Teaches American History at Horry Georgetown Technical College as an adjunct instructor and has taught Western Civilization and American History at Southeastern Community College.  Member of the North Myrtle Beach Mayor's Advisory Board. Served as a Congressional Staff Assistant and Field Representative to U.S. Rep. Henry E. Brown, Jr., 1st Congressional District, South Carolina.  Member: Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10804, North Myrtle Beach Citizens Association.  Charter member of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce.  A US Army veteran who served in the Persian Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm with the 3d Armored Division Headquarters.  Military awards include the Army Commendation Medal, the Persian Gulf Service Ribbon, the Army Achievement Medal, the Journalist of the Year Award for U.S. Army Europe for two consecutive years and the Runner-up Journalist Award for the U.S. Army in 1990.  Competed in the 1990 U.S. Army Europe Track and Field Championships.  B.A. History, University of South Carolina, Coastal Carolina, which she attended on a Cross Country and Track scholarship. Masters degree, University of South Carolina, Columbia.

In Horry County, District 28 encompasses the north and northeast part of the county including Aynor, Loris, North Myrtle Beach and Little River.
