Well, here is this force which defeated an almost unstoppable Wood Elf army in the finals of games night at chatswood.
Archmage Eldroth -385pts-
Hand weapon, three dispel scrolls, rides a pegasus. Level 4 wizard.
Well, I am a great believer that magic can win you battles, and so I invested in this powerful magical figure. Dispel scrolls will deal with those powerful spells that come once in a while. I mounted him on a pegasus because I liked the mobility that could get him into range for his spells. A chose him over a prince, as i believe that units should be able to hold out on their own, as well as the fact that High Elves have great leadership anyway, and would not loose out too much from the lack of presence from a general.
Commander Hathor -141pts-
Heavy Armour,Shield, Barding, Handweapon, lance, Elven steed, blade of sea gold.
He would join the silver helms, to give them an extra edge on the charge, and in the later stages of combat.
Commander Kalthorian -125pts-
Heavy armour, shield, Great weapon, hand weapon, Radiant gem of Hoeth.
As i noted before, i love magic in armies, and so the gem of hoeth tied in to give me that blend of magic and warrior prowess. He would join the Sword Masters, who would not immediatley charge, and give him time to work his magic.
15 Elven Archers -205pts-
Champion,Light Armour, hand weapon, Long Bow.
I believe that these archers will formed the backbone of the defense, and would make it possible for my counter-attack tactics.
10 Lothern Seaguard -190pts-
Champion, Standard, Musician, Heavy armour, shield, spear, short bow.
You just cant forget to take these guys. They are the most versatile unit in the High Elf force. Unfortunatley points didnt let me take more, but it didnt matter in the end. These guys would take more of a 'shooty' role by picking off unit with thier bows, delaying charge, and then charge in and kick butt. They usually dont let me take my spearmen out of their case but never mind...they are great.
10 Silver Helms -280pts-
Champion, Standard, Heavy Armour, Shield, Barding, lance, elven steed.
These guys are very versatile and you can tailor their abilities to your needs. I decided to make them as hard hitting as possible, buy giving them the max 2+ save. They would be joined my a commander, so that they can have that extra edge in combat which would spell the end for most units.
15 Sword Masters of Hoeth -210pts-
Champion, Standard, Musician, heavy armour, great swords.
Well the army is from the tower of hoeth, so these guys have to pop up too. But its not just these guys' name that counts; they are my favourite hard hitting unit. Nice and quick way to annihilate enemy core units. Need I say more?
Tiranoc Chariot -90pts-
Spear, hand weapon, long bow, scythed wheels.
My flanking killer. The sleekest and quickest chariot in the game. Scythed wheels are a must for taking out deep infantry blocks. Silent killer; love em' or hate em' just dont forget em'!
10 White lions -170pts-
Champion, heavy armour, shield, double handed axe, white lion pelt.
These guys are definite big model hackers. They can absolutley slice up any opponent that the rest of the army may find tricky. These guys chopped up my opponents treeman into firewood at games night. I gave them shields so they dont get shot up with arrows before coming in against enemy troops. Love em to death.
