A small grin formed on Nick's lips. He stood up and muttered, "Hoe." Then he walked out of the room. I was so surprised, Nick had never, in his whole life, been so disrespectful to anyone. Even though she had been so mean to me in the past, but then I realized I had never really even talked to her. It was always what Nick had told me about what she did and said. I looked at her crying in the seat next to me and out my arm around her.
"Get off me," she whispered coldly, "you obviously don't know Nick very well. He will just use you, then loose you like he did me. I thought he loved me, at least that's what he told me, but when I got pregnant, he dumped me. I wanted him back, but then I dumped him, cause he wanted something new, he wanted you!"
"But" I sat there in disbelief.
"Kelsey if you think he loves you, you're so wrong. He is a player and always will be! He'll find some new girl and you'll be stuck without him and with his baby," she stood up, " but don't take my word for it call his ex-girlfriends. Two have his kids, but he does give them enough money for support. If you don't believe me call them." She wrote down two phone numbers and some names. I just stared down at that paper for what seem liked hours, but then Nick walked in. I shoved the paper in my pocket and stood up.
"Lets go." He crapped my hand. I just followed him and watched him really carefully examining his every move.
"What's wrong?" He turned down the radio.
"Nothing."
"No, why are you staring at me like that? Like I did something wrong or hurtful," he pulled over.
"Nick you did hurt someone" I whispered.
"Who?"
"Mandah."
"What are you talking about? She hurt me. She hurt us," He placed his hand on my stomach.
"Nick, I-I just don't know." I pulled away from him.
"Kelsey what's wrong? What did she tell you?" He demanded getting louder and angry.
"I don't want to talk about it now," I mumbled, "just drive."
"Whatever Kelsey!" He slammed on the gas. I wanted to know what he was thinking. She was right, I didn't know Nick very well, I've only know him for, what, three years. I watched him eye the road, he didn't even glance over at me once. He pulled into my driveway, "so are you ready to talk about it now?" Nick demanded.
"No." I whispered.
"God, what did she tell you?" Nick shook me. "I'm sorry" he let go of my shoulders. I was shaking tears filling my eyes.
"No! Why is it so important to you, what she told me? Is it true?!" I cried.
"What did she tell you?" Nick asked calmly.
"She told me that you are just using me and you already have two kids with two different girls."
"Wha? It's all lies! I swear to you! All of it, she just made it up I-I" Nick stammered.
"Well, I dunno if I can trust you, so I'm gonna call these numbers." I stood up," Bye nick."
"Kelsey wait." Nick pleaded as I walked out of the door. I had to know the truth, I didn't want my baby coming into a world so messed up.
I drove home a wreck, Candice was watching TV, talking on the phone and god knows where Lauren was, I really didn't care I just had to call those numbers.
"Candi I need the phone." She stared at me like I was talking in Chinese or something.
"Now?"
"No next week! Yes, now dumbass!"
"Well, I'm on the phone right now" she smiled sweetly.
It made me sick, how she had to always be the center of action and so perfect. I walked over to the phone base and hung it up.
"What? AJ?" She screeched. I laughed walking away from the phone and up the stares to my room. I reached for the phone, then it rang.
