Dennis Hill

PSIG took a trip up to Dennis Hill in search of ghosts, but instead found evidence of other paranormal activities.

Dennis Hill State Park is located in Norfolk, CT and is open to the public. However, the park is closed at night, and traveling up the mountain at night is not suggested. PSIG has made 3 trips total to Dennis Hill. The first trip was made at night, and this trip provided the most evidence of the paranormal.

Upon entering the structure at the peak of Dennis Hill, a distinct "presense" was felt by all members of the group. This presence was felt strongest near the middle of the circular lodge, concentrating near a large fireplace. However, no signs of paranormal activity were seen inside the structure. One of the first things noticed about the fireplace was the array of painted symbols and words on the mantel. The word "blessings" was painted in large white letters on the mantel, along with the symbol for harvest and fertility on either side of the painting. This sort of sign could be seen as a classic sign of a new-age wiccan graffiti artist. Paint was also seen on the mantel of a second fireplace in the structure, but this paint had no detectable significance.

Nothing else was found to be out of the ordinary inside the structures, but, the researchers then walked up the stairs outside the structure that lead to a widow's watch. At first, nothing seemed peculiar about the widow's watch until it was noticed that fresh wax, still wet, was visible on the floor of the wooden structure. The group began to speculate as to the source of the wax, seeing that no one was seen leaving the structure before PSIG's arrival, and, because of the cold, the wax could not have been there for very long without hardening. The group members then realized that the wax was evidence of coven activity in the area. Almost immediately after finding the wax, two noises were heard in the nearby woods, the first resembling a scream, and the second resembling an owl. On later examination of video, the first scream was determined to possibly be a bird, but the group thought it odd that no other wild-life was heard before or after the solitary noises. After these noises, all members reported suddenly feeling a sense of warning, as though they were trespassing and were not wanted. All group members then decided to leave the sight, but noted the feeling of being watched as they left. Scott also reported seeing a black shadow standing in the middle of the lodge as they passed by the entrance to the lodge. Jennifer also admits to the presense inside the lodge seeming stronger as they left, but did not look inside the lodge.

Investigator's Note and Theory
PSIG strongly believes that the events of this night was caused by occult activity. It is important to note that dealing with the occult is VERY different than dealing with normal ghosts and spirits. The general belief amongst most "ghost hunters" is that spirits and ghosts cannot hurt people. However, dealing with occult is very dangerous. The occult is performed by people, and some occult activity is not aimed at the human good. In fact, some covens have been known to not only harm, but kill intruders. Though these covens are few and far between, they do exist. We strongly advise against becoming involved with or searching for these activities without proper training. Of course, if you have proper training, you will realize you should not search out these groups anyways. The occult is not a joke. PSIG suggests avoiding any occult activities that may be dangerous at all costs.

Investigator's Theory: Jen offered a theory as to the shadow in the structure. It is possible, if properly trained, to project yourself "astrally" in order to see places beyond your human view. Jen suggested that, if someone was hiding in the woods, they might have performed this astral projection in order to watch the researchers to see what they were doing and if they were leaving. If this is the case, this would prove that whoever was in the woods is a master in their field of the occult and is not someone to be messed with unless properly trained. Due to this observation, it is STRONGLY suggested that you do not visit this area at night, due to the fact that most coven activity does take place at night.
