Shortcut
Keys
1.Start the program, Ctl-Alt-Z.
2.To deactivate (zoom out), Alt-Del.
3.To reactivate (zoom in), Alt-Ins.
4.To bring up ZoomText window
(user interface) repeat Alt-Insert.
5. To minimize ZoomText
window (user interface) press escape key or Alt-Space Bar followed by N.
6.To increase magnification, Alt-+(plus key on numeric
keypad).
7. To reduce magnification, Alt- --(minus sign on numeric keypad.
8.To move field of vision to another part of the screen,(without
the mouse):
Top Edge, Alt-Page Up
Bottom Edge, Alt-Page Down
Left Edge, Alt-Home
Right Edge, Alt-End
Center Screen, Alt-5 (5 on the numeric
pad-with numlock off)
9.To pan (move field of vision) in a direction. In each case tap arrow to determine direction and speed. Panning
stops when the Alt key is released.
Up, Alt-Up Arrow
Down, Alt-Down Arrow
Left, Alt-Left Arrow
Right, Alt-Right Arrow
10 To use some special features with
hotkeys:
DocReader, Control-Shift-R; to exit, Esc.
Color Filter, Control-Shift-F; to reverse, repeat.
Turn off speech, Alt-Shift-S; to reverse,
repeat.
Secondaries:
Secondaries are special purpose zoom windows. Each of
these zoom windows is designed for particular task.
There are five choices line, component, second overlay, static 1 and 2. The windows may be enabled
by opening the windows menu and selecting secondaries.
The magnification of these windows can be adjusted by opening the options menu
and selecting the zoom window of interest and setting the the
magnification desired.
Definition of Functions:
Line: Magnifies one line at set magnification.
Component: Magnifies items such as File Edit etc. on menu bar.
Second Overlay: A second zoom window is created. The
size, magnification and position may be adjusted.
Static 1 and 2: Magnifies a set location in the
window. They may also be set for size, location, and magnification.
Hot Keys: Control shift Z is toggle. Enables or disables secondaries.
Control shift W enables size and position adjustments.
Note: Clicking and dragging the question mark window to any icon in the Zoomtext window provides information regarding the function
enabled by that icon.
The "Speak it Tool"
Press Alt-Shift-I to invoke the Speak it Tool. Clicking the right mouse button
turns it off.
Point to a word, click the left mouse button and it will be spoken.
Point and drag with the left mouse button pressed and the resulting highlighted
area will be spoken.
This may be handy where a word or line is typed with a
smaller font.
