Sonny and I are on his private jet heading back to Port Charles. We're sitting side by side, his arms around me. We have barely been out of physical contact since our wedding, and I'm not just talking about the mind-blowing sex. We even ordered room service for all our meals so Sonny wouldn't have to leave our bed for longer than it took to run to the door. He's been wonderful and I'm feeling totally relaxed. I've decided I can handle this, being married to Sonny and having his child. The important thing is to stay relaxed and take things slowly, one step at a time. That's actually my new step, one thing at a time.
"I can't wait to get home so we can go back to bed," Sonny murmurs in my ear.
"And who's home would that be?" I ask.
"Our home, the penthouse."
"Which penthouse? No wait don't answer that. It doesn't matter which one, either is impossible."
"Impossible how?" He asks beginning to look worried.
"I am not going to live with you in your penthouse and there's no way you're moving in with me and Kristina."
"Alexis, married people usually live together."
"You know Jax said the exact same thing after we got married."
"Can we leave Candyboy out of this?"
"Jealous?"
"Of Jax? Not in this lifetime. He never new a good thing when he had it."
"Well if it refers to me, which by the way is extremely insulting, technically he never did have it, er me."
"Thank God, now stop trying to change the subject, you and I are living together and that's that."
"That's that? That might have worked on Carly but it sure as hell won't fly in this marriage. I am however willing to negotiate."
"Name your terms."
"Ah, now you're speaking my language. Okay. I will agree to live with you providing the following criteria are met. Number one we will not live in the Penthouse. Number two the house we move into will have a back yard for our child to play in and at least three bedrooms."
"Three?" He says with a grin as though he's actually picturing me barefoot and pregnant for the next several years.
"Don't even think about it Sonny, one is all you're getting. Our little girl is going to be an only child so you might as well accept that."
"So we're having a girl now?" I can tell he's trying not to smile at me.
"Well it is a new week, beside I'm in the mood to have a girl. As for the house I want to turn the third room into a home office so I can work at home as much as possible."
"Anything else?"
"No I think that covers it."
"Very well, your terms are acceptable, shall we seal it with a kiss or something?"
We decide to go with or something, and seal it twice more before the jet lands in Port Charles, I could get used to this marriage thing. On the way home we decide we will pack up and move into the Port Charles Hotel until we find a house.
Riding up the elevator arm and arm I'm not prepared for the shouting I hear coming from my Penthouse as the elevator door opens. I can clearly hear Ned, Jax, and Kristina but there are other voices as well. Opening the door I am surprised to see Taggert, and Mac also in the room.
"Can I help you?" I yell over the shouting and they all turn to stare at Sonny and I in the doorway.
"You're pregnant!" Kristina says with obvious excitement. Shoot, I forgot I'm wearing a maternity sundress, which clearly shows my pregnancy.
"You bastard!" This of course is Jax who begins to pounce towards Sonny only to have Mac and Ned hold him back.
"Well, well, well..."
"Taggert unless you are here to arrest my hu- client, you have no business being here." I can't believe I almost called Sonny my husband in front of all these people. This is definitely not the time for any more big announcements. I will get rid of everyone but Kristina. Then I'll tell her and within an hour there will be no one left to tell, good plan.
"Actually Jax and Ned called us. Apparently they were under the belief that you didn't go away with Sonny willingly." Mac explains.
I shoot a look at Kristina.
"I tried to tell them but they wouldn't listen, they were convinced he kidnapped you."
"Well as you can all clearly see I'm fine and I went with Sonny willingly so, that said, I need everyone to..." my instructions are interrupted when my cell phone rings. "Excuse me," I say answering it and shooting Sonny a look that says 'don't speak'.
"Hello"
"Hi, how was the honeymoon?"
"Kate. Um now's not a really good time. We're actually back and we've got company." I try not to notice the curious looks I'm getting.
"Let me guess the sister and the ex-fiancé?"
"Not to mention the police commissioner, Taggert and Jax."
"Alexis I will pay you to record this on video."
"Very funny, I'm glad you find my life so amusing."
"It's kind of hard not to. So have you told them about the wedding and the baby yet?"
"The baby was kind of self evident."
"And the wedding?"
"Not yet."
"Honey, we need to pack."
"Sonny." I shoot him a warning glare.
"Pack for what?"
"Where are you taking her this time Corinthos?"
"Alexis you just got back."
"It's okay Kristina, we're just moving into a hotel until we find a house."
"Sonny," I yell from across the room
"I thought you liked it when I'm honest?"
"I like it when you're quiet."
"That's not what you said last night." If I weren't desperately in love with him Sonny Corinthos would be a dead man.
"Do you want me to come over and hit him for you? Kate asks.
"Don't tempt me." I respond through gritted teeth glaring Cassadine daggers at Sonny. Damn it one flash of the dimples and all my murderous impulses go straight out the window.
"There's no way she's moving in with you."
"Alexis can make her own decisions."
At this point my home phone rings.
"Honey can you get that?" I ask in the general direction of Sonny. I hear Kate laugh and realize what I've said. The room is silent and I wonder if maybe I can pretend I meant Kristina.
"Sure sweetheart," Sonny answers picking up the phone. I guess not.
"Hello?"
"She's busy can I take a message? This is her husband. Who are you?"
"Husband!" I honestly don't know who said this everyone seems to be yelling at once. Over the yelling I can still hear Sonny talking on the phone
"Yes... I see... All right... Thank you."
"Kate, I think I better go," I say though I'm still holding the phone, not willing to let go of her friendly voice in my ear.
"Did Sonny really just tell someone he was your husband?"
"Apparently." I'm obviously still in shock.
Sonny has now hung up the phone and the crowd is hushed, waiting for one of us to speak. I decide that ignoring them may be the best course of action.
"Who was on the phone?" I ask.
"Dr. Meadows, she wanted to let us know we're having twins. Alexis? Um, hi Kate, she's going to have to call you back."
