Chapter One

"You coming Hun?"
"Yeah, yeah hold on," she hissed.
"I mean we are going to be late, this night is for you sweetie."
"I'm coming Brian, hold on." She walked down the staircase in her new ivy dress.
"You look lovely," he mumbled into her hair, kissing her neck.
"Brian, honey, you are spitting in my hair."
"Sorry," Brian whispered grabbing his coat and opening the door for his wife.
"Brian hurry up we don't have all day."
"Sorry I was just saying good-bye to Nina, she is very lonely nowadays."
"She's just a dog, Brian, it's OK."
"I feel bad for her, she really misses Mark," Leighanne sighed, she climbed into the limo and checked her make-up.

"You look fine Leigh," Brian smiled sweetly closing the door behind him.
"I look a mess Bri, how could you say I look fine," she snapped
"Sorry Leigh but you do look fine."
"Whatever," Leigh Anne mumbled closing her mirror and moving away from Brian. The rest of the ride was silent. When they arrived at Leighanne's new movie premiere she had cooled down, which Brian never understood after all he just told her she looked nice.
"Brian dear hold my hand, we must look happy even though, tonight, we are not," she whispered stepping out of the limo, camera lights flashed from all directions.
"Leighanne! Leighanne," reporters screamed. Brian smiled, he was used to the cameras but they weren't for him anymore, it was almost if Backstreet had never existed. Brian frowned All those years, he thought sadly all those years are gone. P>When they finally got inside it was much quieter, no screaming reports and no cameras.
"Yo, Brian sup?" a familiar voice called.
"Hey, Nick how are you?" Leighanne smiled.
"Hello Leigh, how are you?" Nick pulled his date closer.
"Fine fine, well Bri and I must go mingle, talk to you later Nickolas."
"Whipped are what?" Nick grinned at his date.
"Very, I feel so bad for him and he probably doesn't even see it," Courtney sighed.
"Probably not. Oh look it's Christina Ricci," Nick pulled Courtney's arm.
"Nick," she laughed following him.

"Brian this is Charles Reed, the director."
"Hello," Brian shook his hand and nodded, "excuse me dear I have to use the restroom."
"Hurry back sweetheart," Leighanne smiled sweetly. Brian was glad to get away; he walked around the building a little until he found Nick talking to Christina Ricci.
"Hey Nick," he called smiling.
"Yo Brian, finally break free eh?"
"Nick," Courtney hit his arm.
"I'll see you guys later ok?" Christina said quietly and walked away.
"Man she's hot."
"Nick," Courtney hit his arm again.
"Ow that hurt," Nick rubbed his arm.
"So what brings you here Brian?" Courtney asked pushing Nick away.
"I just had to get away," he sighed.
"Hey, do you guys hear that," Nick asked walking away from his friends.
"Hear what Nick?"
"Shh," he bent over and put his hand up to his ear, "that!"
"It sounds like someone singing," Courtney whispered.

"Yeah, hey where's Bri?" Nick stood up, Brian had heard the singing and now he saw who was singing.
"She's great," Courtney said.
"Shh," Brian hissed watching the girl sing. He watched her; she was about 19 maybe 20, long brown hair, not to thin, but not to chubby, just right. Stop it! His head screamed you are married. You have been for two years now, two years of hell Brian thought bitterly.

"Yo Brian," Nick waved his hand in front of Brian's face.
"Huh?" The girl had stopped singing and she was gone. "Where did she go," Brian asked looking around the room for any sign of her.
"She went backstage man, she had stopped singing about 10 minutes ago."
Brian's mouth formed an 'O' and then he felt thin fingers grab his arm.
"Come one Bri-Bear lets go--you're making us late, again."
"Sorry Leigh," Brian looked down and followed her. After the movie, they went to the after party, Brian managed to sneak away when Leighanne was engaged in a conversation with the director. He strolled along the street when he spotted a small cafe. He stepped inside, searching the small area; young couple sat in one of the small booths exchanging small kisses and giggling. Brian scuffled and made his way to a seat. A young girl was sitting in the seat next to him, he knew he noticed her from somewhere but he wasn't sure where.

"Makes you sick eh," she asked turning toward him. He choked on his coffee, "huh?"
"Them," she motioned her head toward the couple still kissing in the booth.
"Yeah," Brian smiled. "Do I know you?"
"I don't think so, I remember you though," she grinned taking a swig of her cappuccino.
"From where," Brian asked unsure of this stranger.
"You used to be in a group--Backstreet Boys. I remember you, you're Brian, yeah Brian Littrell."
Brian smiled, "Yeah. Oh I know where I remember you from now," he gasped.
