Darkness

The morning sun shines on you
As you wander out your front door
You seem unfazed by this encounter
Your grey-colored stone-like emotional state
Weaves itself throughout every strand of your being
The emotions murder the light
You
feel
hear
see
Nothing, but
darkness

The walk around the block
Leaves nothing to the imagination
The pavement stares you in the face
While you stare down at your wretched shoes
You identify with the roadway
As it is cold and bleak like your sentiments

The rain drops hit the ground
At a velocity of forty five point three six meters per second
You wonder
How does the rain drop feel?
Right before it shatters
In a minute crack of the concrete
You then realize
You feel this way
You are about to collide with an end

The angst and anxiety returns
The problem and uncertainty arises
again
You are now a raindrop
And you’ve just reached the moment before impact
You fail to keep your emotional balance
And the end welcomes you
And you welcome it
Goodbye-
Poor soul…
