Co-Founded Site:
The MST3K Fanfiction Site: -- Dude, go. Now. Or I'll sic Timmy the Robot on you.
MiSTing Sites:
-- My new home away from home. If you go to the messageboards, I go by the handle "Dragomorph" instead of "Bodger."
-- The site from whence Quasispace was born. Go here too, especially since R.Jak is a member.
-- MiSTing home of my online bud Darth Kirby. I highly recommend it -- and it's not because he's mentioned me in several of his works. Nope. Nope.
SVAM: -- The single best place for Anime MiSTings, and one of the largest MiSTing collections on the net. Second only to the link after this...
Web Site #9: -- ...which is this one. The largest database of MiSTings on the net, and the better place to go if you prefer standard cast.
Fanfiction Sources
Fanfiction.net: -- A good source of bot fodder which only seems to become more so as the years progress. Except now it's gotten rid of the MST3K section, further emphasizing it's going to the dogs, methinks.
-- For those with a strong anime leaning and a lot of free time, the Anipike is also a pretty good place to trawl around for fanfiction. It's also good for finding review sites, lyrics, images, fanart and... um... *cough*
Gaming Sites:
Gameforms: -- From the ashes of the beloved Gaming Intelligence Agency comes this brand new gaming site, which should hopefully last longer than the LAST new gaming site I touted on my links page. Worth a look.
RPGamer: Less professional and more genre than Gameforms, but still a pretty decent site. I mostly use it for fanart and music, though.
GameFAQs: Probably the best damn place for free, usually well-written gaming guides. Most of the message boards aren't worth the bytes they take up, but the Live-a-Live board's not too bad.
Starmen.net: Imagine that! A fansite completely dedicated to probably one of the most cultish of all Nintendo classics, Earthbound. Sign the Mother 3 petition! (But don't be a prat like me and use your online name, 'kay? Yeah, I'm a dope.)
Zophar.net: Uh, yeah, I use emulators. Whaddaya gonna do about it, eh? Oh, hi Mister FBI man! What can I do -- *WHACK WHACK WHACK*
The Whirlpool: My personal favorite translation site. Translations: because American game publishing houses are fucking morons.
[I could offer ROM sites, but I don't wanna be busted for it. If you want some, try looking on Google.]
Game Music:
Overclocked Remixes -- The first real site for remixes of video game songs both old and new. Tends to have one too many Mega Man and Final Fantasy remixes, but most of it's the good shiz-nat. Go for it.
VGMix.com -- A newer remix site founded when several popular remixers (including my all-time fav virt) broke away from Overclocked owing to some problems. It's all better now, though, and we now have a place with a constant flow of new remixes. The only downside? Like any free upload site, there's no quality control. But at least unlike at FF.net, the reviews are REALLY reviews.
The Video Game Music Archive: -- If you aren't picky about sound quality, try this place, which is simply chock full of various MIDI arrangments of video game songs. Lots of rubbish, of course, but then occasionally you find a kick-ass arrangement of a really obscure piece and... ahhhh yeah. Good stuff.
Gamingforce Audio: -- Sometimes you just want the music straight and untouched. For that, Gamingforce Audio is a good place, providing a variety of albums for your listening pleasure. The only downside is that they don't always have EXACTLY what you want, but it's still good.
Soundtrack Central: -- An excellent place for well-written, in-depth reviews of video game soundtracks, as well as movie and anime. You can even download tiny snippets of songs, although there's way too many RealAudio samples here.
Web Comics:
It's Walky!: Originally a comic called Roomies, this comic consistently provides some of the best comic writing on the net. Wiigii.
Captain SNES: The best damn sprite comic YOU'RE not reading. This is what the Captain N cartoon SHOULD'VE been like.
