The future is Scarce!

Ch.7

"So?" Nick shifted his weight uncomfortably.
"Yup." I mumbled. They had left us alone saying that they wanted some ice Cream or something and now I was stuck with Nick, all alone. I didn't know what was wrong with me, maybe it was the baby or just being around him. Oh I think it all made me uncomfortable.
"Kelsey I'm sorry! Really I am. You are the only person I have a child with and." I cut him off, "Nick you should be sorry! I mean just the thought of you leaving me or vise versa scares the shit outta me. I'm sorry, too."
"Just to show you that I'm not lying, we are going to get a maternity test done tomorrow. I would have told you yesterday but I though you would have yelled at me or something."
"Nick that's great" I hugged him, which made some of the uncomfortableness disappear.
"Yeah" he whispered.

"So?" I stood up on the tip of my toes rocking back and forth.
"How's the baby?" Nick sat down on the couch.
"Fine, I guess." I answered sitting next to him. I had no clue what to say to him or how to say what I wanted to. I wanted to tell him that I still loved him and I was so sorry but the words just were not there.
"That's good."
"Yea, so how have you been doing?"
"Bad" Nick laughed nervously.
"Me, too" I laughed with him. Nick always had a way to do that, to make any serious situation not so serious.

I heard Candice and Aj in the front room laughing happily. I was so pissed at her for doing this, and Aj, too, But I'm glad they did it. I said good-bye to Nick and told him I would see him at 10 tomorrow, I really didn't want to face him anymore, not just yet at least.
"Hey." Nick greeted me kissing my cheek when he picked me up that next morning. I was so happy things were actually getting back to normal again.
"Hey." I whispered. We drove to the doctors clinic in silence. When we walked into the main office she sitting there with a smug look on her face. I just wanted to get this over with and have everything back to normal and raise my baby with Nick. After about 20 minutes of sitting there reading some boring magazine they called her back into the back room. Nick and I waited. Finally the doctors called Nick and I back.

"Well, it seems that," the doctor started. I just kind of dazed out watching Nick shift in his seat, but I was pulled out of my daze when the doctor said "is no longer pregnant."
