** (9) Hador makes his way to the foot of the steps that lead up to the trap door and watches it while the others search the doors **
** (5) Sparrow looks at the door with suspicion, and tries to concetrate better ... since he has a reason to expect a trap **
(5) Sparrow: Search Skill Check: [1d20+7] -> [8,7] = (15)
whispering to Sparrow, no difference
(5) Sparrow (whispering): hmm ...
(8) Vincent Voss: "Who was the figure in the platemail..?"
(8) Vincent Voss: "The warrior that was dead up there.."
(1) Vadim: "We have no idea, but he was not Ned. He had been dead for a long time."
(5) Sparrow (whispering): Damn ill take 20 if you allow
whispering to Sparrow, that will take a while
(8) Vincent Voss: "Ahh allright"
** (5) Sparrow is very peristant in checking the door with "Danger" sign **
whispering to Sparrow, and you can only take 10
(5) Sparrow (whispering): how long?
whispering to Hador, are you checking the trap door?
(5) Sparrow (whispering): i will roll again if you dont mind?
(8) Vincent Voss: "Maybe it means there is danger within, some horrid creature of some sort"
(5) Sparrow: Search Skill Check: [1d20+7] -> [1,7] = (8)
(1) Vadim: "Oh honestly, Sparrow," Vadim pouts. "I think the danger is probably beyond the door. You wouldn't trap and door then warn someone about it."
(8) Vincent Voss: "Someone should get a torch near that door just in case"
whispering to Sparrow, no deifference
** (5) Sparrow is having no succes and it starts to be really annoying ... he now stands next to the door and tries to listen if something is heared trough it... **
(5) Sparrow: Listen Skill Check: [1d20+7] -> [16,7] = (23)
whispering to Sparrow, you hear nothing
** (5) Sparrow turns to others and says "Well i hear nothing inside" **
** (1) Vadim lifts the bar from the door marked danger. "Okay, I'll hold this. You open the door, if there's anything dangerous close the door and I'll put this back. How does that sound?" **
(9) Hador: "I think it would be wisest to follow the guard that fled down the steps, rather than have him (and possibly a bunch of his allies) sneak up on us later. I say we take the fight to them - if indeed that is what it comes to - rather than keep peering back over our shoulders."
** (5) Sparrow nods "We could try that sir!" **
(5) Sparrow: "So what should we do? Try the door...or go follow that man?"
** (1) Vadim waits, poised with the door bar. **
(1) Vadim: "We don't know which way he went. And if we did find his friends, what would you say? You ten surrender to we five?"
** (5) Sparrow draws one dagger and with other hand prepares to open the door... **
(9) Hador: "I have only put forward my oppinion - If you wish to follow the path past this door - then so be it."
** (5) Sparrow looks at Vadim and says "Ready?" **
** (1) Vadim nods. **
** (5) Sparrow slovly opens the door and peers inside **
(2) DM: DANGER!: This room is dark. Light from the large room behind you spills faintly to show that the room is only about 12' across, but to your left there is only darkness. What little you can see is dingy and dirty.

30' by 15' .door east wall.

** (9) Hador makes his way over to the easternmost bed - looking back to the wetsern door as he does so **
(5) Sparrow: Spot Skill Check: [1d20+5] -> [19,5] = (24)
(5) Sparrow: ((sorry))
(5) Sparrow: Search Skill Check: [1d20+7] -> [2,7] = (9)
(8) Vincent Voss: "Well that man might know where this lad is"
(5) Sparrow: (ggrrr))
(8) Vincent Voss: "It is possible these brigands captured Ned"
** (5) Sparrow turns to Vadim and says "It is very dark inside...i see nothing!" **
(8) Vincent Voss: "I think we should follow the man too"
(5) Sparrow: "Who knows...maybe Ned is inside this room?"
(1) Vadim: "I concur with you Vincent, but I doubt they dragged a grown man all the way down those stairs when they left that dead body so brazenly in the wine cellar."
(8) Vincent Voss: "Hmnnn I didn't think about that..."
(1) Vadim: ((Are there any torches spare in this room?))
(8) Vincent Voss: *Looks in the same room as SParrow
(9) Hador: "Well - we have this door open now - so let us be on with it!"
(5) Sparrow: "Give a torch here...Or a lamp!"
(8) Vincent Voss: *Passes one of the torches the Inkeep gave him
(2) DM: (there are plenty of torches in the main cellar))
(5) Sparrow: ((let soppose you gave me the torch from the wall??))
(9) Hador: "I also have a few stashed away should we need more later on"
(8) Vincent Voss: "Alright then"
** (5) Sparrow pushes one torch extending it inside trough the slightly open door **
** (1) Vadim peers into the room with the light of the torch flooding it. **
(1) Vadim: [1d20+3] -> [7,3] = (10)
(5) Sparrow: Search Skill Check: [1d20+7] -> [19,7] = (26)
(8) Vincent Voss: *Gets into a position where he can fire arrows if need be
(2) DM: (inititive please)
(8) Vincent Voss: (D 20..?)
(1) Vadim: ((Ah crap))
whispering to Vincent Voss, yes
(9) Hador: Initiative: [1d20+5] -> [15,5] = (20)
(1) Vadim: [1d20+4] -> [7,4] = (11)
(5) Sparrow: [1d20+8] -> [13,8] = (21)
(8) Vincent Voss: [1d20+2] -> [11,2] = (13)
(2) DM: 6 animated skeltons charge towards the door
(2) DM: sparrow action
(2) DM: (the room is empty, apart from the skeltons)
(8) Vincent Voss: Sparrow Close the door !
** (5) Sparrow knocks the door close again **
(5) Sparrow: (wait)
(1) Vadim: ((Take the bar from Vadim, he's too slow))
** (5) Sparrow jumps and take the bar from Vadim Forcing it back at the holding place **
(2) DM: (vadim and vincent will have to move out of the doorway to shut the door)
(8) Vincent Voss: (I was back away from it with bow out)
(1) Vadim: ((I wasn't in the doorway, I was only peering))
(5) Sparrow: ((only me and vadim did peer inside))
(2) DM: (you have to be in the doorway to peer in)
(2) DM: Hador action
(5) Sparrow: ((wait than))
(9) Hador: ((is the door closed???))
(2) DM: (sparrow is trying to close the door, so not yet)
(5) Sparrow: ((if sparrow didnt close the door...since Vadims head was in the way? Than i still have my action Right?))
(1) Vadim: ((Keep trying to close the door, I can probably tumble out of combat last))
(2) DM: (no your action is to try to close the door)
(5) Sparrow: ((ok...you are the boss ;) ))
** (9) Hador attempts to push his way to the door, adopting a defence stance while yelling at the others to get out of the way. **
(5) Sparrow: ((hador go on))
(1) Vadim: ((Hang on, that implies I get blamed!))
(2) DM: vincent action
(8) Vincent Voss: I will switch out weapons as my bow isn't going to be too o effective

(1) Vadim (whispering): Well, so long as I'm out of the room
(5) Sparrow: Str check: [1d20+1] -> [1,1] = (2)
(2) DM: Vadim waits till the chanrging skeltons are in range and chops at one with his scythe, hitting but not destroying it. he tehn steps back out of range.
(2) DM: sparrow waits till vadim is out of the way before trying to shut the door, however as he tries to pull the door shut he colides with vincent who is standing behind him. a skelton charges to the doorway, and hacks at sparrow missing him

whispering to Vincent Voss, there are plenty of torches that would do
** (4) Vadim opens the door that does not have danger written on it. **
(1) Vincent Voss (whispering): I will place one in my pack
(3) DM: Quarters: This small room is clearly the quarters of a person senior to those who live in the 'barracks' main room, since the furnishing is less crude and the place is clean and tidy, as if cared for by a servant. There is a comfortable-looking bed in the northwest corner with a wooden locker at its foot. A small wooden table stands against the east wall, and beside it is a padded leather chair. On the table is a brass 9-branch candlestick and in it burn 3 candles, giving the room good illumination. The candles, though not fresh, are far from spent.

Under the table is a small wooden box and a bullseye lantern with a moveable shutter over the lens; the lantern is unlit. On a shelf above the table are stacked three books. In the northeast corner is a wooden cupboard with the door closed.
Room is 15' by 20'. Door in the south wall.

(4) Vadim: "I wonder if they marked the treasure room?" he says, walking casually in.
** (2) Sparrow laughs "I think ...i am starting to figure out what is happening here!" **
