About Us

 

Adrienne and Larry Nelson began round dancing in 1983 and became round dance instructors in 1989.  They are instructors for Dance ‘N Rounds Carousel Club #339. 

 

Adrienne & Larry have been teaching round dancing in the Texas Rio Grande Valley during the winter season at Tropic Star Resort in Pharr, TX since 1996 teaching beginners through phase VI levels.   They also cue square dances with caller, Joe Saltel.  

 

During the summer they grain farm in Iowa and have a round dance club at West Branch dancing on Tuesdays as scheduled.   They also travel extensively serving as clinicians for square and round dance festivals as well as conducting 3 weeks of round dance clinics for phase III through VI at Eureka Springs, AR.

 

They teach regularly at national square dance conventions and have taught at several state conventions.  

They also attend many educational sessions, clinics and round dance events to learn new techniques for dancing and teaching.

 

Adrienne & Larry are active members of Roundalab, URDC, DRDC and several state Round Dance Councils.  

 

Some of their choreography includes The Rose, Our Love Is Here To Stay, Two To Tango III, Shall We Glide and Love Looks So Good On You.

 

They receive great satisfaction from teaching and cueing.   The smiling faces at the end of a teach, as well as the growth they see in each couple, makes the time spent on this activity very rewarding.
