WORSHIP

We worship God with other people. Usually we go to church to worship. We call the church the body of Christ. All who believe in Jesus ( even if they go to a different church) are part of this body.

Worshiping together has many parts. Our sins are forgiven. We praise God. We thank God for the world. We pray for each other. We hear the Bible read and learn more about God. We share the bread and wine in the Holy Communion as Jesus asked us to do.

Jesus said that when people who believe in Him come together He will be there too. When we worship we know God is with us.

Ask: What is the church? How do I belong to it?

Prayer : I give you thanks, dear Lord, for being with your church.Give us grateful hearts, voices to praise you, and minds to understand your words.

SHARE

God created people with whom to share the world. Jesus gave his life for us on the cross. Everything we have and are comes from God.

Being given so much helps us to give.We share in three ways.

1) We share things to help others. Often this means giving money to the church and to other groups we see doing God's work.Sometimes we share our house. Sometimes we give things to people that need them more than we do. Often we realize we have more than we really need.

2) We share ourselves.We share our abilities and give our time to help others in "service."

3) We share what we've learned about God. We share the love of Jesus.

Ask: What can I share? How do I share the love of Jesus?

Prayer: Teach me, dear Lord, to so share your love that all around me will also learn to know you.

CONTINUE

It isn't easy to follow Jesus.Often we are tempted to do something else.

Sometimes we find we aren't looking at Jesus. Again, turn.

Sometimes we are standing still. Again, follow.

Sometimes we don't understand. Again, learn.

Sometimes we forget God. Again, pray.

Sometimes the world seems overwhelming. Again, serve.

Sometimes we feel alone. Again, worship.  

Sometimes we feel selfish. Again, share.

To be a Christian, continue to live as a person who belongs to God.

Ask: What should I do today for Jesus?

Prayer: Help me to be a Christian. Help me to do what you want me to do. Dear Jesus, help me understand that you love me and will help me in my life.
