In “The Cider House Rules”, Tobey McGuire plays a doctor-in-training working delivering babies in a Maine orphanage. He leaves and goes to get a life of his own. The movie had a good script and good acting, though I think the Best Supporting Actor Oscar should have gone to Haley Joel Osmond or Michael Clarke Duncan. Michael Caine didn’t do as good a job as them or McGuire.
