Chapter 10

Alexis had never been happier than this moment. She thought as she held her daughter in her arms and carried her towards the front door. She was finally bringing her baby home. Well, more specifically to the Spencer home but she honestly didn't care. Nothing could ruin her mood. Lesley Lu rushed forward to open the door for her. She stepped into the house and saw Luke Lucky and Nikolas sitting on the sofa looking exhausted. However as soon as they saw her they crowded around and cooed over Kristina. For some reason Nikolas was looking almost embarrassed. Lucky on the other hand was being a little too friendly. She didn't have time to dwell on it because it was then that she noticed the purple mark on Luke's jaw.

"What happened to you?"

"My face ran into a fist, I'm fine." He dismissed.

"Someone hit you? Who?"

"Nobody." Luke said at the same time Lucky answered,

"Sonny."

"Sonny hit you?"

"It's no big deal."

"Alexis got hit too." Lesley Lu piped up, causing all three men to look protective.

"It was just Carly, she really doesn't have enough muscle tone to make an impact." Alexis dismissed.

"I kicked her." Lulu told her father proudly.

"That's my girl." Luke beamed.

"Luke!" Alexis exclaimed.

"Well, she hit first right?"

"That's what I said." Lulu agreed.

"I give up." Alexis sighed.

"So you want to come upstairs and see where I put all your stuff?" Luke asked and Alexis gladly agreed. Nikolas offered to hold Kristina for her but Alexis couldn't bear to let her go. Luke lead Alexis upstairs and then opened the door to reveal a room which contained several boxes, a crib and a large bed.

"Luke this is your bedroom." Alexis announced as soon as they entered.

"I always said you were a smart girl Natasha."

"I'm not sleeping with you." She told him seriously.

"What is this obsession with you and sex?" Luke asked.

"What?"

"You interpret everything I do as a come on."

"Everything you do is a come on."

"See what I mean?"

"Luke!"

"You know Natasha if you want me that badly you can just come out and say it, there's no need for these hints and innuendoes." He assured her.

"You're the one who..."

"Relax Natasha, you're so tightly strung. Luke admonished. Would you like me to rub your neck, or anything else?" He asked with a grin.

"Luke!"

"What? I was merely trying to help you release some tension, anything else you thought was in your own mind." He told her, clearly upset that she thought so little of him.

"Sure it was."

"I'm glad you agree. Now as for the sleeping arrangements you and the chipmunk will be bunking in here and I'll be sleeping in Lucky's room."

"Please don't refer to my daughter as a rodent."

"Chipmunks aren't rodents, they're cute. Isn't that right Chipmunk?" Luke asked Kristina as he tickled her, causing her to smile at him. "Well, at least one of you is willing to admit my charm."

"It's probably gas."

Meanwhile downstairs, Lucky and Nikolas sat on the sofa half listening as Lulu told then all about her day's adventure with Alexis.

"How long have they been up there?" Lucky asked.

"I don't know, maybe fifteen minutes." Nikolas shrugged. "Why?"

"You don't think they're ... you know?"

"Ewwww! That's just wrong!"

"What? What do you think they're not doing?" Lulu asked.

Thankfully at that moment the doorbell rang and Luke and Alexis came back downstairs.

"I wonder who that is? Although judging from the day I've had it's probably Helena offering her congratulations." Alexis said.

"Sorry to disappoint you muffin but its just our dinner." Luke told her as he opened the door to reveal a pizza delivery man.

"Yea, pizza!" Lulu shouted happily.

"And for while we eat, a little entertainment." Luke said pulling out a video from a bag on the table. "I couldn't resist, given the circumstances." He told her as he handed her the tape.

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding?"

"They were all out of Dr. Zhivago." He explained.

"Is he a quack too?"

"Lulu, have some pizza." Luke told his daughter.

Several minutes later everyone was happily eating their pizza and laughing at the movie. Lesley Lu sat between her father and Alexis, happier than she had been in months. Every now and then she would give her finger to Kristina to play with. Alexis had not let go of her daughter since she left the hospital and she had no intention to. Lucky sat beside his father and Nikolas beside his aunt. Neither young man would publicly admit it, but they had missed having a family. Alexis sat there thinking about everything that had happened. She had survived her first day as a member of the Spencer clan and in truth it hadn't been as bad as she thought it would. Then again there was still tomorrow.
