CrazyQuilting

by Christine Dabbs

Part One- the Crazy Quilts pages 11-46
8 different Crazy Quits are examined, along with the history of each.
Also, the Fan design is looked at.

Part Two- Instructions pages 47-126
This Section of the book goes from Fabrics, to foundations, appliqueing,
Embroidered patches, embroidery motifs, silk ribbon, seam coverings/stitches,
Beading, borders, batting backing, securing the layers.

Part Three- pages 127-188
The Crazy Patch Heart Block Pattern from the movie, 'How to make an American Quilt',
And The Movie Crazy Quilt from the same movie.
The book details everything- there is a chart that numbers each patch on the quilt, and
Tells what material was used, and has the design, or motif drawn so you can make an
Exact duplicate.

In the 'Part Two' Section, it is full of line drawings that can be used for embroidery, and
There are also many seam and stitch ideas. This book is GREAT!
There is a picture of a quilt named 'Hearts and Flowers' which won 1st place at the 1996
International Quilt Association Quilt Show, first place and viewer's choice awards at the
Marin 1996 Quilt & Needlearts Showand the 1998 Road to California quilt show.

I can not say enough about this book. There are 3 pages of resources in the back of the
Book that I can't wait to check out!
