Using the Internet with Wineyes 4.0 & IE5.x
You can use the following keys while in
MSAA application mode (note - Msaa is toggled with
control-shift-a) in Internet Explorer. The cursor movement
keys refer to the non-numpad keys accept where numpad is noted.
Left arrow - Moves left by
one character and reads the character under the pointer.
Right arrow - Moves right by one character and reads the character under the
pointer.
Ctrl-Left arrow - Moves left by one word and reads the word under the pointer.
Ctrl-Right arrow - Moves right by one word and reads the word under the
pointer.
Up arrow - Moves up by one line and reads the line under the pointer.
Down arrow - Moves down by one line and reads the line under the pointer.
Home - Moves to the beginning of the line and reads the character under the
pointer.
End - Moves to the end of the line and reads the character under the pointer.
Ctrl-Home - Moves to the beginning of the document and reads the line under the
pointer.
Ctrl-End - Moves to the end of the document and reads the line under the
pointer.
Page up - Reads the previous twenty four lines in the
document and moves the pointer back twenty four lines
. Page down - Reads the next twenty four lines in the
document and moves the pointer down twenty four lines.
TAB - Moves the pointer to the next link or control on the web page and reads
it.
Shift-TAB - Moves the pointer to the previous link or control on the web page
and reads it.
ALT-Down arrow - Every line of the web page can be broken down into one of
three lines. It can be either a link, or a control, or simply text. When you
issue this key stroke the pointer will move to the
next line in the web page that is different than what the pointer was on when
this command was issued and read that line. For example, if you are sitting on
a link, pressing this key will move you to the next line in the web page that
is not a link.
ALT-Up arrow - Moves the pointer to the previous line in the web page that is
different than the line the pointer is currently on
and reads it. See ALT-Down arrow for more information.
Ctrl-ALT-Down arrow - Moves the pointer to the next line in the web page that
is a control (skipping all links and text lines) and reads the line.
Ctrl-ALT-Up arrow - Moves the pointer to the previous line in the web page that
is a control (skipping all links and text lines) and reads the line.
Shift-ALT-Down arrow - Moves the pointer to the next line in the web page that
is a link (skipping all controls and text lines) and reads the line.
Shift-ALT-Up arrow - Moves the pointer to the previous line in the web page
that is a link (skipping all controls and text lines) and reads the line.
Insert-ALT-Down arrow - Moves the pointer to the next line in the web page that
is text only (skipping all links and controls) and reads the line.
Insert-ALT-Up arrow - Moves the pointer to the previous line in the web page
that is text only (skipping all links and controls) and reads the line.
Ctrl-ALT-Shift-Down arrow - Moves the pointer to the next line in the web page
that is a visited link (skipping all controls, text lines, and non-visited
links) and reads the line.
Ctrl-ALT-Shift-Up arrow - Moves the pointer to the previous line in the web
page that is a visited link (skipping all controls, text lines, and non-visited
links) and reads the line.
Insert-Tab - Displays the Available Links dialog. This dialog contains a list
box displaying all available links for the current web page. You can move
through the list box by arrowing up and down, press
the first letter of the option you want until you get there or start spelling
out the specific link you want until you find it. By default
the links in the list box are displayed in the order they are displayed in the
web page. If you wish you can use the radio button in
the dialog to sort the links alphabetically instead. After selecting
the link you want you can either activate the link or simply move the pointer
to the link without activating it. The default button causes the link to be activated. If you push the Focus Link button instead, the
pointer will simply move to the link without activating it. This is a great way
to get some context around the link. There are accelerators for each of the
options in the list box as well. Alt-L sorts the links in alphabetic order.
Alt-W sorts the links in web page order. Alt-A will activate the link currently
highlighted and remove the dialog. Alt-F will move the pointer to the link in
the web page without activating the link and remove the dialog.
Ctrl-ALT-Home - If you are on a page that you have previously visited, this
keystroke will move your pointer to the line you were on when you last left
this page and read the line. If you are on a page
which you have not previously visited or the page has changed since you last
left it Window-Eyes will say "no previous position" and will not
adjust your pointer position.
