Leopard

Male leopards are about 9 feet (2.7 meters) long from nose to tail. They weigh from 100 to 160 pounds (45 to 73 kilograms). Female leopards are only 7 ½ feet (2.3 meters) long and weigh about 75 pounds (34 kilograms).

Leopards have a tan to yellow coat with black rings with a darker tan or light brown color inside the rings. Their throat, belly and inside of their legs are white with black spots. They have smaller spots on their face while more rings and bigger spots on the back, rear legs and tail. They are often confused with jaguars.

The black leopard also known as the panther appears all black, but it has barely distinguishable spots.
