Description
of Plan:
Day 1 - The objective of this class project is to learn about the causes and effects of the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Each student will log onto the webquest and proceed in reading the instructions and guidelines. This project is going to consist of two grades: individual work and oral presentation. I will then explain the importance of copyright laws and citing information in the MLA format.
Day 2 - Students will continue work on the webquest. The students will go to the Procedure section and start viewing the five websites and completing the essays. After the students have completed the essays, the students are to plan and organize their presentations by developing sketches of how they are going to present it. At the end of class, students will hand in their sketches so that I can check and evaluate their progress.
Day 3 - I will hand the students their sketches with comments and the set of guidelines that they will need to follow in order to complete the project. After they have read and understood my comments and guidelines then they will proceed in creating the actual PowerPoint presentation. The students will be given the whole class period to work on this assignment.
Day 4 – Students are to complete and finalize their PowerPoint presentations. After they have completed this, each of the students will present their PowerPoint projects to their fellow classmates. The rest of the class period will be dedicated for oral presentations.
Day 5 – Students will understand the concept of uploading by learning the meaning of ftp. The students then will engage in uploading their PowerPoint presentations to a remote server that I have designated on the web.
Assessment:
The grade format will consist of individual work and oral presentation. A rubric will be used to assess their performance.
