(871) DM: everybody ready to go?
(870) Hador: ((ready))
(875) Vadim: ((Ready))
(875) Vadim (whispering): BTW, follow-up question, do you use any programs like Kazoo on your computer?
(875) Vadim: ((I have an idea about the code))
whispering to Vadim, no nothing like that
(870) Hador: (( :o ))
(875) Vadim (whispering): okay, thanks
(871) DM: last weeks game: The men decide to retreat, pursued by the party. Vadim and Vincent kill two, by the leader and two others get away. The party search the rest of the House , and find Ned, tied up and gagged. Everybody returns to the village. When they tell corporal Stoutly their story, he is worried about pirates storming the village. The party stand guard that night. And the following morning go back to the house and explore the cave. Where they find a cave with access to the sea, a boat, kegs of brandy, and bolts of silk.

(859) Donavan: ((Ready sorry my neighabor needed to borrow sumthin
(871) DM: The party are all in the cellar
(873) Thurik: (what time of day is it)
(859) Donavan: ((BTW really cool site for the game that you set up I emailed the address to my PnP group :) ))
(871) DM: (10 am)
whispering to Donavan, thxs :)
(875) Vadim: "Well, we know one thing," Vadim says, sitting down at the table. "The mage and this henchmen have not got back to the pirate ship, because their boat is still here."
(859) Donavan (whispering): BTW can I change my alignment twords Neutral Good after the dealings with the law I feel that my character is leaning more towards neutral than lawful. . . If it is not a problem.
(875) Vadim: "I do have a theory about the code we found," He says. Vadim takes the scrap of paper from his pocket and unfolds it onto the table, smothing down the edges.
whispering to Donavan, sure np
** (870) Hador peers over vadims shoulders **
(873) Thurik: joins vadim at the table
** (859) Donavan says "unless this is a second vessel and they have already left. . . " **
(875) Vadim: "We found a lantern in the room, a single lantern, yet everywhere else are torches. The lantern creates a single focussed beam of light, such as might be used to signal a ship from land, without eanyone on land seeing," he explains. "These crosses and dashes could represent a code of light and dark to signal the ship."
** (871) Vincent sits down at the table, and listen to what Vadim has to say **
** (859) Donavan scratches his chin and nods in agreement. **
(875) Vadim: "If we knew what each code meant we would know how to signal the pirates."
(870) Hador: "t'is a good theory."
(873) Thurik: "Arrrr good be...they are signalin the ship"
(875) Vadim: "And my guess is, that book of tide times will tell us when they are ndue to arrive again."
(875) Vadim: ((I was trying to type due not nude))
(870) Hador: (( :) )
(875) Vadim: ((aren't we missing someone?))
(871) DM: (vincent can't make it this week)
(875) Vadim: ((Isn't he the one with the tide book?))
** (871) Vincent hand over the almanac to vadim **
(875) Vadim: ((Doh!))
** (875) Vadim opens the book carefully and skims the contents trying to make sense of it. **
whispering to Vadim, make an int roll
(875) Vadim (whispering): [1d20] -> [6] = (6)
whispering to Vadim, the book looks like a lot of numbers to you, and very confusing
** (859) Donavan sudgests that we go to town to see if there are any sea bearing folx that may be able to help us decifer the code of signals. . . It could be more common code than we think. **
** (875) Vadim 's brow creases as he reads the book. Eventually he puffs with exasperation and pushes the book away. I agree with Donovan, I can't make any sense of this book, and I doubt any of us could crack the code. **
(873) Thurik: "Me thinks we should deal with them undead then head back to town"
(870) Hador: "Aye, I must agree with the dwarf on that account!"
(875) Vadim: "Very well," Vadim says with a slight head bob. "After you."
(873) Thurik: unslings his axe
** (870) Hador walks over to the door marked 'danger' , unsheating his sword in the process. **
** (870) Hador places his hand upon the restraing bar and speaks... **
(870) Hador: "are we ready?"
(888) Donavan (enter): 19:45
(873) Thurik: "Aye, ready as I'll be"
(871) DM: Booting '(859) Donavan'...
(859) Donavan (exit): 19:45
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (888) Donavan...
** (875) Vadim heafts his scythe into his hands and nods. "Let's have a go." **
** (870) Hador pulls the bar from it's holders and wrenches the door open - adopting a defensive stance as if by reflex **
(873) Thurik: "Maybe let em come out...then we can catch em one at a time...or at least slow em down"
(871) DM: This room is dark. Light from the large room behind you spills faintly to show that the room is only about 12' across, but to your left there is only darkness. What little you can see is dingy and dirty.
(871) DM: 5 skeletons charge towards you (inititive pls)
(888) Donavan: ((WTF OpenRPG crashed :( ))

(912) Hador: ((yep - there you are))
(914) DM: (yes we see you)
(917) Vadim: ((I was lying, I can't see him))
(919) Donavan: ((WooHoo!!!! I still cant see any of the lower left names though so I cant whisper :( ))
(915) Thurik: (peek-a-boo)
(915) Thurik: (i think there is a chat command for whisper...but dont know it)
**Incorrect syntax for whisper.-1
(919) Donavan: ((Sorry about all the problems))
(917) Vadim: ((it's w/ 914= or whatever the number is))
(912) Hador: ((it is '/w' then the number of the guy you want to speak to))
**Incorrect syntax for whisper.-1
(912) Hador: ((yep - what he said :D ))
(917) Vadim: ((Yes, /w, that's right))
** (919) Donavan scratches his head and then comes out of a dreamlike gaze and seems to be more in tune with the party now, **
(914) DM: (ok back to the game. the party now posseses an nearly empty room with bones in it)
** (917) Vadim conducts a search of the north side of the room searching for a secret door. **
(915) Thurik: also searches the room
(917) Vadim: [1d20+3] -> [20,3] = (23)
(914) DM: (anybody helping vadim?)
** (919) Donavan is helping **
(919) Donavan: Search Skill Check: [1d20+1] -> [20,1] = (21)
(915) Thurik: (search skill check)
(914) DM: With the aid of the other members of the party Vadim discovers a switch of somesort hidden on the north wall
(915) Thurik: [1d20+1] -> [4,1] = (5)
** (912) Hador quietly mumbles some curse regarding the 'foul creatures' as he regards the jumble of bones **
(917) Vadim: "Woo hoo!" Vadim says. "I knew it! Treasure ho!"
(919) Donavan (whispering): What room are we in?
** (917) Vadim flicks the switch. **
whispering to Donavan, 23
(915) Thurik: "Aye what have you found there"
** (912) Hador looks up to see what the commotion is about **
** (919) Donavan shakes his head worring that we should have searched for traps first. **
** (917) Vadim stands back, waiting to see what the switch does. **
(914) DM: a door springs open, at the top of the eastern wall
(915) Thurik: (yeah this could end up like the AC/DC song :) )
(917) Vadim: "Taa-daa!"
** (912) Hador regards the door with renewed interest **
(915) Thurik: peers into the open doorway
(914) DM: there is no light in this new room
(917) Vadim: "Torch anyone?"
(912) Hador: "now where do you think that leads to" he says stepping forward - aproaching the door
** (919) Donavan looks over thurik's shoulder easil being that Thurik is sooo short. **
whispering to Thurik, your darkvison tells you the roon is about 12 by 30, and unoccupied
(917) Vadim: "It's the way to the alchemist's treasure, obviously"
(915) Thurik: (hey was that a short joke :) )
(919) Donavan: ((yup ;p ))
** (914) Vincent hands vadim a lighted torch **
** (917) Vadim takes the torch and strides into the room. **
(914) DM: Secret Room: The secret door opens towards you to reveal, piled on the floor of this room, a clutter of old and broken glass and earthenware. There are three small copper pots amidst the debris and these appear to be intact.

There is nothing of value in this debris piled by the north wall of the laboratory. As the party gets a view of the rest of the room...

A bench runs down the west wall of what was obviously a laboratory. On the bench are various jars of powders and liquids and several pieces of chemical apparatus, some stained in different colours as the liquids they contained dried up long ago.

There is a table against the south wall, forming an i-shape with the bench. In the chair before the table sits a human figure with its back to you, apparently studying a book that is open on the table. The figure wears a robe, embroidered with a variety of mystic symbols, and a pointed hat. On the table is a candlestick, a tiny stump of unlit candle remaining in it, and a variety of other items which, even in the dim light, shine with the warmth of pure gold. One of these objects looks like a human skull.

(919) Donavan: "Perhaps one of us should search for traps before we go to far in. . "
(917) Vadim: "Gold..." Vadim says, his voice only just more than a hush.
(919) Donavan: "Wait Vadim" (whispering)
(917) Vadim: Seemingly against his will he walks down the room towards the gold.
(915) Thurik: readies his axe
(919) Donavan: ((Can I cast bless at this point?))
(914) DM: (sure cast away)
(919) Donavan: Donavan Perow casts Bless ( level 1, "Allies gain +1 attack and +1 on saves against fear" )
(914) DM: nothing seems to happen as vadim walks into the room
(915) Thurik: moves into the room behind vadim
** (917) Vadim reaches the table and gets a closer look at the gold, taking a passing glance at the figure in the chiar, who he is certain is quite dead. **
(914) DM: you all get an impression, noone has been here in a num,ber of years
(919) Donavan: ((Can I have the robe??))
whispering to Vadim, very dead, years.
(915) Thurik: (yeah, but you have to wear the hat too)
** (912) Hador steps in behind vadim, wedging the door open with a dagger just in case it swings closed **
** (919) Donavan walks up to the corpse and examines the robe **
(917) Vadim: "He's dead as doornail," Vadim says, only barely interested.
(919) Donavan: "Quite nice crafts man ship.
(914) DM: the robe falls to pieces as donavan picks it up
(917) Vadim (whispering): What's the gold stuff?
(919) Donavan: (DOH!)
(919) Donavan: "Well it was nice. . ."
(914) DM: on the bench a number of gold objects can be seen, a human skull, a rose,an apple and 5 discs
(915) Thurik: examines the disks
** (919) Donavan examins the disks more closely **
whispering to Donavan, you notice the skeleton has a pouch and something inits hand
(919) Donavan: ((LOL we both spelled Discs disks !))
(917) Vadim (whispering): I search the body for jewellery
(914) DM: all the objects appear to be solid gold
** (919) Donavan peers away from the discs and looks into the corpses hands. . . **
(919) Donavan: ((And pouch))
whispering to Vadim, no jewels, but its holding something, and has a pouch
(912) Hador: "mayhaps this alchemist posessed the secret of turning mundane items into gold!"
(917) Vadim: "The alchemist and his few remaining items of gold."
(919) Donavan: "Or the Midas touch. . . but that was an old wives tale. . ."
(917) Vadim: "Well, we can split this later," Vadim says, stowing the gold into a backpack hurriedly.
(917) Vadim: "What's he holding?"
(912) Hador: "Is that book of any impor?"
(919) Donavan: ((dident get a response on that yet))
whispering to Donavan, stone of some sort
(912) Hador: **importance
(919) Donavan: "some sort of stone. . ." I try to dislodge it from his bony fingers.
(914) DM: (anybody speak Draconic?)
(917) Vadim: "The philosopher's stone?"
(917) Vadim: ((Damn, I always meant to ask you to give me that))
(914) DM: the stone comes loose. a smooth, ovoid pebble about 4 ounces in weight and having a lustrous pale gold colour. It emits a faint glow
(919) Donavan: ((If you give me 15 min I can speak it))
(912) Hador: (no draconic here))
(917) Vadim: ((I'd be happy to wait))
(917) Vadim: ((What about the pouch))
(914) DM: (thurik will recognise the alphabet, but not the words written in the book)
(919) Donavan: ((Seriously I can take a open spell slot and spend 15 min converting it to any spell of that level. . . Comprehend language being one of those spells))
(914) DM: 47gp in the pouch
** (919) Donavan snatches up the pouch "for the church" **
(912) Hador: ((seems a good idea to me din))
(912) Hador: ((don , not din))
(915) Thurik: (what is the alphabet?)
(919) Donavan: ((I have to get approval from the DM for that first.))
(917) Vadim: "What church?"
(912) Hador: ((damn my acursed fingers/keyboard))
(919) Donavan: "The church of Illmater!"
(914) DM: (draconic & dwarven, have same alphabet)
(915) Thurik: (got ya)
(919) Donavan: ((So Dm how about it?))
(914) DM: (sure, anything you want to do while waiting?)
(917) Vadim: "Well there's no need to act like a thief Donavan," Vadim says with indignation. "I'm sure if all the finds we had awere made available for distribution, the group would be only too happy to give to your god."
(914) DM: (LOL)
** (919) Donavan shoots a glaring look at Vadim and hand him the pouch. **
(919) Donavan: ((What needs decyphering?))
(917) Vadim: ((I want to look under the alchemist's hat and then search the rest of the room, drawres and suchlike))
** (912) Hador guards to door **
(914) DM: (just the book)
(919) Donavan: ((OK))
(917) Vadim (whispering): LOL -- gotta love the thief for trying :) And he gave me the puch!
(914) DM: (who's going to search the room?)
(915) Thurik: (i'll also search the room)
whispering to Vadim, nothing under the hat
** (919) Donavan takes the book and opens it up "Give me some time I must commune with my god. Then we will know what it says" He looks at the skeleton says prayer under his breath and moves it off the seat. He sits and begins to pray and medidtat over the book for 15 min. . . . **
(912) Hador: ((i'll keep watch))
(919) Donavan: ((*medidtate))
(914) DM: vincent helps thurik search the room, and they discover a secret draw in the table
(917) Vadim: "Doesn't keep anything under his hat," Vadim says with a sigh.
whispering to Thurik, have you any spellcraft or knowledge magic ranks?
(915) Thurik: "Vadim, you should look at this"
(919) Donavan: /emote pray/meditate
(915) Thurik (whispering): no
** (917) Vadim perks up a bit **
(917) Vadim: "Let's have a look."
whispering to Thurik, int roll then pls
** (917) Vadim searches for traps. **
(915) Thurik: steps back and lets vadim in
whispering to Vadim, nothing
(919) Donavan: ((LMK when I can decypher the book :D ))
(917) Vadim: [1d20+3] -> [13,3] = (16)
(915) Thurik: [1d20+0] -> [12,0] = (12)
(917) Vadim: "Seems fine," He says. "Please, do the honours."
** (917) Vadim steps back again. **
whispering to Donavan, make a spellcraft roll
(933) Hador (enter): 21:06
(917) Vadim: ((Is it locked?))
(914) DM: (no lock)
(919) Donavan: [1d20] -> [10] = (10)
(914) DM: Booting '(912) Hador'...
(912) Hador (exit): 21:07
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (933) Hador...
(915) Thurik: moves forward, and tries to open the drawer
(914) DM: the draw opens to reveal a book, somewhat worn and tatty
(917) Vadim: "A secret drawer in a secret room. This chap was really paranoid. I bet his name was Ash."
whispering to Donavan, you think the book is a bit complicated for you, but is about alchemy, transumatation and chemical stuff
(915) Thurik: "Hmmm looks like a book...me bets its his spell book"
(919) Donavan (whispering): What was that for?? What ability affects spellcraft I dont have a node for it)
(917) Vadim: "Fascinating... not made of gold is it?"
(919) Donavan (whispering): Hmm as i skim through it do I see any handwritten notes that give away clues?
whispering to Donavan, actually you don't have any ranks in spellcraft, so it doen't matter :)
(919) Donavan (whispering): LOL
whispering to Donavan, its all handwritten
(915) Thurik: looks closer at the book cover (anything written on the cover)
(919) Donavan (whispering): OK then what about side notes? Anything on makeing gold?
** (919) Donavan almost has the book finished being read **
(914) DM: property of Mage Tenser
(915) Thurik: (what!)
whispering to Donavan, possibile, but its extreamly technical
(914) DM: (on the book cover, hand written. property of mage Tenser)
(917) Vadim: "Well Thurik, oh brave and bold dwarf," he says, taking several steps back. "If I were you," he adds, ducking down behind the end of the bench. "I would open it," he finishes, dissappearing from view.
(919) Donavan: "Bahh!" Slams the book shut. "Mostly technichal jargin that most likely none of us would understand. I should have the preists of Denier look at this book at the Edifacant Library."
** (919) Donavan takes the book and puts it in his pack. **
(915) Thurik: "Well priest, here is another book for you to examine"
** (919) Donavan takes the book "Is it in the same language?" **
(914) DM: (the other book is in comman, however it makes no sense)
** (919) Donavan looks it over (should I roll for my knowledge skills?) **
(914) DM: (who has the glowing pebble, from the skeletons hand?)
(919) Donavan: (Me))
whispering to Donavan, knowledge arcane
(919) Donavan: Knowledge: Arcana Skill Check: [1d20+4] -> [3,4] = (7)
(919) Donavan: (DOH)
whispering to Donavan, no hel[
** (917) Vadim peeks over the edge of the bench. "Ah, so the spellbook isn't trapped then." He stands up. "Yes, I thought it would be safe. I just felt like a sit down." **
(917) Vadim: ((I have the alchemy skill, I don't suppose that would be any good would it?))
(919) Donavan: "Well I can make no sence of this book" Closes it " I could have the preists look this one over as well if you wish Thurik?"
(914) DM: (if donavna told you what was in the first book , you could roll)
(919) Donavan: ((For repeatings sake about the book)) "Bahh!" Slams the book shut. "Mostly technichal jargin that most likely none of us would understand. I should have the preists of Denier look at this book at the Edifacant Library."
(915) Thurik: "Sounds like our best best, though a mage would probably be a better choice"
(915) Thurik: (oops second best=bet)
(917) Vadim: "Donavan... I have some knowledge of alchemy. If you translate the book I might be able to make some snese of it."
(919) Donavan: "Perhaps you know of a mage that can look it over. Here" Hands the book back to Thurik. "Make sure that it is in good, and safe hands"
** (919) Donavan scratches his chin, smiles and pulls the book back out of his pack. "Here leet me read some of it too you" **
(919) Donavan: ((leet = let))
(917) Vadim: [1d20+3] -> [10,3] = (13)
** (919) Donavan begins to read the book to Vadim. **
(915) Thurik: grabs the spellbook and stashes it into his pack
whispering to Vadim, well its definatly a book about alchemy, and very technical. you need a room full of euipment to do soem of the stuff it talks about. and you don't know enough to say wether its accurate
(917) Vadim: "This is definitely the alchemist's book. I would need equipment to make it work, a whole laboratory full," he says. "...Even then, I don't know if it would work."
whispering to Vadim, and there's a chapter about making magic items
(915) Thurik: moves to the doorway
(919) Donavan: "what does it all mean then Vadim?"
(917) Vadim: "There is a chapter here about making magic items," he says.
** (919) Donavan 's eyes light up **
(915) Thurik (whispering): (is hador still standing guard at the door)
whispering to Thurik, yes
(917) Vadim: "I think we should return to tehe village," he says. "We achieved here in a day what many have failed to do in countless previous years. And we have to find someone to translate the other code."
(915) Thurik: joins hador at the door
(933) Hador: "we done then?" hador asks looking into the room
** (933) Hador makes his way back into the cellar proper **
** (917) Vadim follows Hador out. **
(933) Hador: ((back to the village then??))
(917) Vadim: ((think so))
** (919) Donavan gathers the book and makes one last look around for anything left behind. **
(915) Thurik: (or do you want to give the caves another look for secret doors, ect)
(915) Thurik: (before we head back)
(933) Hador: ((your call - I don't see why not))
(933) Hador: ((we didn't do it already did we??))
(915) Thurik: (if we work together and put some time into it...we can be sure there is nothing down there)
** (919) Donavan heads to the door, while rubbing the small shining rock with his thumb while it is in his palm **
(915) Thurik: (it was just a haste check...backed up by a low roll by me)
(933) Hador: "So what next? Seeing as how we discovered a few secrets hidden away in this foul place - do you want to have one more look around?"
(919) Donavan: " We still have not completly examined the upstairs. . . "
(915) Thurik: "Aye, i think it would be wise"
(914) DM: ( between you , you have examined all of the house)
(914) DM: a search of the caves reveals no secret doors or compartments
(919) Donavan: ((Well were left with only a few options now ;) ))
(914) DM: (its about midday now)
(915) Thurik: (i believe the code is some type of signal)
(915) Thurik: (I also think we should be back by nightfall...in case the come back)
(915) Thurik: (damn fingers...the=they
(919) Donavan: ((I am stumped for clues so I say we ask some sailors around town))
(933) Hador: ((so back to town - ask questions - back by nightfall - that the plan?))
(917) Vadim: ((Yes))
(915) Thurik: (sounds good to me)
(919) Donavan: ((Yup))
(933) Hador: ((cool))
(914) DM: nothing happens on your way back into the village, apart from getting slightyl wet from the rain. And a seagull craping on donavan
(915) Thurik: (don must have animal empathy :) )
(914) DM: When you enter the old seadog Inn. The corporal isn't about. But the priest of Selune, who healed you last night is
(914) Mark Seacliff: "I don't believe we have been intoduced. I am Mark Seacliff, priest of Selune"
(919) Donavan: ((WHY ME!!!!!! ILLMATER!!!!!))
(914) Mark Seacliff: "The corporal is out at sea fishing with the rest of the townsfolk. Please tell me of your investigations"
** (919) Donavan extends his hand "Well met good Preist. I am Donavan Painbearer of Illmater. **
** (933) Hador offers an oustreached hand to the priest "Hdor Morgen" **
** (914) Mark Seacliff shakes the hand of each of the party **
(917) Vadim: "Nice to meet you," Vadim says. "I don't suppose you know anything about tides or sailors light singnals, do you? I'm Vadim, by the way."
(914) Mark Seacliff: "Well a priest of the moon, should know abit about tides, Vadim. But whats this about signals?"
(914) Mark Seacliff: "But where are my manners. Please sit down , and eat while we talk"
** (919) Donavan nods and sits graceously. **
** (914) Mark Seacliff calls over to sam the barkeep and asks for some fish stew for the party **
(919) Donavan: ((My spelling sucks))
** (933) Hador pulls up a stool, acepting the priest's hospitality **
(917) Vadim: "This," Vadim says, handing him the piece of paper. "If each of these marks signified light and dark, such as a covered and uncovered lantern beam, what would this mean?"
(915) Thurik: seats himself at the table and pulls out his tankard...then orders a fill of ale
(914) Mark Seacliff: "well one of the signs is all the same, how could that be a light dark signal?"
(914) Mark Seacliff: "Morely likely, short and long , light"
** (919) Donavan nods **
(917) Vadim: "That's the kind of lateral thinking we need," he says. "Any idea what it would mean?"
(915) Thurik: wiping the ale foam from his face, "Aye I believe he is right"
(914) Mark Seacliff: "Did you find out if they were smugglers or pirates, or something else?"
(933) Hador: "my thoughs would be that the first is a calling signal - perhaps a short ray of light followed by three long ones... the second one an answering signal of a long, then short, then long, then short blasts. Finally the conformation signal would be three short rays."
(914) Mark Seacliff: "Thats sounds good Hador"
(933) Hador: ((oh we already established long/short - hehe - gotta learn to type faster))
** (919) Donavan says "It makes no difference if it is Pirates or smugglers. They must be stopped." **
(917) Vadim: "Could be pirates, could be smugglers," he says. "We found enough goods to justify smuggling -- oh yes, and I found the alchemist's treasure. Which was nice."
** (919) Donavan shakes his head with amazement that Vadim would state that in a public area. **
(933) Hador: "not to mention the fact that one of our group was killed... that adds murder to their crimes!"
(914) Mark Seacliff: "Well the corporal was worried, that if it was pirates. We could be in trouble. A pirate manowar can hold anything up to 400 crew. They could easily run amok in this village. While smugglers, are more likely to be secretive. and less trouble"
(914) Mark Seacliff: "Well Vadim anything you have found , would be yours to keep."
(917) Vadim: "Well if we know when the boat comes back we would be better prepared," he replies.
(914) Mark Seacliff: "You expect a boat to come back then?"
(917) Vadim: "They don't know not to," Vadim replies. "That row boat in the cave came from a larger ship. Pirates or smugglers, there's a bigger boat out there somewhere."
** (919) Donavan quietly states "Perhaps. . " **
(914) Mark Seacliff: "And when it returns, what do you intend?"
(917) Vadim: "To be as far from here as... I mean, well, perhaps... to sink it."
** (919) Donavan glares at Vadim **
(914) Mark Seacliff: "Wll if there has been a ship coming and going. It must be at night, or the villages would of seen it. I will get the corporal to patrol the waters at night for the next few nights, to give us some warning of the ships approach. When do you think it will return?"
(915) Thurik: "Could me be anytime...even tonight"
** (919) Donavan states that it is unknown to us **
(914) DM: (test)
(919) Donavan: (testt)
(919) Donavan: ((Working I think))
(917) Vadim: ((Test?))
(914) DM: (i see a lot of people typing but no tex)
(915) Thurik: (i think you're right...we won't know until it starts)
(933) Hador: ((not to be left out..........test))
(919) Donavan: ((cue the crickets))
(933) Hador (whispering): ((can you see this whisper???))
(917) Vadim: ((Where was the row boat in relation to the tide marker in the cave?"
(914) DM: (15 behond it)
whispering to Hador, yes
(919) Donavan: ((I just really have no Idea the answeres to the questions that are being asked. . . )
(917) Vadim: ((Chances are the boat was dragged up from where the tide was when they came in, to stop it floating away. So they must have come in at low tide))
(917) Vadim: ((If they came in at high tide it would be further up))
(919) Donavan: ((That means nothign to me))
(914) DM: (FYI, you are on the sword coast. it is called the sword coast, because of the sharp rocks on the coast. making it difficult, if not impossible to land on the coast)
(917) Vadim: "I think they will come at low tide, when the moon is dark," Vadim replies.
(933) Hador: "seems logical"
(914) Mark Seacliff: "The next dark of selune , starts in 2 days"
(917) Vadim: ((I didn't know that :) ))
(915) Thurik: (i didn't know that either)
(919) Donavan: ((I knew that about the sword coast, but Have no reason to tie that in. . . ))
(914) DM: (hence the monoply of sea traffic at waterdeep, daggerford and the gate)
(919) Donavan: ((water travel is not my cup 'o tea :) ))
(914) DM: (ok, so whats the plan of action?)
(933) Hador: "Well mark, I will offer my sword once more for the good of your village, if you ask of it."
(933) Hador: "What say the rest of you???"
(914) Mark Seacliff: "The whole village is grateful to have such defenders, sir Hador"
** (919) Donavan wonders if we should wait the 2 days out in the old mansion. **
(915) Thurik: "Aye, I'll see this mystery to an end"
(933) Hador: "Your faith is both strong and just good cleric, and your axe is sure and your arm strong master dwarf, I would be homoured to work with you agian"
(917) Vadim: ((Right, we need to 1. practice sending signals with the lantern so we don't screw up, 2. remove the uniforms from the dead men in the cellar, 3. use the silk to make an outfit like the wizard had, 4. load the brandy into the boat.))
(915) Thurik: (I also think we should spend the next few evenings in the cave complex/old house)
(919) Donavan: ((Vadim = Smart))
(933) Hador: "and Vadim, your skills compliment our own... what say you?"
(917) Vadim: ((It will be dark, so if we have to, we can get onto the boat easy))
(915) Thurik: (what kind of uniforms do the dead men wear?)
(933) Hador: ((bloody))
(917) Vadim: ((And then load the brandy, and then, if we have to, set the ship on fire :) ))
(914) DM: ( leather armour, looked very sailor like, bare feet shortt sleeves etc)
(917) Vadim: ((It's a risky plan, but I think it could work :) ))
(919) Donavan: (( Im just going to go with the crowd on this one))
(915) Thurik: (but not identical?)
(914) DM: (no not identical. the mage didn't wear armour, but robes and a turban)
(917) Vadim: ((That's in case it's a pirate ship with 400 men that we can't possibly kill, if it's just 20 or so smugglers I reckon we could handle it))
(914) DM: (the priest will ask if you want the corporal to go with you to help control the boat)
(919) Donavan: ((I dont trust that Corpral))
(917) Vadim: ((Me neither, but do any of us know how the boat works?))
(915) Thurik: (anyone have any kind fo seamanship skills?)
(933) Hador: ((but sailors we aint))
(914) DM: (if its a big boat with a skull and crossbones, its full of pirates. if its a little ship id smugglers)
(915) Thurik: (i sink like a rock...does that help)
(917) Vadim: ((If we can't pilot it we could get snagged on a rock, scuppering us and our plan))
(915) Thurik: (if the corporal is involved in a plot...this would be the perfect way to expose him)
(914) DM: (we saltmarsh militia consists of two men, corporal stoulty, and his brother private stoutly. Take your pick )
(917) Vadim: ((Or we could just kill him and dump the body. Blame the smugglers.))
(919) Donavan: ((I take the preist))
(914) DM: (you take the priest where? into your confidence, out to dinner, where?)
(917) Vadim: ((Right, well, we're agreed at least that we should take food and water and spend the next few days in the house, in the celllar like the pirates did. We hide the bodies in the alchemist's room and go on as if we were the pirates.))
(919) Donavan: ((LOL as opposed to the stoutly brothers))
(933) Hador: ((agreed))
(914) DM: (ok, next week we start with staking out the house, till a ship appears)
