Welcome! If you are reading this, then you want to learn how to program games on a Ti calculator.

First: Basic programs are programs that do not require a shell. A and ZBLSTD are some shell you might have if you already have DIAMONDS or BREAKOUT on you calculator. I ussually don't use shells for my own programs.

BASIC CODING:
Lets Make a practice program. We will make a REALLY BASIC fortune teller.
1) Turn on Ti calculator
2) Press the [PRGM] button.
3) Press right arrow twice
4) Press [Enter] button
5) Now you will have to enter the name of the program. Lets use the name "PROGTEST", go ahead press the letter buttons to enter the word "PROGTEST". Click here for help with typing words and letters
6) press enter and then you will be at the place where you put the programming code that make up the program. press [PRGM] button and press right arrow once, then press down arrow until you see the command "ClrHome", press enter on "ClrHome".
7) You will notice that you are now back at the programming screen but it now looks like this:
PROGRAM:PROGTEST
:ClrHome

8) You have just entered your first line of programming code. Now press [Enter], a colon(":") should appear under your first line of code. This is your second line of code.
9) Press [PRGM] then RightArrow then DownArrow then press [Enter] on the command "Disp"
10) Press the Gold [2nd] then Green [ALPHA] button, then press [+] button to type a " mark and then use the letter buttons to type: "THINK OF","QUESTION THEN","PRESS ENTER." --NOTE--press the [0] key to create a space. Now press the [Enter] key to access the third line of programming.
11) Press [PRGM] then DownArrow then [Enter] on the command "Pause". Press [Enter] for next line.
12) Press [2nd] then [0] key, then press the R letter button to get to the commands that start with the letter "R" in the catalog. Press DownArrow then [Enter] on the command "rand".
13) press the [multiply] button then press the number 10 by pressing [1] and [0] then [Sto->] button then the [X,T,o,n] button.
Now the program should look like this:

PROGRAM:PROGTEST
:ClrHome
:Disp "THINK OF","QUESTION THEN","PRESS ENTER"
:rand*10->X
