Floral Design

Students learn to apply the principles of floral design to their own
floral projects. They work with many different types of flowers from
chrysanthemums to carnations. The different types of arrangements are
also taught and the students learn the proper ways of creating
symmetrical and asymmetrical designs. Students also learn how to
create beautiful corsages. For interested students, there is a floral design
contest that they can compete in.

Native Floral Design

Students go outside and collect native wild flowers around the school
and on other property as well, such as a student's property. They learn
the names of the wild flowers and they create their arrangements with a
more "wild" touch.

Dried Flowers

In this class, students work with various species of dried flowers. They
make wreaths using the correct techniques for working with the delicate
flowers. This is a very unique class and it is a really neat thing to learn.

Holiday Decorations

This class is very fun. Wreaths are made using several species of
evergreens, including white pine and balsam. Candle centerpieces are
made with evergreens as well. And even boxwood Christmas trees are
created.
