4 cups leftover bread
2 1/4 cups water
2 Tbl chopped raisins or prunes
6 slices of lemon (optional)
1 Tbl orange marmalade
2-3 Tbl sugar



Bread Soup

4 cups leftover bread
2 1/4 cups water
2 table spoons chopped raisins or prunes
6 slices of lemon (optional)
1 table spoon orange marmalade
2-3 table spoons sugar

Soak the bread in water overnigth or until the crusts are soft. Puree then cook over low heat for 1 hour. Add raisins, marmalade, lemon slices, and sugar and cook for 10 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream.

-Substitute marmalade with orange or lemon zest
-substitute marmalade with a cinnamon stick
