Sonny would have picked up his shirt, walked out the door and gone back to his place. He would have done all this except for one thing, Alexis slammed her door. That caused Sonny to remember what Mike had said about him shutting people out of his life. He was right, Sonny realized. But for once he was ready to open himself to someone completely, to share himself with someone. There was no way he'd allow her to shut him out now. He put down his shirt took the stairs two at a time and headed straight for her door. He knocked twice and waited.
"Sonny?" Alexis had heard him climb up the stairs and took the precaution of locking the door. She was grateful she had when he tried to turn the knob. Damn it, he should have known.
"Alexis open the door."
"No!"
"Open the door, please." He repeated trying to keep his temper under control.
"No!"
"Sonny go to bed." Kristina yelled from her room.
"I'm trying!"
"Your own bed Sonny." Maybe it was the late hour, maybe it was his current state of frustration, or maybe it was all the hot chocolate but Kristina was making a lot of sense.
"I'm coming in." Sonny shouted before ramming his shoulder against the door. Damn that hurt, but at least the door was open. Alexis stood between her bed and the door, too shocked to move or speak. He took advantage of her momentary paralysis to walk over, grab her and sling her over his shoulder, fireman style. That definitely cause a reaction.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She yelled.
"Taking your sister's advice. We need to resolve some things and since we obviously can't get any privacy here," he glared at Kristina who was now standing in the doorway of Alexis' bedroom, "we're going to my place." He proceeded to walk past Kristina and head down the stairs.
"Alexis do you want me to call someone, I could call Ned, or Jax. Do you want me to call Jax?"
"Yes because that would make the situation so much better," Alexis replied sarcastically. The last thing she needed was to watch Sonny and Jax try to kill each other. Sonny opened the door, walked across the hall, passed Johnny and entered his penthouse. Kristina was right behind him but did not follow them into Sonny's, mainly because Sonny locked the door. Johnny looked at Kristina, looked at the door, looked back at Kristina...
"What just happened?"
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Kristina was well aware that Sonny would never hurt Alexis, so she decided to leave them alone. Instead she turned her attention on Johnny. "They're probably not going anywhere tonight and you look like you could use a break, would you like to come in for some hot chocolate?" She asked smiling as she headed back home with Johnny following close behind.
Meanwhile Sonny had finally put Alexis down, once they were in his bedroom.
"Okay now before you start rambling there are a few things I need to say."
"I don't ramble!" Alexis stated indignantly.
"Yes you do and it's very sexy but right now I need you to listen. First of all I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For whatever I did that made you upset.'
"You kissed me."
"Well in that case I'm not sorry."
"You're not sorry you upset me?"
"I'm not sorry I kissed you."
"Oh."
"Alexis I enjoyed kissing you, you enjoyed kissing me. We were both full participants in what happened. Now I understand that this is new territory for us, but that doesn't mean we should stop something from happening that we both clearly want to happen. Did you really dream about me?" He asked with full dimple wattage.
"How did you...?"
"You let it slip when you were rambling earlier." Alexis blushed and tried to look away but Sonny held her chin gently, forcing her to look at him.
"I dreamt about you too."
"Really?" It was quiet, unsure.
He had to convince her, he needed to prove to her how much he wanted her and there was only one way.
Several hours later Sonny and Alexis lay in bed enjoying their new found intimacy.
"You know your sister has probably called the police by now."
"I don't think so. She saw this coming long before either of us."
"Yeah like before we went to Puerto Rico and she warned you about little umbrellas." Sonny laughed. Alexis laughed too as she remembered the conversation she had had with Kristina.
"She was worried you were planning to seduce me. I told her she was being ridiculous."
"She was right."
"What!"
"Well I didn't have a plan exactly, I was just hoping that we would take our relationship to the next level."
"Sonny do you realize we've never been on a date."
"Sure we have, you just didn't realize it." Alexis looked confused and so he continued. "How many times have we had dinner together, here or at the Grill or the No-Name?"
"Most of those were business meetings.
"Alexis, we never discussed business." He was right. How had she never realized that they always managed to talk about everything except business?
"We were dating, and I didn't notice? How is that possible?"
"Perhaps you were preoccupied by you dreams?" Sonny suggested grinning at her. "You never did tell me exactly what happened in your dreams?"
"Neither did you."
"Perhaps I should show you."
Later that morning Kristina received a box by messenger.
"What is it?" Johnny asked coming downstairs.
"I'm not sure." She replied opening the envelope that lay on top. It was a hand written note with only two words, "Thank you." She opened the box and proceeded to burst out laughing. Johnny looked over her shoulder into the box. He was beginning to wonder if things could possibly get any weirder. The box that Kristina was holding was filled, right to the top, with little umbrellas.
