Chapter 5

Javelins, shields and dancing in the dark

Vadim recovers the treasure from the hidden room. And while the party debates what to do , Vadim kills the captured lizardman, and vincent goes back to the enterance to scout. Vincent is ambushed in the dark, and retreats back to the party. Phae casts light on a sling bullet and throws it into the muddy cave. The party then charge into the cave. The party then defeats the eleven lizardmen in a hard battle,where the party struggle to hit the lizardmen armed with shields. The battle ends with the surviving lizardmen sent retreating out through the cave exit. The party unsure which way to go, decide to avoid the retreating lizardmen, and explore the complex further. They find what looks like a barracks, and further ahead they can see the corrifors are lit by torches.

The story unfolds

The party have a couple more hours before their boat leaves so they decide to scout around the lizardmens lair. Soon they come accross a det of double doors witha giant lizards head engraved on it. Looking inside they discover a temple and a old lizardman priest. After a long a fustrating argument with the priest. Hador and Vadim manage to reasure the priest about their good intentions. This involves returning the money they had looted, plus swearing to help the lizardmen. The lizardmen are at war with invading Sahuagin(sea devils) who have invaded the saltmarshes and thrown the Lizardmen out of the ancestal home. The lizardmen have been buying weapons so that they can fight the sea devils, together with the locathah, mermen and koalinth. The party have pledged to scout out the Sahuagins fortress, so that the lizardmens allience will have upto date information for the upcoming attack.

Bogs

The day after the parties return to Saltmarsh, three lizardmen(Fang, kuz and Kar) turn up to guide the party to the Sahuagin Fortress. After a debate the party decide tp travel via the saltmarshes, and set off straight away. After their first day, it soon became clear that the party would be lost or dead without their lizardmen guides. Who point out when the aprty are going in the wrong direction, and stop them falling into deep bogs. The party fight off the denizens of the marsh, crocodiles, 100' long lizards and snakes. During the seventh day, Fang finds tracks of a large party of Goblins. The party follow the tracks and soon come accross a Goblin encampment, and prepare to attack.
