We were suppose to be an oceanographic research vessle mapping out some of the waters of West Africa(We had about 10 miles of antennea strung from stem to stern) - when we pulled into Capetown for the first time. A group of professors pulled up in a car, from the University of South Africa, and wanted to discuss oceanography with some of our group - DUH.. That came on the heels of the port authoritys berthing us directly across the peir from two Russian missle trackers(who at least put tarps over their gear)
