Logfile from Malakai

Eclipse puts on his dragon medallion.

(remotely) Typheous bought it...

You say, "When last we left Hell's Errand Children, they were following the directions given to them by a pooka in an effort to get back to civilization in a desperate attempt to rescue Plax. Rade was whimpering about her lost Phylactery. Typheous and Psyche were being civil. Yes, these strange things and more prove that the cabal of mages are, indeed, outside their bubble of Order."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "I'm normal!"

You say, "Night has long since fallen and midnight is drawing near when we find our heroes half an hour away from an unstable Node, gathered around a campfire they can't feel through their heat shields."

[OOC] Psyche says, "If you're normal, I'm a three-eyed Tanak."

[OOC] You say, "The order that proves the chaos..."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "It was a cold shield. Didn't we have this discussion?"

[OOC] Typheous says, "And Psyche took first watch..."

[OOC] You say, "Ah yes. We did..."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Well, consistent if not normal."

[OOC] Rade giggles.

Tsharing sits and eats her provisions.

Typheous is curled up sleeping against a tree.

Rade sobs, sleeps very little, stares at fire mostly.

You say, "Night passed reasonably quietly, once the tortured screams of a hapless owl who got too close to a faerie ring died down. Dawn arrives on a clear, piercingly cold winter morning. The mountain looms before you, daring you to cross its craggy helm."

Psyche keeps an eye on Rade, wakes Typheous for a second watch with something approaching her usual discourteously, and awakens herself with the dawn.

[OOC] Psyche says, "Discourteousy."

[OOC] Psyche says, "Discourtesy, even."

Typheous is awake come dawn and makes certain that the others are awake as well as he begins to strike his part of "camp"

Tsharing says, "Good morning."

Psyche glances at Tsharing. "I suppose," she says by way of answer, packing up her own things.

Tsharing says, "I meant the weather."

Typheous yawns, his music a good bit more chipper than he is. "Yes... Breakfast and then continue on?"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "If Saruman drops an avalanche on us as we cross, I won't be happy."

[OOC] Eclipse whistles.

Psyche glances up at the mountain. "So far, it is. But weather changes quickly in the mountains." She adds a few sticks to the fire. "Rade, how are you feeling?"

[OOC] You say, "In the book, it wasn't Sarumen who dropped the avalanche..."

Rade stays huddled up, arms wrapped around her waist, sighing forlornly.

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Well, I first read them when I was about 9, so forgive my spotty memory."

[OOC] Typheous was pretty sure there was a "fell voice" and that it was Sarumen....

[OOC] Typheous says, "But the mountain didn't want to let them cross, either."

Tsharing heads off when everyone's ready.

Typheous crouches next to Rade, a bit of rations in his hand offered to her. His music is a bit too happy. "Eat something? It might make you feel better."

You say, "The way is much steeper today."

[OOC] You say, "Everyone give me a Int + Survival check, dif 6."

[Roll]: Rade rolled int (0) and Survival (2) (2d10): 1, 10 No diff given.

[OOC] Rade blinks

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Intelligence (4) and Survival (0) (4d10): 4, 1, 6, 9 ** 1 success (diff 6) **

[Roll]: Rade rolled Intelligence (3) (3d10): 4, 3, 4 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Rade says, "wow, 0"

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Intelligence (2) and Survival (2) (4d10): 2, 1, 6, 3 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Intelligence (2) and Survival (2) (4d10): 9, 4, 7, 6 ** 3 successes (diff 6) **

Psyche moves away from Rade when Typheous approaches her, stiffening silently.

Rade shakes her head gently at Typheous, voice soft. "I'm not hungry......thank you..."

You say, "Tsharing picks her way sure-footedly up the mountain in spite of her handicap. Psyche stumbles occasionally. Rade's inattention makes the going tough for her. Typheous keeps tripping over random rocks and twigs, slipping on patches of ice, and generally slows the whole cabal to a relative crawl."

Psyche . o O ( Pay attention, would you? Fuck. )

[OOC] Typheous says, "The most dexerous person in the party...."

Typheous . o O ( Shut up, ok? Do I mock you when you screw up? )

Tsharing says, "It's simple. You just have to listen to the wind on the stones. The air is never destroyed by being smashed against the rock, is it?"

Psyche . o O ( Yes. )

Typheous . o O ( When it's not because you're being obtuse? )

Typheous sighs, and shakes his head at Tsharing's comments.

Rade stumbles and picks herself up, absently rubbing dirt off her hands onto her clothing and continuing on with a soft sigh.

Psyche . o O ( Look...I know you can see out of that eye. Slow down and think about where you're putting your hands instead of just trampling on everything like you're out for a day hike. )

Psyche keeps an eye on Rade.

Typheous . o O ( I know how to walk, thank you. )

You say, "You cover nearly twelve miles during the day. Just as the sun begins to set, a howl pierces the air behind you. Another answers, almost like a coughing laugh."

[OOC] Typheous says, "And how far up the hill do we make it?"

Rade pages: "words?"

Psyche . o O ( Apparently, not very well. What's that? )

Rade has received your page: "These are not the voices of natural wolves..."

Typheous . o O ( More of those damn fae? )

(remotely) Rade nods.

Tsharing listens to the howl.

Eclipse [to Typheous]: You're about five miles from the summit, as the crow flies.

Rade's head raises slightly, frowning.

Tsharing pages: "Can I use the sound to check the originator with Life and Spirit?"

Psyche pauses, listening as well. "Rade? Can you understand that?"

Tsharing has received your page: "Sure. Standard dif. Simple Perception Effect."

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Arete (3d10): 4, 2, 10 ** 2 successes (diff 3) **

Rade shakes her head very slowly. "No...they aren't wolves..."

Tsharing pages: "= 2"

[OOC] Typheous says, "Does my Medium help any in understanding them?"

Tsharing has received your page: "Redcap-aspect Fae. At least three of them, possibly more. A mile away. Give me a Int + Cosmology (or Lore: Fae), dif 6."

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled dice (2d10): 3, 6 No diff given.

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Past Lives (5) and Lives (0) (5d10): 3, 4, 5, 3, 1 ** BOTCH 1 (diff 7) **

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Ohdear."

Typheous has received your page: "You can't understand the meaning of the call, but it appears to have moved from the far side of the Dreaming Gauntlet to this side."

[OOC] Rade says, "that can't be good"

[OOC] Psyche says, "In your past life, apparently, you were a mud puddle."

Typheous pages: "Umm... Which means to us players? :) Don't know enough of WW fae"

[OOC] Psyche Tests something.

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Intelligence (4) and Dexterity (3) (7d10): 10, 6, 3, 5, 8, 1, 4 No diff given.

[OOC] You say, "Hm, what exactly happens when you botch a Past Lives check?"

[OOC] Rade says, "that's a good question :)"

Typheous has received your page: "Whatever it is, it couldn't (or didn't) cross into "your" world, but it has now."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "It tends to put the user in a mindscape related to the subject of the enquiry."

(remotely) Typheous smiles. That's what I thought...

[OOC] You say, "Oh bother..."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Great...."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Doesn't have to be that, if you can think of something worse."

Typheous frowns. "Whatever it means... they've moved to this world and not their own..."

Psyche arches a brow. . o O ( What does =that= mean? _

Tsharing says, "Fae of some kind...redcaps....hold on, let me listen...."

Typheous . o O ( It means that if it's the wolf-fae, they're not bound by their little rings any more..... And I don't know if we can take them all... )

Rade shivers slightly despite the warmth of the shield. "Maybe we should just....keep going...."

[OOC] Typheous says, "How many howls have we heard?"

Tsharing has received your page: "You have visions of a setting sun. The army of Redcaps will cross as soon as the sun blurs into twilight, and the Fae will invade the city on the mountain. The defenders there cannot hope to fend off the embodiment of primal Chaos the Fae represent."

[OOC] You say, "Two clearly audible ones."

Psyche nods slightly. "Listen quickly, if you can, Tsharing...Rade's right."

Typheous frowns. "Two of them..." His music seems to be weighing flight or fight.

Tsharing says, "There are hordes of them. Hundreds, if not more. And they are coming for us. Come, we must abandon this place and flee."

Tsharing has received your page: "(Basically, you're reliving the memory of someone who lived at the time when Order collapsed shortly after the Empire's initial fall."

Psyche . o O ( No foolish bravery. Come on. )

Psyche says, "On toward the Curtain, then?"

You say, "Another pair of laughing howls. Closer."

Typheous nods, motioning for the to get moving. "Yes, quickly."

[OOC] You say, "Dex + Survival, dif 6."

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Dexterity (3) and Survival (0) (3d10): 3, 5, 3 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Dexterity (4) and Survival (2) (6d10): 6, 5, 4, 2, 1, 9 ** 1 success (diff 6) **

Tsharing says, "Though, of course, it does not matter which way we flee. The world is burning, you see."

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Dexterity (4) and Survival (2) (6d10): 10, 8, 1, 10, 7, 7 ** 4 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] You say, "Stop it, El. You're scaring me..."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Since I keep getting the highest survival totals, can I vote people off the mountain?"

[Roll]: Rade rolled Dexterity (3) and Survival (2) (5d10): 2, 5, 4, 3, 3 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Typheous is purposefully staying in the back, letting the women go first, ready to draw his blades if needed.

[OOC] Rade says, "okay...what the heck :)"

[OOC] Eclipse lol.

[OOC] Typheous chuckles.

[OOC] Psyche giggles.

[OOC] Psyche is probably too busy trying to look through her eyes and Typheous's at the same time.

Tsharing hangs back, hastening the others along, and looking back fearfully. "Fire....it was there for a thousand years and now it burns so quickly,..so quickly...."

Typheous frowns at Tsharing, keeping hands as ready as he can to draw his blades while making sure any of the women don't fall.

Psyche says, "Tsharing...move! Don't waste time looking back; you're the best one at climbing the mountain. Find the path, godsdamnit."

Rade continues to stumble along, trying unsuccesfully to focus on what she's doing...eyes still devoid of any real caring as she fumbles.

Tsharing says, "Even if we did, where would we flee to? It is all dying."

You say, "You clambor up the wooded slope, gripping tree trunks and roots to help haul yourselves up. Rade and Psyche are struggling to keep up, while Typheous plays shepherd. Tsharing soon leaves the rest of you in the dust as sunset slides toward twilight. You would think an army pursued her. The laughing howls of the Redcaps draw nearer and more numerous. There must easily be six or eight of them hunting you, perhaps half a mile behind you."

Psyche snarls as she climbs, half imprecations at Tsharing's fatalism, half a string of curses that would burn a sailor's ears, all about how this particular mountain must have come to be.

[OOC] You say, "Give me a Stamina + Survival, dif 6."

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Stamina (2) and Survival (0) (2d10): 7, 7 ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Stamina (3) and Survival (2) (5d10): 4, 10, 8, 6, 10 No diff given.

[OOC] Tsharing says, "4!"

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Stamina (2) and Survival (2) (4d10): 8, 7, 2, 1 ** 1 success (diff 6) **

[OOC] Typheous says, "1"

[OOC] You say, "So, who are you voting off the mountain?"

[Roll]: Rade rolled Stamina (1) and Survival (2) (3d10): 9, 9, 8 ** 3 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Rade says, "bout friggin time :)"

[OOC] Psyche says, "2 :)"

Tsharing waits impatiently up ahead, clearly anxious. "Hurry yourself, citizens! The minions of the Flayed One are not too far behind!"

Psyche . o O ( )

Psyche . o O ( Delusional? )

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Gee, whatever gave you the hint?"

You say, "The howls are close, now. As you combat exhaustion with fear, you occasionally glimpse dark shapes loping behind you. There seems no end to the forest and mountain."

Typheous . o O ( That, or something worse.... )

Tsharing has received your page: "You see the edge of the forest up ahead."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Are we making progress to the top of the mountain?"

Psyche . o O ( Can we make it, or should we try and find cover somehow? )

Rade's body falls into a state of continued motion, her only worry to get away from whatever chases them.

Typheous . o O ( I might be able to pull something.... Not sure how well it will work.... )

[OOC] You say, "You have gone nearly a mile. On this steep slope and in under an hour, that is rather impressive."

Typheous pages: "Would Corr 2 Forces 2 let us block all sound/sight of us within a certain area? And if I add in Mind to mask us there too? And hos difficult do I think this would be?"

Psyche pages: "Can one heal oneself of fatigue with Life 2, or does that fall under Alter Self (Life 3)?"

Typheous keeps his position as last in line, hands moving to help anyone who starts to stumble.

Tsharing pages: "I'm having fun with this. But so I know, how long does it last?>"

Typheous has received your page: "Forces 2 could block sight and sound, but not smell. Mind 3 could create a sufficiently powerful illusion to foil all senses. Mind 2 might be able to dull the senses, but that would be the most difficult."

Tsharing has received your page: "Just until the end of the scene should be fine."

Typheous pages: "Hmmms... And what would be needed to stop smell? Could I use Forces 2 to stop wind around us? Or would Life be needed to block sent?"

Psyche has received your page: "Life 2 could heal personal fatigue."

Psyche pages: "Diff 5, 4 w/focus, right?"

Typheous has received your page: "Yes, but it would be of little use at close range."

Psyche has received your page: "Yes."

Tsharing carries on ushering them along. "We cannot stand against an army. Our only hope is to flee."

Psyche bites into her lip, drawing blood. "The body obeys the will of the mind..." she murmurs to herself. "Will can overcome anything..."

(remotely) Typheous hmms... and do I think I could pull my Scapegoat rote out and convince them to chase a random bunny, or some such.

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Arete (2d10): 10, 9 ** 2 successes (diff 4) **

Typheous has received your page: "The other thing you could do is create an illusion that makes you seem to be somewhere else with Forces 2."

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Arete (2d10): 4, 10 ** 2 successes (diff 4) **

Psyche pages: "That do it?"

Typheous pages: "Or at least with scapegoat, convince them our trail goes a different way than we do?"

Typheous has received your page: "Actually, that might actually work. You'd have to affect each of them as individual targets/"

Psyche has received your page: "Yes."

Typheous pages: "And how many do I think are out there? (And I assume I could add Corr 2 to make it so I don't have to see them?)"

Psyche . o O ( *cessation of exhaustion* )

You say, "Psyche surges ahead, moving as though the chase had only just begun."

Typheous has received your page: "6-8 of them. Cor 2 could allow you to see them, yes."

Typheous . o O ( I might be able do something... )

Psyche . o O ( Do what? )

Typheous pages: "Hmmm... need an exact count... Corr 1/2 Life 1 to count them?"

Typheous . o O ( Convince them we went another direction than we did.... Now how many are there out there.... )

Tsharing has received your page: "You've reached the edge of the forest. Barren rocks with the remnants of harvested trees lie beyond. You can see the smoke of a small settlement in the distance. (Sanity restored)"

Typheous has received your page: "Simple Perception Effect. Dif 3."

Psyche . o O ( Let me look... )

Tsharing says, "We are safe. They won't find us here...."

[OOC] Psyche says, "Minimap."

Tsharing shakes her head suddenly. "What happened?"

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Arete (2d10): 4, 1 ** 0 successes (diff 4) **

(remotely) Typheous lets Psyche do it....

[OOC] Rade uses....no magic whatsoever... :)

You say, "All of you can see Tsharing up ahead, standing at the edge of the forest. Everyone give me an Int + Cosmology (or Lore: Fae), dif 6"

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Intelligence (4) and Cosmology (0) (4d10): 10, 8, 1, 8 ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Intelligence (2) and Cosmology (0) (2d10): 5, 1 ** BOTCH 1 (diff 6) **

[OOC] Typheous says, "She's just passed onto the Unseelie side, right?"

Psyche pages: "Does 0 w/out botch stop an effect?"

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Intelligence (2) and Cosmology (2) (4d10): 2, 7, 6, 3 ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Rade says, "I can role lore? Or do you have to specify what type of lore you know? :)"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Better."

[OOC] Rade shrugs

[Roll]: Rade rolled Intelligence (3) (3d10): 2, 1, 10 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

Psyche has received your page: "If you don't leave the forest before twilight, you will pass out of it into the Dreaming side of the Gauntlet, instead, unless you wait at least three hours to leave the forest, dealing with Fae on their home turf."

Psyche has received your page: "No, but starting over is kind of inevitable, yes?"

(remotely) Psyche noddles.

Tsharing has received your page: "If you don't leave the forest before twilight, you will pass out of it into the Dreaming side of the Gauntlet, instead, unless you wait at least three hours to leave the forest, dealing with Fae on their home turf."

[OOC] Rade will have to pick lore later. :)

Psyche . o O ( Typheous...if we don't leave the forest before twilight, we'll pass out of it into the Dreaming side of the Gauntlet, instead...unless we wait at least three hours to leave. )

Typheous has received your page: "You've slipped across the Gauntlet and are now in the Dreaming."

Tsharing seems to be back to normal now. "How far to the edge?"

[OOC] Rade says, "hey, I have no problem with the dreaming. :)"

Typheous curses rather foully. "We're in the Dreaming...."

Psyche shakes her head. "Not yet we aren't..."

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: You're at the edge of the forest. The others are 100 yards away from it, on a steep slope. Twilight is 5 minutes away.

(remotely) Typheous scans for the dang fae... Just need successes for range and 1 into effect, right?

Tsharing returns to the others and says those things, then.

Psyche . o O ( Move your ass - we have to get out of the forest. I thought you didn't believe in swearing. )

Rade blinks, looking around. "The dreaming....?" She slows.

Typheous draws his main gauche and stare down the blade. . o O ( I'm not so sure on that.... And I don't like doing it without reason. )

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 2, 6, 6 [Spent 1 WP for a success] ** 3 successes (diff 3) **

Tsharing says, "Then we have little time to waste. I know a method of exercise that will allow rapid travel."

Typheous has received your page: "Range isn't the problem. Targets are. There are 8 Redcaps pursuing you. It will take 3 successes of effect to change their targets."

Psyche says, "Unless we're out of this woods by twilight, we -will- wind up in the Dreaming."

Typheous pages: "For the Life/Corr scan?"

(remotely) Typheous was still getting an accurate count.

Typheous has received your page: "No. You're good. 8 Redcaps, 4 of whom are within 50 yards and closing. Two of those are flanking."

Typheous growls and keeps moving. "Let's keep going....And fast damn it..."

Tsharing says, "I can get us out of here twice as fast."

Psyche moves to help Rade. "Then do it."

[OOC] You say, "Rade and Typ, Sta + Survival, dif 7. Psyche, Dex or Sta (your choice) + Survival, dif 6."

Tsharing says, "Follow my movements."

Typheous thrusts the main gauch to the left as he keeps his pace. He pictures the fae in his head. ( Scapegoat, fae as the target, corr to see them and the blade to point the way the follow... 1 roll for now? And diff 4?)

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Dexterity (3) and Survival (0) (3d10): 9, 9, 4 ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Typheous says, "Will concentration help lower that differ?"

Tsharing pages: "Gravity shield, reducing the effects of gravity on us by about 50%. 3 target, 2 duration, how many effect?"

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Give me an Int + Survival, dif 7.

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Nevermind...

Tsharing has received your page: "2 will do it."

[Roll]: Rade rolled Stamina (1) and Survival (2) (3d10): 1, 9, 6 ** 0 successes (diff 7) **

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Arete (3d10): 3, 2, 4 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Arete (3d10): 4, 7, 3 ** 2 successes (diff 4) **

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Spending 1 Quintessence on this, come tio think of it."

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Arete (3d10): 2, 1, 4 ** 0 successes (diff 3) **

*** Scourge die is a 1: Backlash Triggered ***

Eclipse [to Typheous]: No. This is a straight physical activity.

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Arete (3d10): 2, 7, 10 ** 2 successes (diff 3) **

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Arete (3d10): 3, 3, 5 ** 3 successes (diff 3) **

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Got it."

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 5, 6, 6 [Spent 1 WP for a success] ** 4 successes (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 1, 5, 9 ** 1 success (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 6, 3, 4 ** 2 successes (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 2, 6, 3 [Spent 1 WP for a success] ** 2 successes (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 1, 9, 8 ** 1 success (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 1, 7, 5 ** 1 success (diff 4) **

Tsharing says, "It is done."

(remotely) Typheous has the 11 for 8 targets and 3 effect... sending our trail off to the left.

You say, "The Redcaps converge in front of you, cutting off your escape."

Tsharing says, "Please try not to run headlong into a tree."

You say, "They snarl and begin ripping into innocent trees with their heavy axes."

Psyche . o O ( Your fault? )

Rade staggers to a halt, eyes looking on in horror. "NO! Stop!!!"

You say, "It is 30 seconds until twilight. You are 10 yards away from the edge of the forest."

Tsharing says, "Now, I suggest we run."

Psyche says, "Likewise."

Tsharing runs and jumps over them.

[OOC] Tsharing says, "What roll would that be?"

Typheous lets out a breath he had been holding and curse, beinging to run toward the edge of the forest. "No! Rade! Come on!"

[OOC] Psyche says, "How far to get around them, and can I take Rade with me?"

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Dex + Athletics

[OOC] Tsharing says, "You're all half as heavy now, don't forget that."

Eclipse [to Psyche]: 20 feet. Yes.

Typheous will dash and try his best to avoid them.

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Dexterity (4), Athletics (2), and wp (0) (6d10): 6, 7, 7, 8, 10, 6 [Spent 1 WP for a success]No diff given.

[OOC] Rade hrms

Typheous . o O ( Yes... now move.... )

[OOC] Eclipse watches as his game turns into Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon...

[OOC] Rade says, "flys!"

[OOC] Typheous chuckles.

Psyche . o O ( I've got Rade. Go. )

Psyche says, "Rade, move!"

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: That's seven successes. Pose whatever you like...

[OOC] Typheous says, "Dex+athletics for all up us?"

[OOC] Psyche says, "And if she doesn't within a few seconds, I'm going to grab her."

[OOC] Typheous will also help drag her along, if he can.

[OOC] Rade double hrms

Tsharing leaps about ten feet high, and lands on a tree branch, before launching off a frozen leaf, which snaps just after het foot parts from it and falls to the ground as she lands, just outside the border.

[OOC] Rade says, "they're between us and safety?"

Eclipse [to Typheous]: Sure...

[OOC] Psyche says, "Yep."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Leap. I've lightened y'all."

Eclipse [to Rade]: Technically, yes.

[OOC] Rade says, "and they're tearing up trees...hmmmm"

[OOC] Typheous says, "So, do we get to carry Rade here?"

[OOC] Psyche dunno yet :)

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Or is she going to go into scary hippy rage mode?"

[OOC] Psyche will then have to bat her over the head and carry her off.

Typheous pages: "And was the "Sure" about dex+athletics?"

Rade screeches in fury, darting forward, but directly at one of the redcaps.

Psyche . o O ( Fuck. Grab her! We don't have time for this shit! )

[OOC] Tsharing says, "She's half as heavy. You could throw her out."

Typheous has received your page: "Yes."

[OOC] Psyche was already ready to grab her, do I have any chance to do that?

Typheous . o O ( I'm working on it.... )

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Go to intiative?"

[OOC] Typheous would also try to grab her...

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Sounds like a good idea.

[OOC] You say, "Initiative, everyone."

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Initiative (5d10): 3, 5, 2, 8, 4 ** 3 successes (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Initiative (4d10): 7, 1, 9, 3 ** 1 success (diff 4) **

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Me? I'm out."

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Initiative (5d10): 6, 5, 8, 6, 5 ** 5 successes (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Rade rolled Initiative (5d10): 8, 10, 1, 2, 8 ** 2 successes (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (5d10): 3, 7, 3, 9, 2 No diff given.

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Go.

Tsharing waits on her side of the border to see what will happen.

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Delay."

Eclipse [to Typheous]: Go.

Typheous tries to grab Rade in a way that he could jump for the edge next round.

[OOC] Typheous says, "Umm.. Dex+brawl or Dex+ Athletics?"

[OOC] You say, "Dex + Brawl, dif 6."

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Dexterity (4) and Brawl (0) (4d10): 2, 1, 4, 3 ** BOTCH 1 (diff 6) **

[OOC] Typheous facepalms.

[OOC] Rade says, "ouchie"

[OOC] You say, "Typing up all the combat and magic rules was one of the best investments of time I've made in a long time."

[OOC] Typheous trips and falls on his face?

Tsharing has lost her link.

[OOC] Eclipse will post the result as soon as Tsharing reconnects...

Tsharing has connected.

Rade pages: "Just in warning....assuming she doesn't get stopped somehow...she's going to bumrush the one, try to slice it up as best she can, but basically dart in, out and run like hell. Maybe some sort of runby slash or somethin if that's allowable."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "What did that botch do?"

You say, "Typheous gets a grip on Rade's shoulder just as she takes off toward the Redcaps, yanking him face-first into a tree and causing him to release her and crumple to the ground. (soak bashing 1)"

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Stamina (2) (2d10): 3, 3 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Typheous sighs...

[OOC] You say, "Someone gets a bloody nose..."

[OOC] Rade says, "owie"

Rade has received your page: "Split pools as if for two actions."

Typheous . o O ( I'm just going to stop trying to rescue women form their own stupidity... it's too much pain.... )

Rade pages: "ick"

Psyche . o O ( Told you she was daft. Ow, -damn-, your nose hurts. )

[OOC] Rade hrms

Rade pages: "well..she has no melee, so her smallest pool is 3. so one die for each...hmmmm"

Eclipse [to Rade]: Go.

Typheous . o O ( I've had worse... )

Psyche . o O ( I know. I healed it. )

Rade steel flashes in Rade's hand as she draws her dagger, body flying across the soil toward the redcap, her small form looking rather pitiful in the face of the fae. . o O ( Not again, not without some sort of payment. )

Rade pages: "roll for the run, then the attack?"

[OOC] Rade poses pretty, then probably falls on her face.

Rade has received your page: "No roll for the run. It just makes your attack more difficult."

(remotely) Rade blinks. "One die though right? Smallest dice pool, the my attack, ehh?"

Rade has received your page: "Fraid so..."

[OOC] Rade grins

[Roll]: Rade rolled dice (1d10): 4 No diff given.

[OOC] Rade says, "woot!"

[OOC] Rade says, "failure!"

Rade has received your page: "Pose the retreat, now, so as not to confuse your cabalmates..."

[OOC] Psyche says, "And she bangs her nose on a tree?"

You say, "The knife slices the air just short of the Redcap."

Rade stumbles as she flashes past the Redcap, knife clattering from her hands, she seems to start to pull up, turn back for it and another pass...but with another howl of furry continues on toward safty.

[OOC] Rade says, "woot! a howl of furry!"

Eclipse [to Psyche]: Go.

[OOC] Psyche says, "Also cute aaand FLUFFY!"

[OOC] Typheous chuckles.

[OOC] You say, "And anthropomorphic..."

From Psyche: [Private Roll]: Psyche rolled Intelligence (4) (4d10): 4, 1, 4, 8 No diff given.

[OOC] You say, "Anyone here know what a Furry is? *shudder*"

[OOC] Psyche gags.

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Yes."

[OOC] Typheous stays blissfuly ignorant.

Psyche darts sideways, aborting her grab for Rade as Typheous hits the tree, bending to help him up. "Move, godsdamnit. She's going."

[OOC] Psyche says, "Help Typheous up, then run."

You say, "The Redcaps cut down their respective trees and realize they have been deceived. Their red eyes narrow to angry slits and they growl."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Everyone getting out?"

[OOC] Typheous says, "Damn.. in a round... wow....."

[OOC] You say, "The three of you still in the forest, give me a Dex (or Stamina) + Athletics (or Survival), dif 6"

[OOC] Typheous is workingon it... have to detach self from tree.

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Dexterity (3) and Survival (0) (3d10): 9, 2, 9 ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Psyche says, "No wolf, no common sense..."

[OOC] Rade bats Psyche.

[OOC] Rade bets Halda'd be proud :)

[OOC] Rade says, "after kicking her butt"

You say, "Psyche and Typheous surge out of the woods. Rade trips on a branch, in classic horror film fashion, and falls down. The Redcaps close in."

[OOC] Psyche says, "What's left of it."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "My action."

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Go ahead.

[OOC] Typheous chuckles...

Rade has received your page: "What's your permanent Willpower?"

Tsharing makes a simple "Come here." gesture, rechanelling Rade's fall so the energy carries her out of the ring rather than down. Should be Df3, successes for a target at half normal weight?

Rade pages: "8"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Df4, rather. But adding one Quintessence to that."

[OOC] Rade says, "Figures, the one time I have every intention of actually doing what I'm supposed to...I trip :)"

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: :nods. 2 Sucs in effect, 1 for target.

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Arete (3d10): 10, 4, 9 [Spent 1 WP for a success] ** 4 successes (diff 3) **

You say, "Instead of falling to the ground, Rade hurtles forward as though she had been thrown out of the woods by an invisible bouncer. You are all out of the woods. The Redcaps howl and snarl as they surge toward you."

Tsharing says, "I am glad you finally decided to join us out here."

Tsharing drops the weight-reducing spell, and readies herself.

[OOC] You say, "You're lucky. They were going to use Fleeing the Nightmare on Rade to slow her flight down to a mere crawl on their turn..."

Psyche spins around to look for Rade as she exits the woods, watching the girl's flight with a curious disinterest. "Save the speeches." She draws her knife, moving unconsciously to stand beside Typheous. . o O ( You can add running into trees to the things you aren't allowed to do. Fuck, my nose hurts. ) She rubs her nose with her free hand.

Typheous collapses, trying to catch his breath. . o O ( Damn... woman... fae... shit...)

Rade tumbles forward? faltering through the dirt and sod as she finally comes to a halt, slowly picking herself up. She raises her head to glare back with narrowed eyes at the redcaps, pulling loose her sling.

[OOC] Typheous says, "Hmm.. wait, does it look like the redcaps can make it out of the wood? if so, eh doesn't collapse."

You say, "The Redcaps reach the forest's edge just as twilight arrives. With a forlorn howl, they vanish into thin air as they pass into the clearing."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Then he does collapse."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Is Rade's knife still there?"

Psyche gasps from relief as the Redcaps vanish, dropping to one knee and fighting to catch her own breath as she sheathes her dagger. "Are we out, then? Tsharing?"

Rade screeches with an oath that would make a sailor blush, then drops to her knees crying.

Tsharing says, "I am out. I hope none of you are hurt?"

You say, "The forest seems to twist before you into a fairy tale version of a dark, haunted wood, complete with discouraging wooden signs."

Psyche mutters to herself. "Only Typheous." She glances to Rade at the woman's oath, one brow lifting.

Psyche . o O ( Wow. )

Typheous gets back to his feet. "And it's more my pride than anything else." . o O ( *I* am impressed by that one... I thought I'd heard most of htem....

Tsharing says, "I wish to apologise for my behaviour on the mountain. I was not myself."

Psyche stands slowly. "I noticed. Happens to everyone, once in a while."

Typheous pulls a cloth from his pack to wipe this blood from his face. . o O ( Mind helping me with this? )

Psyche . o O ( *hesitantly* I suppose I can try... )

Rade's tears drop to the soil beneith her, though her sobs slow after a moment, fading to nothing, whispering softly to herself.

Typheous . o O ( You don't have to, if you think it would be unplesant... )

Psyche walks over toward Typheous, closing her eyes and visibly bracing herself as she reaches out to touch his face. She still flinches, other hand clutching briefly at her stomach. "Just shut up and let me try." . o O ( This shouldn't work. ) A deep, calming breath. "Wounds close together, bind and heal, faster, stronger..."

You say, "Though the light is rapidly failing, a column of smoke about a mile uphill seems to indicate the existance of a small settlement there."

Psyche . o O ( You try too. )

Tsharing heads off in the direction of the heat plume.

Psyche pages: "Heal self, Typheous as self."

(to Psyche) Eclipse nods.

Typheous . o O ( If you insist.... )

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Arete (2d10): 1, 4 ** 0 successes (diff 4) **

*** Scourge die is a 1: Backlash Triggered ***

Typheous keeps his eyes on Psyche, his hand moving to his stones in his pocket.

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 6, 2, 1 ** 0 successes (diff 4) **

*** Scourge die is a 1: Backlash Triggered ***

[OOC] Psyche laughs.

[OOC] Typheous sighs... I am going to die...

[OOC] Psyche says, "Twin Souls strikes back."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "In public?!"

Rade stays right where she is, sitting in solem sadness.

[OOC] Rade says, "man...that's just ick :)"

[OOC] You say, "If it's any consolation, there isn't an auto-Backlash on healing and neither of you botched. Care to start over?"

[OOC] Psyche says, "Yes."

Typheous sighs, keeping his attention on Psyche's eyes.

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 8, 4, 6 ** 3 successes (diff 4) **

Psyche frowns slightly. . o O ( Something...that wasn't right. Try again. )

[Roll]: Psyche rolled Arete (2d10): 7, 3 ** 1 success (diff 4) **

[OOC] You say, "That ought to do it..."

[OOC] Psyche says, "Against 1 damage? :)"

[OOC] Typheous says, "1 bashing at that."

Typheous mops the last of the blood up with his cloth. "Thank you, Psyche." His music holds a bit of surprise that it worked.

You say, "The ground is not nearly as steep here, though it is still far from flat. Tree trunks peek up through the snow, a clear sign of the influence of civilization."

Psyche keeps her eyes closed, withdrawing her hands with a gasp as the magic works on the second try, stumbling backwards a few steps, and putting one hand to her mouth. Another deep breath. "Don't mention it."

Psyche . o O ( I am -not- going to be sick. )

Typheous turns to the plume of smoke which is probably a town. "Shall we head that way, before we collapse?" . o O ( *Sigh* I could try to block it for you... )

[OOC] Eclipse has dropped the Plot Janitor with the magic Railroading Broom.

[OOC] Rade uh ohs.

Psyche shakes her head. "Yes, let's," she says paradoxically.

[OOC] Typheous says, "Why? because we'll never make it there otherwise?"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Dropped as in beaten up?"

[OOC] You say, "Dropped in the OGR NPC sense..."

Tsharing heads to town.

Rade eventually finds her feet, eyes back to their dull mourning look, continuing onward.

Psyche gives you Plot Janitor.

[OOC] Tsharing says, "That would have been an entertaining fight. What's a Railroading Broom? Is it anything like a Stick of Pain?"

Typheous heads to town... whee.

You gently release Plot Janitor to the ground.

[OOC] You say, "But does it actually DO anything?"

[OOC] Plot Janitor peers around

You try to get a good grip on Plot Janitor, but despite moments of comical contortion and awkward groping, you fail to pick them up.

[OOC] Typheous chuckles.

[OOC] You say, "I'll take that as a "you really don't want to know"..."

[OOC] Rade laughs madly.

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Staff-fighting and wrestling. The janitor's kung fu is strong."

Plot Janitor beats Eclipse over the head with the Railroading Broom!

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Coming next on Pay-Per-View...."

[OOC] Typheous taps the reality button.

You say, "You near a fortress-like community with images of cranes, tigers, dragons, and other animals engraved in the iron walls. Silver spikes line the tops of the wall."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Any door/gate?"

Psyche studies the walls. . o O ( Welcoming... )

[OOC] You say, "Everyone give me an Int + Culture, dif 6."

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Intelligence (2) and Culture (0) (2d10): 8, 9 ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

Eclipse [to Typheous]: Yes, though it has been closed for the night.

[Roll]: Rade rolled Intelligence (3) and Culture (0) (3d10): 8, 2, 7 ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Tsharing says, "I'd comment on that, but I don't have Matter. I've no idea what they're made of."

[OOC] Psyche says, "No fair!"

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Intelligence (2) and Culture (0) (2d10): 3, 3 ** 0 successes (diff 6) **

Typheous and Rade have received your page: "Unless you're in an entirely foreign pocket of Order, this must be the Tybil Monastary."

[OOC] Rade laughs soflty.

Typheous pages: "And is that near the town we were headed to?"

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Actually, roll your Do, too. It's relavent...

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Plus anything?"

Rade pages: "Quick rundon about what rade would know about Tybil monastary's?"

Eclipse [to Tsharing]: Nope. Dif 6

[Roll]: Tsharing rolled Do (1) (1d10): 7 [Spent 1 WP for a success] ** 2 successes (diff 6) **

Tsharing has received your page: "Unless you're in an entirely foreign pocket of Order, this must be the Tybil Monastary. Gama comes here fairly often for supplies and healing, though he mostly patrols southeast of here."

Tsharing says, "I recognise this place. It is the Tybil Monastary."

[OOC] You say, "If your guess is right, this place is on the World map on my site..."

Typheous nods. "Yes... I would say it is."

Psyche . o O ( Who? )

[OOC] Typheous says, "Ok, Drapheous is officially never teleporting us in the morning again."

Rade bites her lip, nodding, looking tenativly at the walls, and the animals.

[OOC] You say, "Drapheous is not a morning person?"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Wrong side?"

Typheous frowns, his music darkening. . o O ( Well, we're definately not where we wanted to be at all. Possibly further than we were at Wizdin. )

[OOC] Psyche says, "Where were we trying to go?"

[OOC] You say, "Theusleh."

[OOC] You say, "And you started in Wyzdin."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Almost.... Think north pole on his map. And Theuseleh is in the middle... and Wizdin on the right side."

[OOC] Psyche nods. I see it.

Psyche folds her arms. . o O ( Fucking Drapheous and his fucking 'help'... ) Her gaze darkens.

Typheous sighs. . o O ( Should have walked... or... it might not be hid fault... There might be a shield on Theusleh... )

Psyche . o O ( Right. )

[OOC] You say, "If you only knew..."

Rade whispers softly. "Maybe they can get us back..."

Psyche says, "Maybe they can get us where we're supposed to be."

Typheous sighs softly. "Perhaps..." His music is dubious. "Who wants to knock?"

Tsharing knocks.

Sentry, "Who disturbs the peace of the Tybil Monastary?"

From Psyche: [Private Roll]: Psyche rolled Intelligence (4) (4d10): 2, 2, 2, 2 No diff given.

Rade's eyes lower to her feet, staring at the ground beneith them.

Psyche steps forward behind Tsharing, arms folded.

Tsharing says, "A pupil of Gama and her companions, seeking sanctuary."

Typheous stands as a guard to the side of Tsharing, music turning to a tune of hope and fear.

Sentry, "Lower any wards you may have active. We must scan all visitors after sunset."

Tsharing leaves just her sensory spell, dispelling everything else.

Psyche spreads her hands. "We have nothign to hide."

Rade barely even shrugs in response, magic, what magic?

Typheous drops his cold shield, pulling his cloak tight around himself. . o O ( Please let Tsharing and I speak... I don't want to be left out in the cold. )

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (1d10): 9 No diff given.

Sentry, "This should only take a moment.

From Psyche: [Private Roll]: Psyche rolled Willpower (8) (8d10): 7, 6, 3, 6, 2, 8, 3, 10 No diff given.

Sentry, "You must be brave Fae to knock on silver-chaised iron doors."

[OOC] Rade blinks

[OOC] You say, "See? Botching Perception Effects doesn't just happen to PCs."

[OOC] Typheous chuckles... damn... We comd the night the 1 arete guy is the guard...

Tsharing places her bare hand on the iron. "Could a fae do this?"

Rade pages: "Hrm...Rade does have fae blood :)"

[OOC] Rade rofls

Typheous . o O ( Not really, but it might be a bit forward for travellers. )

Sentry, "Um, maybe a really powerful Fae noble?"

Rade looks slowly up at the Sentry, blinking at him in confusion.

Psyche steps up beside Tsharing, mimicking her gesture. "We are not Fae."

Tsharing says, "We do flee from them, though."

Typheous steps forward. "Good sir, I assure you that we are not Fae and have no attachments to them. We are just merely travellers seeking shelter for the night."

Sentry, "You aren't? But I sense... Hold on. Let me get my supervisor."

You say, "A minute of silence passes."

[OOC] Rade says, "Oh lord no..."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Oratory (Mind 2 rote) to up my roll to convince him.... And I assume as travel stained as we are, I'm dressed to look like a traveller?"

[OOC] Typheous sorries.. was typing...

"roll" is not the name of any player.

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (2d10): 1, 3 No diff given.

[OOC] You say, "Bloody..."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Do I get my roll in for the Oratory? :)"

[OOC] Rade rofls

[OOC] Psyche sniggers.

Supervisor, "Fae aren't welcome in the Tybil Monastary. Clear off before I am forced to call the Silver Guard to dispose of you. There is a powerful mage visiting us tonight. He has bested more than one of your motleys, you know."

Tsharing says, "Then call him out."

Eclipse [to Typheous]: You can make an honest effort, yes.

From Psyche: [Private Roll]: Psyche rolled Willpower (8) (8d10): 4, 8, 9, 5, 1, 6, 6, 3 ** 1 success (diff 8) **

Psyche bites her tongue, but barely.

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 7, 8, 1 ** 1 success (diff 4) **

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Arete (3d10): 7, 7, 2 ** 2 successes (diff 4) **

Rade stares up at this newcomer with renewed confusion. "We're not like those...monsters..."

Typheous lets his cloak drop open, arms open. "Sir, we have just fled from a number of fae that have tried to kill us, slaughtering one of our friends. Please, I ask you to grant us shelter, at least for the evening. ( Drop 2 into effect and 1 into duration for bonus social dice... what do I roll to convince him?)

Supervisor, "Maybe not, but it's not easy to tell a Guile from a Sael in the dark. Perhaps if you come back in the morning..."

From Psyche: [Private Roll]: Psyche rolled Willpower (8) (8d10): 4, 1, 8, 2, 6, 3, 1, 10 ** 0 successes (diff 8) **

Eclipse [to Typheous]: Charisma + Subterfuge, dif 6

[Roll]: Typheous rolled dice (8d10): 5, 4, 7, 8, 1, 9, 9, 2 ** 3 successes (diff 6) **

[OOC] Tsharing says, "OK, who says we kill them and take their stuff? ;-)"

Supervisor, "Well, maybe. Er... Hold on. Let me get one of the Monks."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Unfornately they're on the top of the wall, I think..."

[OOC] You say, "Yep."

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (3d10): 3, 2, 5 No diff given.

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (3d10): 8, 10, 1 No diff given.

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (3d10): 4, 10, 6 No diff given.

Psyche snaps. "Maybe he

Psyche snaps. "Maybe he'll have a little fucking sense."

Typheous sighs softly, staring up at the wall. . o O ( Damn burachracies...)

You say, "A minute of silence passes."

Rade shuffles a little forward, pulling her cloak tigher about her and saying in a small voice. "I'm freezing."

Typheous . o O ( Dammit can't you keep you mouth shut and let someone who can at least talk to someone without calling them six kinds of bitch take care of things? )

Monk, "Rhac, Pigin, open the gates. You must learn to empty yourself so you can feel the truth about others."

Typheous bows to the new voice. "Thank you, sir." His music adds a flourish.

Psyche . o O ( Fuck you, Typheous. I tried. I only have so much fucking patience. )

Typheous . o O ( Then perhaps you need more. Unless you like sleeping in the cold. )

You say, "The silver-chaised iron gates open, revealing a torchlit courtyard surrounded by humble dwellings, empty practice yards, and rock gardens."

Psyche just glares at the walls, after making a rude gesture in Typheous's direction and rendering everyone within twenty feet a good ten degrees colder.

Rade shivers even more.

Typheous motions for the others to enter first.

Tsharing goes in.

You say, "An elf with his hands in the sleeves of a heavy, grey robe approaches you from one side, coming down off the walls."

Psyche . o O ( *silence, walling you out* )

Rade walks along slowly, eyes downcast as she passes the gates.

Tsharing says, "Hello. Thank you for granting us shelter."

Monk, "Forgive the initiates. They must be tired from the day's exercises. Counting the grains in an hourglass as they fall is wearying work for those not yet used to it.

Psyche stalks silently in.

Typheous bows to the Monk. "That is quite all right. We understand your paranoia about fae, as well." . o O ( You know I thought when I walled you out I was being childish... )

Monk, "It is not often we have mortal visitors arrive from the north. The Uncharted Regions lie not far from here in that direction. I imagine there is a story in this somewhere. Come with me. I'll see you fed and warmed. Our fare is humble but satisfying."

Tsharing says, "Of course."

Typheous nods to the monk, but his gaze is on Psyche, his music tense.

Psyche . o O ( Just...leave me alone. What were you saying about not fucking rubbing my face in my fucking failings? Godsdamned asshole. Why anyone would ever think you had an ounce of sensitivity in your godsdamned body is beyond me. Leave me the fuck alone! )

From Psyche: [Private Roll]: Psyche rolled Willpower (8) (8d10): 5, 2, 9, 8, 2, 3, 7, 5 ** 2 successes (diff 8) **

Rade continues to shiver, not looking up, eyes perpetually on her own feet. She follows the group as they move.

Psyche turns to the monk, offering a curt "Thank you." But it's offset by her chill.

You say, "He leads you to a simple living area that is far warmer than the outside air and offers you a meal of goat cheese and water. His name, he reveals, is Montbank Skop."

Tsharing says, "Tsharing Seng. We should not be here, we were meant to be teleported somewhere else, but something went wrong and we founfd ourselves in the middle of the woods."

Typheous . o O ( Look, when I try to be sensative, you either treat me as an adder that you're not sure if he's going to strike at you or you bite my head off. And you weren't exactly admitting it as a failure. I was trying to be diplomatic rather than just saying 'you fucked up' )

Rade finds a spot to kneel away from the food, not seeming interested.

Typheous bows, his music cadencing. "Typheous Elth."

Tsharing says, "I apologise for the music and the cold. It is not conscious on their part."

Montbank, "Why did you not transport yourself back?"

!!! A checkpoint has begun. During the next few minutes, you will experience slow response time (AKA lag). Be patient, grasshopper.

!!! The checkpoint has finished. After a suspenseful 2 seconds, the world is saved once more.

Psyche wheels to glare at Typheous. . o O ( You could quit spending every fucking minute telling me when I fuck up...and you can fucking well quit trying to teach me shit. You're obviously inept at being the least fucking bit courteous toward me, since every time I make an error you feel the need to rub my fucking face in it, since I don't conform to your formula for admitting my wrongdoing. You're in my fucking head. Can't you fucking tell when I know I'm wrong? ) "Nor do you have anything to do with it, Tsharing, so I'd appreciate it if you quit acting like you had to apologise for me, thank you." She turns back around to face the monk. "We lack the strength, sir." Beat. "I am Psyche Aldaria."

Montbank_nods. "I see. Where were you bound before your mishap?"

You try to get a good grip on Plot Janitor, but despite moments of comical contortion and awkward groping, you fail to pick them up.

Plot Janitor goes to sleep. The person is now dead to the world.

[OOC] Rade says, "@move plot to me :)"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "I'd answer, but I've forgotten."

Typheous sighs softly, his music only slightly changing with Psyche's comments in his head. . o O ( Fine, I'm sorry for what I said in the forest. I had a tree in my face at the time and wasn't exactly thinking clearly. ) "We were bound for Theusleh, sir."

[OOC] You say, "The capital - Theusleh."

Rade leans her head against one wall, staring at the floor at first, though eventually raising her eyes to look at the monk, though not meeting his own, mearly looking.

Montbank_nods. "I see. What business did you have there? Are not the classes in Wyzdin still in session?"

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (5d10): 5, 5, 6, 2, 2 No diff given.

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (3d10): 6, 9, 5 No diff given.

Tsharing says, "They are, but a friend of ours is missing. Apparently, he is in the area of the capital, so we felt a need to go and find him."

Montbank, "Are you not afraid the ones responsible for his kidnapping will attack you?"

[Roll]: Eclipse rolled dice (3d10): 5, 6, 6 No diff given.

New_Voice, "Brother Montbank. Please refrain from worrying these travelers by pulling the thoughts from their minds."

Typheous nods slowly. "We are aware of the potential of that, sir. However, our friend's safty is more important to us."

Tsharing has received your page: "You recognize Gama's voice."

Tsharing says, "Hello, master."

Rade blinks, eyes shifting slightly, seeking the new voice.

You say, "A short (4 ft) man with a heavy beard, dressed in furs and armed with a battle axe stands in the doorway behind you."

Gama, "Is that you Tsharing? What are you doing this far north? I thought you were going to the academy in Wyzdin.

Tsharing says, "I was. Something went wrong."

Typheous steps back to Tsharing's side, letting her have the point, his music falling further into the background.

Gama, "The ambush of travelers between Theusleh and Wyzdin? I had heard about that from Lori. Messy business, that. Too far from the borders to be Fae..."

Tsharing says, "We were intentionally diverted?"

Typheous frowns. "Were they those travelling by the roads?"

Psyche sinks into a sullen silence, almost ignoring everyone else.

[OOC] Psyche says, "AFK."

Gama, "Roads, trails, fields - Wyzdin has been cut off from the rest of the world except by magic. Even that's getting tougher every day. No Fae responsible for that.

Tsharing says, "Is there any clue as to what does cause it?"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "BRB"

Typheous's face darkens. "Then perhaps that's the reason we ended up here... And is it only Wizdin?"

Rade listens in silence, either unable, or unwilling to add anything...simply a presence.

Typheous . o O ( This might be a longer trip than we thought.... )

Gama, "Can only be powerful magic, and that's worrying. Ever since the War, mages have been working together to push back the Chaos. We don't always agree with one another, but we never fight. Some mage must have decided to break the peace. Don't know why anyone would want to isolate Wyzdin. The only thing there is the academy, and it's not as though the mages there are meddlesome."

Tsharing says, "Can we return?"

Typheous nods slowly, his music intrigued. "Perhaps this fits with our own puzzle..."

[OOC] Typheous brb..

Gama, "Return? The land and river routes to Wyzdin are deadly perilous to all who travel to or from it. And as far as magic is concerned, it's as though the entire town has been dropped in a bottle and the only way in is through a very narrow opening that shrinks with each passing day."

Psyche . o O ( Fucking peachy. )

Tsharing says, "And there is no clue who has caused this?"

Typheous falls in on his own thoughts, his music light and the typical thinking tune.

Gama, "Whoever it is is clever enough to obscure hes aura as sheh works magic. It looked like the Berlion heir might have done it, but he is far from powerful enough to wield such magic. Either a poor ruse or one intended to admit it is a ruse without revealing the truth."

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Intelligence (2) and Intrigue (2) (4d10): 4, 4, 10, 3 No diff given.

Typheous's face darkens. "And conviently it traps all those with possible evidence within the trap..."

Rade shivers, arms wrapping tigher around herself. More evil things out to get them.

[OOC] You say, "Not as messed up as Tyson's Mage plot, but..."

[OOC] Typheous says, "We haven't had much time to mess the plot up yet. Give us time."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Oh god, I just remembered we have to deal with that damn bat tomorrow...."

[OOC] You say, "You don't understand. The PCs in his game are stuck in a time loop. The players refer to the plot as the Flower of Confusion."

[OOC] Typheous says, "What? Not Groundhog day? Or the Amazing ComeBack Inn?"

[OOC] You say, "Actually, YOU have to deal with the bat. Jesus is almost as useful in combat as Raul."

[OOC] Rade hehs

[OOC] Rade says, "or a Star Trek episodw gone wrong ;)"

[OOC] You say, "More along the lines of the Blackmoor Comeback Inn."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Something about the phrase "Jesus is almost as useful in combat as Raul" sounds wrong...."

[OOC] Rade says, "rofls"

[OOC] You say, "Reality button."

Typheous says, "So his scheme seems to be complete...."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Maybe as an improvised weapon...."

Gama, "Or prevents all those who want to destroy that evidence from getting in? I don't know. It's extremely confusing, if you ask me. I'd hate to think politics have evolved because we no longer struggle daily to survive the onslaught of Fae.

[OOC] You say, "Oh, forgot to mention. Gama wears an amulet that looks like iron swords crossed behind a silver shield."

Typheous nods slowly. "Politics are always there, even if there is an onslaught of fae. I doubt that... Unless it was being maintained from within, but if it were, it would have to be done by the Masters there, and I don't think they would limit their own magics."

Tsharing says, "So the question becomes if we should continue on to our original destination or look at this new trouble."

Typheous says, "We have one problem which we know where to look and another we have no idea where to start. I would say continue with our current journey."

Psyche listens, silently, really quite chilly at the moment, and offers nothing to the conversation, mentally or verbally.

Gama, "You say you were teleported into the woods north of here? Do you know of any other students who left the academy in the last month?"

[OOC] Typheous says, "Do we?"

[OOC] Rade says, "plax? :)"

Typheous frowns in thought. "Only our friend who disappeared."

Gama, "Plax? That was over a month ago, now. Lori says a group of Awakened students disappeared a month ago without a trace. That was right before the attacks on the roads began. Then some bigwig from Theusleh showed up at the academy and started asking all sorts of questions, at least until Drapheous and Liriel convinced him to search elsewhere. As soon as the visitor left, Wyzdin began to disappear."

Tsharing says, "Why did we not hear of this before now?"

Typheous glances to Gama. "An month ago? Are you certain of that time?"

Gama, "Hold on. How long were you in the woods? A few minutes? Hours?"

[OOC] Rade says, "ahh hell"

Typheous says, "We spent an evening...."

Rade whispers. "It was a while..."

Typheous . o O ( Damn fae.... )

Gama_frowns. "Time flows differently in the Uncharted Regions. A day there can be a week here, or a month. Other times, you can spend a year in the Chaos and return to find a few days have passed here. When did you leave Wyzdin? Today's date is the 8th of Entropy."

[OOC] Typheous says, "When did we leave Wizdin?"

Psyche's eyes narrow in thought.

[OOC] You say, "7th of Time."

Typheous takes a deep breath. "The 7th of Time..."

Gama, "The good news is the year is the same as when you left. The bad news is you've lost a month. I suspect you've fallen behind in your studies somewhat."

Rade's eyes widen in total shock. "We've been gone that long!?"

Tsharing says, "It could have been worse."

Typheous chuckles softly. "That is the least of my worries right now. I'm beginning to see much more at work here than I first thought. The questiong is why were we sent to the..."

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Intelligence (2) and Intrigue (2) (4d10): 1, 6, 3, 1 No diff given.

Gama, "Yes, it could have been."

Typheous . o O ( If it wasn't the ban on travel... how did he stop us.... )

Psyche reaches reflexively back to her pack. . o O ( I'll have a lot of catching up to do...but if it's a lesson in real life Master Liriel wanted me to have, then it's a lesson in real life I get. ) She doesn't say anything still, just filing everything away in her mind.

[OOC] You say, "Does Drapheous's "The easiest road is not always the shortest one" comment make a little more sense, now?"

[OOC] Typheous starts to see plots within plots.

[OOC] Typheous says, "Yes...."

[OOC] Typheous says, "Now to get my character to see it. *grin*"

[OOC] Eclipse is really curious what people suspect but will wait until after the session to inquire.

[OOC] Psyche murmurs. "Don't ask me; I'm not in the loop at the minute."

Gama, "Your destination was Theusleh, right? There is a reasonably safe path to the capital from here. It will take you a few days to navigate the pass, but the path is reasonably safe, aside from the potential for avalanches, of course."

[Roll]: Typheous rolled Intelligence (2) and Intrigue (2) (4d10): 3, 5, 5, 7 No diff given.

Gama, "Who sent you into the Uncharted Realm?"

Typheous snaps his fingers. "That's it... He sent us here on purpose... It makes sense...."

Tsharing says, "So how does Caine relate to this?"

Tsharing says, "Assuming he actually exists."

You say, "Gama shrugs. "Unless he's a professor at the academy of Wyzdin or a border guard, I've never even heard of him.""

Typheous's music matches his relavator tone. "Drapheous sends us to the Uncahrted Realms because he knows that a group showing up from Wizdin will set off alarms for Caine, especially if we go snooping around for Plax with him. He's hoping it kicks up ahead enough that we come in after Caine stops seeing Wizdin as a threat. Meanehile, this noble shows up and tries to accuse Nod of Plax's abduction, so my guess is he's Plax's father. When the masters convince him there's nothing there to be found at that Nod is innocent, then he leaves and Caine knows someone at Wizdin knows, so he blocks the city." . o O ( That whole conversation on politics makes sense now...)

[OOC] Typheous says, "*relavatory tone"

Tsharing says, "That is a plausible version of events, certainly."

Rade blinks at Typheous.

[OOC] Typheous says, "Needed to get him to pick up the one piece of Drapheous doing it on purpose...."

Typheous pages: "So am I close?"

Typheous has received your page: "Getting warmer, but you're underestimating Drapheous. After all, he's a Master of Correspondence, and it would probably take more than one mage with Cor 5 to lock him down without his permission."

(remotely) Typheous nods. He's not thinking about now, he's worrying about what's happened to get them there. He'll work on that next... when I can get more clues.... ;)

[OOC] You say, "Don't expect much analysis from Gama. He's a plot-dispenser, but his knowledge of politics is negligible."

Typheous pages: "So, when I find out Caine's friends or if he's a vampire yet. :) Not that a vampire could really contend with a mage on Corr."

You say, "A large wolf pads through a blank wall near Rade."

Psyche pauses, thinking. "Most plausible." . o O ( A nice thought. Unless Caine was pretending to be Plax's father to find out if someone knows... )

[OOC] Rade blinks

Tsharing says, "Hello."

Typheous frowns. "But how can Caine keep him locked away as he is doing..." . o O ( That might be it too... I'm not sure on their personalities, so I can't be certain...)

Rade blinks, eyes shifting slowly to the wolf, frowning at it. "What....?"

Typheous seems too wrapped up in thinking about politics to react much to the wolf, unless it does something sudden.

Wolf, "Come with me, Rade."

Psyche glances over toward the wolf, lifting a brow. . o O ( I'm done being childish now. Apology accepted. Maybe Plax is unconscious or warded... And what's that wolf doing here? )

Tsharing says, "No fae could enter here, isn't that correct? This beast should be safe."

Typheous . o O ( I don't know.... I'm sorry for calling you childish, as well.... Now, how could Drapheous be locked down like that... unless he wants to be... Or he doesn't want Caine to think he's on to him... But then wouldn't he try to break the seal... )

[OOC] Typheous says, "He's not ignoring you, Psyche, just concentrating on the task at hand, so he's not going to give any more thought to what isn't considered important to it."

[OOC] Psyche wasn't offended at all, actually.

Rade's eyes widen at the wolf, "You...but...why...it's cold..."

[OOC] Typheous didn't think she would be. ;)

Gama, "No Fae could enter. This is a nature Spirit."

Psyche . o O ( Apology accepted. Enough pleasantries. Why break the seal when he has someone outside it already? Why not let Caine think his plot is working? )

Wolf, "No questions. Follow. You must search for your lost wolf soul, Rade. Only I can lead you to it."

You say, "The wolf walks out the door toward the exit of the building."

Typheous . o O ( But it wouldn't be like him. He's not one to be caged, and Caine knows that, so if he's not trying to break it Caine might be suspiscious. And Drapheous would rather hold his attention than let Caine have spare time to worry about disappearing cabals. )

Typheous pages: "Let me know if I have the wrong impression of Drapheous... ;)"

Rade stares after the wolf increduiously, but after a moment tiredly makes her way to her feet, eyes staying on the ground. "I have to go....I wouldn't be any use anyway...good bye..."

Tsharing says, "Come back when you have a resolution. I will wait."

Psyche's eyes track Rade.

Psyche says, "Not goodbye. You'll be back."

Typheous has received your page: "Drapheous has so many layers and false faces it's difficult to be right about him. Trust me. Even Lori has no idea how Drapheous could have "botched a reasonably simple teleportation"..."

Typheous glances to the wolf and bows to Rade. "May fortune smile on you, Rade, and may your beauty grace us again someday."

(remotely) Typheous chuckles. It happens to the best of them. ;)

Psyche . o O ( How do you know he's not trying to break it? )

Rade has received your page: "The wolf leads you into the forest you just left, but instead of the fairy tale aspect you saw earlier, this wood is alive to the snowflakes on the ground."

Typheous . o O ( Unless Caine is a damn powerful mage, it's really, really hard to hold a Master of Corrspondence in one place if he or she doesn't want to be there. )

Psyche . o O ( And you expect Drapheous to do the obvious thing? )

Rade dissappears out the door in silence, small waif of a form fading into the night.

Tsharing says, "Thank you for your help. Would it be acceptable for us to lodge here for a short time while we think on what to do next?"

(remotely) Rade 's eyes raise to the wood as she enters it, trying to catch up to the wolf, voice very very soft. "Where are we going?"

Typheous . o O ( Yes, and no. He'll want to keep some attention, I would think, but at the same time, he won't keep all his eggs in one basket. He'll be looking for what he and the Masters could do, which would require some sort of access. And even if he wasn't trying, Caine wouldn't know that, so he would have to block it entirely... unless... Unless Drapheous is the one locking the transport to and from the school... )

Rade has received your page: "Wolf, "To Halda's den. She is waiting for you.""

Typheous watches Rade go until she is out of sight, his music fitting to her exit.

Psyche . o O ( Which would gain him what? )

(remotely) Rade gasps in supprise. "But...but...she's dead!"

[OOC] Tsharing says, "Wow, these sure are interesting questions. If only I knew about them IC....."

Typheous . o O ( It would keep us from coming back.... Or he could be siding with Caine... and was just trying to get rid of us by sending us here... but I would think he would pick somewhere with a more trecherous journey to the capital or a bit more leathal... )

[OOC] Typheous says, "Yes, but it's more him mulling it over internally..."

Gama, "Of course. I can guide you through the pass to Ironridge, but no farther. I have responsibilities to those on the borders. I have heard it said the Fae call me the Short Silver Man."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "What does this actually look like, anyway? The two of them sitting there, silently staring at each other?"

[OOC] Psyche says, "No, they're not necessarily even looking at each other. Psyche's sort of staring off into space at the moment."

Rade has received your page: "The wolf grins. "It takes more than a sword to kill the spirit of a wolf. It will be a while before she can leave her den, but she is very much alive.""

[OOC] Typheous says, "By Twin Souls, we "share thoughts" with Mind 1, so basically it seems we can read each other's minds and send thoughts back and forth."

Typheous's face a bit of loss, echoed in his music. "Could we also ask for shelter for the evening, kind sir?"

Gama, "Now, Montbank and I must bid you good night. Work starts early in a monastary."

[OOC] Tsharing says, "I gathered that, I'm saying it's a bit irksome being put out of the loop. I could intrude with Mind 2, but it would be impolite and not really IC."

You say, "Gama turns to leave."

[OOC] Typheous says, "NM, strike that."

[OOC] Typheous chuckles. Yes... hmm...

Typheous sits down slowly. "So... What now?"

Tsharing says, "We get some sleep. We will not solve this problem tonight, will we?"

(remotely) Rade bites her lip, though for the first time in days her eyes fill with hope. "She's alive........is she mad?"

Psyche unconsciously mimics Typheous's gesture. . o O ( Or it could be keeping news from spreading -into- the Academy, if there's danger outside. A bubble of protection? )

Typheous yawns slightly at the mention of sleep. "I suppose not..." . o O ( A thought...) (ooc: What's in the room? And are there seperate rooms for the guy and the girls?)

Psyche says, "Not tonight, we won't...but we do need to sit down and discuss it before we go haring off again. There are some questions posed by Typheous's projection that lack answers."

Tsharing says, "Of course."

Typheous nods, frowning in thought, the loss still in his music. "So many holes in our information..."

Rade has received your page: "Wolf, "By the time we reach her den, she will not be. All her rage will be spent in impeding your search for her den.""

[OOC] You say, "And that is where we'll stop for the night."

Psyche lifts her shoulders. "Not as many as it seems. The fault is in our logic."

[OOC] You say, "Page RP votes."

Tsharing pages: "Actually, NM that. Not enough XP yet."

Typheous . o O ( .... Thank you... Considering? )

Tsharing has received your page: "On the bright side, you'll have some downtime with your mentor next session. Pick your expenditures carefully... ;-)"

(remotely) Rade looks down in supprise. "Impeding?!? What?"

[OOC] You say, "Are a few people confused by the idea of a session ending? *smirk*"

Tsharing pages: "I'll buy Spirit now, though it's your call when I've learnt it IC. Also, could I raise Cosmology, Meditation and Do from 2 to 3 at some point in the future, using next session as a justification?"

(remotely) Rade hrms. "Good point. Thanks for the rp." :)

Rade has received your page: "(Basically, Rade will have to fight and struggle to reach Halda. It will be a bit like besieging a castle by yourself, in some ways, but the end results will be regaining Halda and completing a successful seeking.)"

[OOC] Psyche coldnoses Eclipse to make him squeal, and then applauds Tsharing.

Rade pages: "Cool...I'll think up a writeup for it while in basic? :)"

[OOC] Typheous says, "Out of curiosity, if we're starting the next morning next week, what are sleeping accomodations for the cabal, since it's one guy and 2 girls. "

Rade has received your page: "That would be great."
