Piccolo is the son of the Evil Piccolo, he is also connected with Kame so if Piccolo dies so does Kame. Piccolo was to kill Goku when he got older but he didn't get the chance to because when Radtiz came to earth Piccolo teamed up with Goku. Then after the battle and seeing Gohan's power he decides to train Gohan to control his power. First Piccolo left Gohan for 6 months to learn independance. Then he was trained by Piccolo himself. Piccolo started to bond to Gohan. He even took Nappa's blast for Gohan and told Gohan that he was his only real friend. When Piccolo got wished back he helped once again by taking a blast for Goku and Gohan got mad again but this time a Freeza. Then he fuses with Kame and they were the most powerful fighter until Gohan went SSJ 2. Piccolo isn't really in the series much after that. He stayed on his planet earth when it was going to be destroyed.
